It's a very popular belief these days that skin cancer is not so much the result of sun exposure as the result of a body that can't cope with the exposure. In reality it's a mix of a lot of things with a good mix of genetic disposition, though nutrition is not something i've seen good evidence of.
What you eat definitely impacts how you react to the sun, same as putting sunglasses on for example. I stopped having sunburned when i stopped putting sunscreen. So it's one example out of many but in my case it seems true.
Imagine getting a bee sting on your butthole! Having to explain that to a doctor like "yeah I think it was a bee, I was sunning my butt... please help"
I knew someone who was doing the drinking and bathing in urine thing. He told everyone that the smell of the urine wears off the way that white vinegar eventually dissipates after a bit when you use it to clean the carpet. He was not correct about that. Additionally, having to save the urine all the time meant that he needed to bring a canteen with him everywhere so that he could pee into it and take it home later. But he had terrible aim or something. As an itinerant visiting healer, he would frequently stay over at various people's homes after meditation classes or whatever, sleep on their couches, and slosh his urine thermos around in their bathrooms, etc. One time he did a cacao ceremony at a sound healing studio and used the bathroom before he left, and the guy who owns the place was practically in tears afterwards.
The "it helps strengthen your immune system" immediately followed by "it reduces white blood cells" has to be the craziest set of statements in the video.

Im worried about stepping on glass. You cant tell me you have never been walking down a sidewalk and walked by several broken bottles, or nails, or needles or SOMETHING
I commented this on another video but I recommend Anthony Padilla's interview with barefoot people (they talk about stepping on nails/glass). And I think the chance of stepping on glass is actually low. Like imagine you're walking barefoot, you don't step without thinking or feeling the ground beneath your feet so if you start feeling something sharp you're gonna change where you're stepping before properly hurting yourself. You don't walk the same way you do with shoes. And it's actually very common there's no glass or nails on the sidewalks here? where are you going where there is nails or needles lying straight up for you to walk on? Genuinely asking!! Not picking a fight haha. Just sounds very odd, and dangerous for someone wearing shoes too!

honestly that comparison is probably right, in the sense that a body part with sensitive thin skin like the butthole (and vag for the ladies) that's almost never exposed to sun and open air would be ill equipped to fight off UV rays i'd even bet that doing it the first time would likely result in getting sunburnt
I remember a Dr. (I think Dr. Mike) said that this practice is so dangerous because private parts never really needed to develop melanin to protect itself from the sun (since the Sun's rays never really shine on those areas) so the risk of skin cancer there is very high. It's also in an area that would be difficult to screen for skin cancer just by yourself so it may go unnoticed. I dunno what's wrong with these people, just go outside for 20 min and get your vitamin D for the day.
I know a chiropractor that, if his patients can't come in person, he'll talk to them over the phone while he adjusts his secretary or someone else on their behalf. Basically a vicarious adjustment and they believe it help. Not sure how the adjustment floats through the ether to their skeleton. Still charges them for it too.
Oh my God, this made me laugh soooo hard. I imagined him struggling to rest the phone on his shoulder while cracking his receptionist's neck. I don't know why, but this is hilarious to me. Oh, in my mind, he's 100% on a land line with a super long chord.
@@Hannahgs chiropractors are not medical doctors and none of chiropracty (probably not the right word, English is my second language) is founded in research. Physical therapy is backed by research, and many chiropractors do include some evidence based treatments in their work, so it's not necessarily all snake oil, but their practices can be dangerous (mostly to your wallet lol) and you're better off going to a PT. The origins of chiropractors is actually a wild and pretty interesting story, I'm sure there's some good youtube videos on it if you're interested.
@@eevee2411 I always thought that, like the popping joint thing probably feels nice when done correctly but I’ve seen too many chiropractors be like “and by popping your back I’ve cured your liver problems!” lol I am definitely interested in how the field got started. Like the guy that straps people down and pulls on their necks…I feel like you could so easily hurt someone doing that.
@@Hannahgs Yeah neck adjustments are actually dangerous! You can cause an artery dissection which basically means that the blood vessel 'breaks' which can be deadly if not treated right away. There's some videos on youtube about the origin of it all, its some crazy culty stuff haha. As with all alternative medicine, if it makes you feel better (and is not dangerous, most adjustments aren't dangerous but neck shouldn't be touched imo) most doctors won't tell you you shouldn't do it, as long as you don't let it get in the way of actual medical treatment. Like if smelling essential oils gets you through the day, by all means do that lmao. It gets iffy when they tell you to not go to actual doctors
The guy claiming our hair are ANTENNA and that's why it stands up when we get scared was wilddd 😭 Hair standing up is an ancient defense mechanism in our bodies, originating when we were still apes covered in thick hair. When we get rushes of adrenaline, our hair stands up similar to the way a cats fur does when it gets scared.
About sunscreens, if people are worried about the chemicals (which are totally safe, but still), there are physical sunscreens that work by creating a physical barrier on the skin that shields it from the sun's rays. Nowadays most sunscreens are chemical because they work better and they're more water and sweat resistant, but hey, physical sunscrens still exist and you can use those. Just please, for your own good, use sunscreen when getting sun exposure for a considerable amount of time. The pain caused by the burn that you'll get is the least of your concerns on a long term perspective. The damage that long sun exposure does to you can't be understated. Do it too many times and besides looking like shit because your skin will be ruined, you'll probably get a serious desease from it. Extra tip: never, ever, eveer use a solarium. UV rays emmited by a tanning bed are proven class 1 carcinogens.
Yes!! A sunburn is literally a wound response in your skin because of DAMAGED DNA DUE TO UV RADIATION… hello? Does this not sound scary to anyone else?? A sunburn indicates damaged DNA in your skin! As someone who is pale and has had their fair share of BAD sunburns in their life, I try so hard to protect my skin these days. Please, people, don’t underestimate the damage UV can do!! Even if you don’t burn, there is no such thing as a safe tan! Tanning is also a response your skin has to damage caused by UV radiation. It is still very much harmful to your skin. Deeper complexions have more melanin which can be protective of their skin, but they still should use sun protective practices!! It can still cause damage and skin cancer is not impossible in deeper skin tones, though the risk is considerably lower- why risk it though? I think there is just a lack of education when it comes to sun protection and it is so disheartening.

