    I've been forced to use more plastic bags than ever since Covid because Loblaws banned backpacks in their stores because they say that they are used for shoplifting.

    this is getting to be to much. how much control are we going to let this disgusting government get away with. we need a way to make government do what people want. there is no reason we can't recycle rather than cancel. that stupid Paris agreement has destroyed the recycling industry and this belligerent government will only impose rules on Canadians rather than do some real work and fix the recycling industry.

    In Feb 2020 the Eco Guards Org 1990 in NB, submitted to our Canadian Government an extensive waste plastics reclamation program, entitled The Dandelion Project, although we have not heard from them yet, This NEWS today is a great start to that project. Now is the time for a balance approach to all things pertaining to Ecology, Economy and a proper Eco Education Systems. This is very much long overdue. Understand all plastics can be reclaimed, not just some of them. And our Dandelion Project will show and do exactly that. The old ways of recycling needs to change, for those recycling systems are part of the problem. Furthermore, we did not ask for any ban on plastics, only the proper reclamation of plastic at the end of their use. Petroleum plays a great part in our economy and our ecology. Moreover, all particle plastics are toxic, they're made of petroleum and when plastics break down, they don't always float on the surface of waters. As for coffee cup lids, Eco Guards has a real Pulp, natural wax polymer solution for those, it's just no one listening. That said, these things are part of the Dandelion Project. For we've developed the 3Q's. Quickly, Quarantine for Quality of life. And this encompasses the understanding that current recycling efforts are "dead technology". We should reclaim these items, not burn or place them in landfills. For current recycling efforts cause the particularization and dispersal of those micro particle plastics to begin with.

      Thanks for the info. This ban is long overdue! I'm looking forward to the day when most people have done the research and educated themselves on this topic. It's clear that many in this section have not. It makes good sense. Thanks Prime Minister Trudeau!

      The only think I'm afraid of is unnecessarily driving prices up for working Canadians for virtue signalling projects. 90% of the plastic in the oceans comes from 7 Asian countries. Canada could eliminate all plastic and it wouldn't make a bit of difference.

    • @voidremoved
      @voidremoved 3 роки тому

      recycling is stupid. It was a band-aid solution it takes too much resources. You have to truck the garbage to a facility you have to process it, ship it around, reprocess it. Its not clean.
      Better is that you use biodegradable products. Especially Canada has legalized cannabis, you can make anything out of cannabis plant, clothes, utensils, packages, cars...

  • @businesscat7554

    Anyone that's mad about this clearly doesn't understand that the plastics will all be replaced by extremely similar alternatives. Instead of Chinese plastics, we could mostly be using bi-products of trees for all these disposable things, which is also a huge part of the Canadian economy. So essentially it's better for the oceans, it's better for the Canadian economy, and better for Canadian businesses. All it takes is for some of our more ignorant residents to get over themselves and accept that plastic isn't actually a part of their culture, it's just cheap garbage.

    Real inclusive progressives would bring people together & stage a dialogue to find a solution that makes everyone happy. But to just force laws & ban legal products & activities only to inflect one certain lifestyle on everyone else is bullying, uncivilized, undemocratic & not what real progressives do. And besides, we have made great progress in biodegradable plastic. Don't bully! The more choices we have the better our democracy.
