Isn't it sad that some participants like Marina and Silvester ended lower than other countries like Sweden and Portugal? Don't get me wrong, i liked Portugal's song, but it only took 13 votes from the public and it was 7th from the jury. That's a huge gap. It's sad that Marina was 8th from the public and Silvester 10th and they ended up lower than Portugal and Sweden ( because Portugal and Sweden was out of the top 10 from the public vote.) I don't know , it's sad because i truly can't understand why Sweden got so many votes from the jury. It really feels like some things are so obvious that are happening for the wrong reasons...
I can sort of see why, because the jury comes from the music industry and look at what songs would potentially be global hits. Sweden's song which i like to call forgettable, is just a ordinary radio buster and on the global stage it would be able to play on the radio multiple times a day... It's a safe and uncontroversial song but still highly marketable to a wide audience outside of the Eurovision scene. Even if i really for example liked Bambi's performance since it was very impressive, the song without any visuals? Erm... yeah, it ain't the same. There's also ofc. some bias involved, many in the music industry simply love(or hate) Sweden because music have sort of been one of our more respectable exports for many decades now. More people then one would think come here to get help with staging, lyrics, marketing etc. So basically that reputation will make some people biased.

Sweden being a unremarkable country in most aspects kind of ensures people don't have much of a negative bias towards us which let's those minor positive things shine trough. This happens pretty much every year, we send some forgettable(even if it's polished) act and we usually land at a decent position. I blame this on us basically owning certain parts of the European music industry. Many years there's multiple songs in the contest who have Swedish connections, most commonly it's the songwriters but also choreographers etc. Thankfully i don't have to think much about my own country's representation and to be fair i don't watch Eurovision as a competition by itself, I watch to see all the acts and don't really care much about how many points they get. I did however got worried last year because i don't like when we host Eurovision, half of the fun is to see someone else host.

Why don't they award first place to the highest placing rather than the most points accumulated. 12 points for 1st, 10 points for 2nd, 8 points for 3rd, 7 points for forth, 6 points for 5th, 5 points for 4th, and so on. Switzerland came 1st with jury and 5th in televote, Croatia came 1st with the televote and 3rd with the Jury. Switzerland 17 Croatia 20. and so on

The jury vote is obviously rigged, the jury gave so many points to switzerland that it was impossible for anyone else to win, even tho croatia got like 400 points from the televote, while switzerland got 200, still lost.
