Peter is great! His English is like a Native speaker. He also understands the West a lot better. Plus he understands Cantonese food. What a valuable friend Amy has!
As a native Cantonese, I can tell you the best Chinese food is not found in a fancy expensive restaurant, it is usually look unattractive, little bit run-down(high traffic) but well known locally.
Peter is a great example of what a foodie should be like! He knows his game but not snobby or overbearing

There's a hilarious comment that all uncles and aunties make when the dessert is just right, and it's when they say "MM NOT TOO SWEET" - the ultimate compliment LOL. Derk has unlocked uncle level.
The hotel you're staying at is like 5 minutes walk from where I used to live! It's a great area with lots of small stores :D I've been to that restaurant too and all I remember is their 菠萝包 taking 45 minutes to get to us.