Also love how she said makes you feel more connected to nature… only hippies who already feel a superficial connection to nature would ever think to do something like this
Love how the guy said liver HOLDS your toxins, no, liver breaks DOWN toxins, things like alcohol and drugs. He’s thinking liver is the thing killing you but it’s not?
With that argument why doesn't he just get rid of his liver
I never realized the anus was directly connected to the liver, either
Based on how I treat my liver, I wouldn't blame it if it were having homicidal thoughts LOL
he also has weird ideas about what bile is or what it does. it mostly just helps you digest fats in the small intestine!

"You don't need sunscreen you just need good nutrition" - how did you let this statement slip past? I burst out laughing.
same! I was like WDYM I need an explanation. how does good nutrition cancel out the suns rays? bro 😂
This post was sponsored by skin cancer gang
It's a very popular belief these days that skin cancer is not so much the result of sun exposure as the result of a body that can't cope with the exposure. In reality it's a mix of a lot of things with a good mix of genetic disposition, though nutrition is not something i've seen good evidence of.
What you eat definitely impacts how you react to the sun, same as putting sunglasses on for example. I stopped having sunburned when i stopped putting sunscreen. So it's one example out of many but in my case it seems true.
@@astromiguiYes! When you wear sunglasses you trick your body into thinking you’re in the shade so your skin won’t start naturally protecting itself.
I'd be constantly worried about bugs with my a hole raw to the sky like that.
Oh dear god… that made me think of just how HORRIBLE a tick in your butthole would be!!!
Imagine getting a bee sting on your butthole! Having to explain that to a doctor like "yeah I think it was a bee, I was sunning my butt... please help"
Got a mosquito bite on my balls one time(not from sunning lmfao), it was extremely fucking annoying 😂
Lmao

The barefoot thing is so crazy to me. They always say stuff like “people think we are weird but they just conform to social norms” and shit but like… im not worried about that. Im worried about stepping on glass. You cant tell me you have never been walking down a sidewalk and walked by several broken bottles, or nails, or needles or SOMETHING
Honestly, just a slightly pointy pebble will ruin my morning
Just sounds very odd, and dangerous for someone wearing shoes too!
also like ,,, asphalt was not made for walking on barefoot. i walk barefoot in my house more than i probably should and also in grass but on stone is crazy why would you put yourself through that
Most people that walk barefoot (like myself) don't live in a city, rather a rural area, usually forested
I don’t get why people ignore that our ancestors have been wearing shoes way before they invented the wheel.
These influencers seem to think they can photosynthesize with all this talk of sunning and light exposure

That spinal energetic session definitely worked because I laughed the whole time and now I'm healed.
If 30 seconds of sun on the butthole is like being exposed to the sun for 8 hours, I would be concerned about the risk of cancer with this practice
honestly that comparison is probably right, in the sense that a body part with sensitive thin skin like the butthole (and vag for the ladies) that's almost never exposed to sun and open air would be ill equipped to fight off UV rays
i'd even bet that doing it the first time would likely result in getting sunburnt
I like the random 8 hour calculation. Like Sun exposure is some 9-5 job they invented for themselves.

That's f'ed up, I already think chiros are shady
If they sold themselves more like a message I wouldn’t be so wary, but they really do sell their practices as cures and some of the videos I’ve seen are really scary.

I think there is just a lack of education when it comes to sun protection and it is so disheartening.
lifeguard here, yes!! i use sunscreen with zinc :)
