    you mentioned that there was a lot of security around setting up a phone, I'm sure you see by now that almost all payments are linked to your phone in China, so there is a lot of security around that to protect your information.

    The oranges they offered to you are meant to aid your digestion from its acidity (or so the Chinese believe) as you mentioned to them that you are extremely full. Take it positively as a goodwill and not so much as they are trying to get rid of their excess oranges. 😊

    Try to put aside your prejudices and see the real China with your eyes. I pay tribute to you. China is a huge developing country, not a paradise or a hell. It is not 1984 described by western media. China has many problems, but until today, he is slowly getting better.

    The coughing up phlegm problem are mostly from older people that smoke their entire life(thanks for the British brought opium and cigarettes to China)... With the younger population refuse to smoke, this problem will be gone in ten years...

    Just found out March 28th is the Tibet slavery emancipation date. The offsprings of Dali Lama and his ruling party’s slaves celebrate this date in Tibet, or Xizang.
    Why not make a video covering it?

    I love your work! This demos the very real normal life behind the colorful images. The way I loved to travel back in China. Sadly in US, I cannot do that much before I know it is okay and when it is okay to go. And per the media tells me, it is getting worse, and I do not even know should I trust the media😂.

    This video is like a long dream that happened in a short afternoon nap, and I mean it in a good way. All those random things around the corner of streets and quietly walking among flowers and statues in a temple is just so like directly cut off from dreams, especially taking the lift bit.

    The MEI MEI that accompanies my youth(Turning Red), MEI MEI is the red panda of Sichuan
    Elemental The fire element girl inside is Sichuan pepper culture
    Sichuan culture is very Thick and so is its food. This is why it has fascinated Hollywood and Disney many times

      I’m not sure if it was the same person, but there was an old lady in a bundle of blankets in an alley near where I was staying who I gifted a few hundred to. She was asleep so I left it in a cup beside them.
      I haven’t seen many homeless in China, can pretty much count on one hand so I’ve tried to help a little when I meet them.

    China becoming a "cashless" society is terrible for older people who do not know how to use a payment app and people who want to maintain some level of privacy in life. I avoid all apps that hand over my personal information. But the lure of "convenience" is attracting many people.

    • @baaronlong5988

      My father is 72, he can pay with wechat/alipay. And privacy? Which privacy you lost by paying by phone?

    • @flyingnan2520
      @flyingnan2520 6 місяців тому +11

      Your worry was common in China from 2010 to 2015. There used to be debate about the inconvenience of old guys paying by phones. However in 2024 Chinese guys generally don't consider this as a problem. Firstly it is illegal to not accept cash. In a cashless society, cash is still able to be used in every payment. Secondly, the old guys learn to use payment app very quickly, much more quickly than you expect. In the beginning you can always get amazing discount by using payment app to pay. The discount is much more attractive for old guys than young guys. Thirdly, the Chinese culture makes the young guys often live with or closed to their parents. The old guys can easily find their children to deal with the problems of smart devices.

    • @XingcunLi
      @XingcunLi 6 місяців тому +4
