This song has been my favorite Whitney song EVER since 1990. This was (for lack of a better word at the moment) magical hearing it again “for the first time” through you. I, too, make those faces when I hear some damn good saxophone.
I've said that a million times.. Saxophones need to be back in Music.. the 1980's was like the height of music and you'll notice there were saxophones in lots of the songs.. It just bring an element to songs that no other instrument can bring. On another note. Whitney Houston was absolutely drop dead beautiful. the Epitome of a Black Barbie doll, with an equally beautiful angelic voice that the world has never hear anything like it before her.
Her live version during "HBO's Welcome Home Heroes" isn't merely the definitive version, but, aside from her "Star Spangled Banner", is her best and most emotional performance ever.
This was from the album, "I'm your baby tonight". A lesser known song from this album is, "Miracle". Please give it a listen. The song did have an official music video.
Miracle is such an under-appreciated song! Whitney's vocals are, of course, bar none. But it's the extremely personal lyrics and Whitney's unparalleled emotional connection to them that truly seal the deal.
@@iheardmyhappinessgotyoumad3571 I think the OP was referring to the song, not the album. Miracle is likely not a song a casual listener would know. I would put My Name Is Not Susan in the same category. IYBT the album was not the massive global juggernaut Whitney's first two releases were, and the singles from it don't possess the same name recognition as her biggest hits. ATMTIN is arguably the most well-known song from that album.
What a fantastic God given vocal talent she had! Rest in peace beautiful lady! Hey Liz, I got a excellent song for you to check out with a sax and a beautiful talented young lady ( Chante' Moore and Kenny G "One More Time") and (Chante' Moore "As If We've Never Met") I guarantee you'll love it! Take care and stay safe! Vibe Squad Out!
Even though I was there at the time cuz I'm 35 years old I just don't understand how someone could love another person so deeply. Many of the songs of the past Express very deep emotions towards another person. Maybe I'm the one that's flawed though but I still would like to understand.
Fun fact, the dress whitney wears in this was the prototype, the actual dress was lost, they had to fasten it all the way up at the back with safety pins! This woman couldve worn a garbage bag and still look a million bucks
I've always thought this recording was a fine example of-at least in this case- of how she delivered a terrific pop song but infused it especially toward the end with gospel sounds and vibes.
Not sure I appreciated how truly amazing she was at the time. Breathtaking.
How did you miss it????
I miss her! She was so gifted
The part at the end where she appears on stage with the choir, she never looked more gorgeous.
i agree completely

I hope you are kidding about I'm Your Baby Tonight being lesser known because you would be absolutely incorrect.
