You guys nailed it. This was music that sounded great (and still does) in the summer and certainly fits the Rocky feel. Stallone used Survivor songs like Eye of the Tiger and Burning Heart in Rocky films. Jimi Jamison, who is singing on this track had an incredible voice. May he RIP.
I knew Jimi Jamison from about 1994 until his death in 2014. He was a genuine and down to earth man. From what I hear he went through the "I'm a star" period, but that's normal in his line of work. When I knew him, he was approachable, friendly, and genuine. His daughter Amy has his pipes.
It's nice to see younger dudes liking the music from the 80s. Vital Signs was an awesome album. If you're into ballads, "The Search Is Over" and "I See You In Everyone" are hard to beat.
I hate when people put out “Top 100” or whatever number they want on the list. I have a lot of “Best Vocalists” and it’s so subjective and everyone has different tastes and of course they all think THEY are right! I always preferred the guys that can hit the high notes. Everyone is different. I look at those lists and am shocked at what I see. I saw a “Top Guitarist” list and George Harrison from the Beatles was at I think 15 and in the little description they had about him it mentioned certain solos and one of their favorite solos was from “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”. This was supposedly a “music site”! George was a below average guitarist and everyone knows that they brought in Eric Clapton to do that solo! 😂 But if you really ever want to know who’s the best, just ask me! 😂
Jimi is one of my favorite vocalists and one of the best ever! He was in the band Cobra before Survivor hired him away. He’s much better than the original singer. You should do a Cobra song. It would be cool because most people haven’t heard of them, but they’ll instantly recognize his voice. “Looking At You” is great. “What Love Is” is my favorite Cobra song I think. It is amazing! First Strike is the name of the album from 1983.
Survivor was a great band and Jimi has the most remarkable voice ever. You should listen to Survivor CD Too Hot to Sleep, Jimi's Empires CD plus Crossover Moments and Never Too Late. Jim Peterik (Survivor, co-founder, musician, producer of Jimi's Crossroads album) stated that Jimi was pitch perfect. Incredible Singer. Thanks for featuring Survivor.
Someone mentioned NIGHT RANGER. Another great band in this genre. Songs to check out - "Sister Christian", "Don't Tell me You Love Me", "Sentimental Street", "Four in the Morning". Good stuff!
Goodbye too!! Big hit by them!! They also did a song from Explorers, I can’t remember the name but it’s maybe “The boy must rock” or something like that!
Props to these two babes for being able to hold straight faces through this video. I like them. Articulate. Not ‘pause happy.’ Not overly commentating. Good job boys! And they listened to Triumph. Bonus.
As a 49 year old that still feels like he is 20 I can say you boys would fit right in in 1988. it was a glorious time when you were really free. No phone to track you down. Life was slower and we had amazing songs like this. We were not over exposed to things on the internet so everything felt new and fresh.
Gotta listen to Is This Love, The Moment of Truth, American Heartbeat, Caught In the Game, Jamie Don’t Go, Summer Nights, Youngblood, Somewhere in America, Freelance, Didn’t Know It Was Love, and of course Ever Since the World Began ALL by Survivor!!! They have so many good songs!!! and sometimes people will say the best song by a musician or group is NOT a hit!!! It’s up to you guys though! It’s your choice which of their songs u like the most
Survivor should have been much bigger. If you've watched the Rocky movies, Survivor sings Eye Of The Tiger featured in Rocky III with David Bickler on vocals and Burning Heart in Rocky IV featuring Jimi Jamison on vocals who is singing here. This is from their album Vital Signs -- whole album beginning to end is great. Jimi Jamison (RIP) was such a great singer. His voice was so smooth and seemingly effortless.
Jim Peterik is such a brilliant writer beside all The Survivor co writes he also co wrote Hold on loosely and Caught up in you for 38 Special and Vehicle and other great songs in Ides of March
Check out the live version "Live in Japan 1985" - they perform the song and it sounds 99% like the studio version - incredible, professional musicians!!!
Even though I'm 51 years old I feel that I really share your favourite things entertainment wise as I also noticed your Empire Strikes Back and Back To The Future pictures on your wall. It's GREAT to see the younger generation enjoying what I first listened to, watched and loved as a teenager in the eighties. I love Survivor as they are an AOR band and I love the AOR Rock genre generally.Other examples of AOR bands are Journey and Nightranger but there are tonnes of them even some that were only formed in the last 10 years or so but still have that 80s AOR sound. You may have noticed the man in the suit on the train getting hot under the collar? He was the main song writer in Survivor and his name is Jim Peterik. He formed the modern AOR band Pride Of Lions who I HIGHLY recommend you look up.
One AOR guy that never really had a hit but got recognition from the Goldbergs tv show was Stan Bush!! I downloaded one of his albums and it’s worth it and kicks ass!!
Survivor is one of those bands that had huge hits throughout the 80's, mainly stemming from their first hit for the Rocky III movie - "Eye of the Tiger". The lead singer here, is not the original. This is Jami Jameson who died a few years ago but has an outstanding voice. David Bickler was their original lead singer who left from what they said was vocal issues but he now claims they fired him. Keep going down this rabbit hole. Other bands like this - LOVERBOY. Check out songs: "Working for the Weekend", "Lovin Every Minute Of it", "Notorious", "Hot Girls in Love". Huge band out of Canada with a lot of songs to check out. These are just a few.
Also Turn Me Loose, When It’s Over and Almost Paradise from Footloose soundtrack! Also they should react to Kenny Loggin’s Meet Me Halfway!! That is if they take a liking to the power ballads!!
🤣😅 "This sounds like something out of a ROCKY movie" There's good reason for that 😉 VERY perceptive if that was a legit observation. Maybe it's time to check out the TWO songs these guys made FOR the ROCKY movies. "Eye of the Tiger" and "Burning Heart". After at least one of those ... I say check out "Is This Love". Very much in the same category as the this one. Maybe even BETTER (my opinion). Good reaction lads. Maybe time for a little JOURNEY if you haven't gone there yet.
The reason the video is unrealistic is because it’s his fantasy after seeing her at the library 😉 New music recommendation would be Richard Marx “Hold onto the night,” and others by him as well.
Hi guys, just stumbled up on the both of you. Great to see youngster appreciate the music that defined my youth. Try rebel son by survivor you will be blown away or feels like love live-version, and keep up the great work, love your channel!!!

