That's what doctors do: they play with organs. :) Seriously, that is an ultra-cool setup. I can only imagine how it must be for the good doctor to be able to come home from a day of treating patients, walk into his living room and play some music on that magnificent instrument.
He understands that the acoustics are equally important as the organ. The best, most expensive pipe organ is dead in a church with carpet, padded pews, and ceiling tiles. It is like a steinway grand without the sustain pedal.
Yes, this is one of my frustrations at the church where I'm organist. We have a really nice 51-rank Schantz organ built in 1999, but the acoustics are dreadful! Low ceiling, carpet, pew pads, absorptive walls, etc. I'm told the acoustics were even worse back when they had thicker carpet. I have to use the Antiphonal division along with the main organ in order for people in the back half of the room to hear much organ sound, but the main organ isn't properly air-conditioned since all of the vents are in the floor; as a result, in the warm months, the main organ goes sharp while the nicely-cooled Antiphonal remains at the correct pitch, and the result is somewhat cacophonous. 😩
@@organist1982 same here. Im playing a new pipe organ in a choir loft with completely dead acoustics. It kills me that no one gets it. I really believe that they view the pipe organ as a status symbol, nothing more.
@@Richard-vq7ud I was shocked when my music director told me that he and the church had looked into the possibility of deadening the acoustics even more at some point before I took the job. Thank goodness they didn't! I can't believe a choir director would even consider that!!
Wow seriously an inspiring story. I wish I had that mans motivation! I noticed a tremor, I pray for him that it doesnt interfere with his playing. That is my biggest fear.
Very lucky man and seems most gracious as well. If I lived there I would probably sleep on the organ bench but doubt I would get tired of playing it. I have been thrilled with pipe organs since I was a little kid. Classical music of course....
That was my dream as a child sitting behind the beautiful church organ. I dreamed often of having an organ in my home. The way he pulled it off is very amazing. Thankfully I was able to play many church organs throughout my life. This one is beyond awesome.
I wonder how many times the police have to come over and tell him to stop/tone it down. We have absolute nuts in the world (like him). I wouldn't want a high-IQ/retard (like him) as my doctor.
and stops he chooses. I'm surprised it's an actual (traditional) one, and not theater shit (which can also sound like the one in the video, with the right registrations).
Imagine the insurance appraiser walking in the front door: “I understand you have some contents here that might be better protected with a separate policy? Some kind of keyboa -oh -oh… OH MY GOSH!!
No, he DOES NOT!!! I think he's the one that needs to be meds, and in a nursing home. Who thinks up this shit?! Thank God this guy is not my grandfather, nor related to me. Thank God, there is no one in my family, that has ever owned or played such an abusive "musical instrument."

“…play with organs.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
One of the most beautiful sights and sound that I have ever seen and heard!
As an organist, this is my dream! I'd do almost anything to get a 7,000-pipe organ in my house!

@@organist1982 i believe it. It is part of the zombie invasion we are experiencing.
Lmao my gosh. Imagine making your house bigger to fit your musical instrument in. That’s insane. Amazing.
The exact thing i do when I'm off the hospital 😂.
It's a lovely experience 😍

Amazing! He seems to be more of a musician with a passion for medecin..which happens to be his livelihood. Both are equally demanding.

Classical music of course....
What an incredible passion!
WOW!!! Greetz from the organ country (NL 🇳🇱😊❤️)
1:40 those strings ❤
i know someone that knows this man i see this house all the time super dope dopest house i’ve seen and i’ve seen a lot of really really nice homes
Hey Doc, hit the SFZ and play two four notes chords, with double pedal.
If that glass house stays standing, you win.
Awesome story. Nice you teach too. You may know my cousin classical pianist yefim bronfman.
Oh my.....He must be so passionate with organ...
Opening Tune: O Waly, Waly. Very nice.
That’s exactly what I’d do If I had all that money. I could only imagine that cost over 3 million dollars
The organ itself probably costs 2-3 million, if not more. And a massive home on the water? Woah. Huge numbers.

poor guys hands shake
Virgil Fox also had a large pipe organ in his home.
this is my dream in real life i cannot believe it. i would die for a real instrument in such a perfect space

GORGEOUS INSTRUMENT!!!!
a 32ft reed in a home is a supreme flex
There are three 32' reeds. Bassoon, Posaune, and Bombarde. Plus a 32' Subbass and 32' Violone, all the real deal.
@@shawnkeith1164 A video of Widor's Tocatta? About 3-1/2 mins in, the acid test.