That’s the second time I’ve heard that girl being compared to Olivia Newton John. As a young guy in the 80s, I had a thing for both girls. 😍

Funny y’all mentioned Rocky movies, because two of their songs were in Rocky movies: “Eye of the Tiger” in Rocky III and “Burning Heart” in Rocky IV. You also mentioned Triumph, both bands are great when one is having a lousy day because their music is really uplifting.
I was 12 when this came out!! Never really became a fan of theirs til after 2010!!! Great music they have!! A number of songs from Reach aren’t the best but they’re a hell of a lot better than “watch me whip watch me nae nae”

The entire album Vital Signs is phenomenal.
The Jamison era of Survivor is epic. He can sing anything.
Next Survivor reactions should be to "High On You", "The Search is Over", "Desperate Dreams","Is This Love"
Jimi Jamison & Mickey Thomas have to be the most underrated vocalists in rock & roll history. It's F'n criminal!

This group had soooo many hits ! R.I.P. Jim Jamison .

Jimi Jamison had one of the most underrated voices.
What an amazing voice, Jimi had. This is a great album. RIP Jimi (2014).
The 80s were a decade to live in so much beautiful and meaningful music 🎵🎶 and greater times..R.I.P. Jimi Jameson 🎸😥
The late great Jimi Jamison, so many hits!!
high on you and the search is over are really good from survivor
Someone mentioned NIGHT RANGER. Another great band in this genre. Songs to check out - "Sister Christian", "Don't Tell me You Love Me", "Sentimental Street", "Four in the Morning". Good stuff!

@@David_Theisen this boy needs to rock
RIP Jimi Jamison 💔. Nice reaction. They are the band that did Eye of the Tiger and Burning Heart for Rocky 3 &4
Props to these two babes for being able to hold straight faces through this video. I like them. Articulate. Not ‘pause happy.’ Not overly commentating. Good job boys! And they listened to Triumph. Bonus.
Yes, they're really good.
High on You is a great song for your next Survivor selection.
Probably my favorite Survivor song!! Along with Poor Man’s Son!!!
As a 49 year old that still feels like he is 20 I can say you boys would fit right in in 1988. it was a glorious time when you were really free. No phone to track you down. I was in high school!!! 1984 or so. Epic

Didn’t Peterik also co write Rockin’ Into the Night too??
Wow, this song brings back so MANY memories- love it !!! 💞👍
You guys would love a Survivor song called Didn't know it was love, great song.
Brilliant tune.
Check out the live version "Live in Japan 1985" - they perform the song and it sounds 99% like the studio version - incredible, professional musicians!!!
EXACTLY!!!
The entire concert is ridiculously good. So glad they documented it as well as they did.
Check out "Is This Love". More of a ballad but really good.
NIGHT RANGER. EVERY SONG. 1ST 4 Albums FOR SURE.......!!!!
Absolutely, but check out their newer stuff too.
The vocals and the guitar Tone are phenomenal,.and the lyrics~
You need to do "Burning Heart" by Survivor with Jimi Jamison on the lead.
Even though I'm 51 years old I feel that I really share your favourite things entertainment wise as I also noticed your Empire Strikes Back and Back To The Future pictures on your wall. If you liked this song, you'll also like "High On You" by the same band.
Love this song Jimi the most beautiful Singer in the world 💗🌍
Too hot to sleep, Burning Heart, any song on Vital Signs album
Play this song at night with the windows down while driving down a busy boulevard.
If you want another survivor song similar to this listen to Didn’t know it was love. Absolute banger
Hell yes. Perfectly crafted song. AOR reps dream come true. Too Hot to Sleep was under promoted as was the band at the time.

Burning Heart. The BEST!

My first concert!❤ You definitely need to do more of their songs
They did a lot of the songs in the Rocky movies. Did you notice that the guys on the train were played by the rest of the band members?
I love desperate dreams as well as I can't hold back and is this love.
You should watch anything from from their Japanese tour. They are great live!
Beautiful songs in the 80s.
Great band. Favorite by them is High On You. Should give it a listen.
Not my favorite band but definitely one of my favorite songs from the era. Jimi had a great voice.
Is This Love and Didn’t Know It Was Love
ua-cam.com/video/AJJSej2ru0c/v-deo.html
A good one.
High On You was dam good too!
They did songs for rocky 3 and rocky 4
The reason the video is unrealistic is because it’s his fantasy after seeing her at the library 😉
New music recommendation would be Richard Marx “Hold onto the night,” and others by him as well.
So good!
Survivor sono la migliore band in assoluto...li amo ❤
Great Reaction

The word you were searching for is “urgency”. I was screaming at my phone for days. URGENCY. F
