Its great to have a wonderful reminder that we can use pen for cards vs more crafty ideas. Getting back to the basics if you will but its not really basic at all. I love these designs.
Thank you for this. Other than the thickness of the pen and the font used, is there anything else I can do to get solid lines instead of a stroke around the letters?
I’m looking for the answer to this too! I always find designs I like and when I go to draw they turn into bubble letters, not single lines. Not sure what the trick is!
If you plan on getting a Cricut you can find plenty of projects in design space that are all ready to go and easy to make that you can try out. If you are still not sure what to do there are plenty of how to videos. I have faith that you can do it. Even if you do not have a Cricut making cards are not that hard. There are different levels and styles you can try, and I am sure the receiver would be happy to get a handmade card from you, even if it was on copy paper.
Another great teaching video Jennifer!!! I just use my marks on Sunday for the first time really love them will be using them more often. Thank you for the video! I enjoy it love all your video's!!! Hugs Liz x
I'm new to your channel, and I'm hooked already. You have a wonderfully friendly demeanour. I'm so excited to get started using your tips and examples, but I have to wait for Santa to deliver my machine 😅 In the meantime, I think I'll binge watch your videos ❤
Yes, you can use the Explorer fine point pens in the Maker 3. The Cricut Explorer and Maker series pens have the same clamp size, so they are interchangeable.
Hi Jennifer! Thanks for this wonderful video! Can the different portions of the card etc, be fill in entirely with the same color pen..or marker? Like the cat bear etc? Can this be done on sticker paper as well? If so can I do one complete sticker with part pen and then print and cut? Like a teddy bear in the center of sticker print and cut, and gold and pink balloons in pen etc? I am quite new and have never used pens etc. thanks so much!!!

@ no it happens with all fonts except joined writing, only happens with Infusible cricut pens. Looks like this is one of the caveats of using Infusible pens!
Here's a step-by-step guide to help you convert your drawing into a single-line drawing for your Cricut: Open Cricut Design Space and upload your drawing. Use the tools in Cricut Design Space to clean up your image. Remove any background and unwanted areas. This will help in reducing double lines. After cleaning up, save your image as a "Cut Image." This step is crucial because it helps in converting your drawing into a single line and set to draw. Sometimes, double lines occur because the image has an outline and a fill. To avoid this, ensure that your image is set to a single path. You can do this by using the "Contour" tool to hide any unwanted lines. If you still see double lines, you might need to go back and further clean up your image or adjust the paths.
I am not sure I understand what you are asking but here is the tutorial and it helps with choosing the fonts. jennifermaker.com/how-to-draw-with-cricut/
I bought two packs of pens, and placed them upside down for storage, still in the sealed package. When I went to use them, they were all dried up or something and no ink would flow. Michaels would not let me return them. I wondered if running hot water over them would work. Any suggestions?
It depends on what types of markers you are using for a specific canvas. Or are you asking that you want to draw on a canvas and then paint it? Here is the tutorial for more details. jennifermaker.com/how-to-draw-with-cricut/
We designed and made them on our 3D printer. There are two styles -- the one on the left uses PVC pipes, so it’s height adjustable to your needs. The one on the right is all 3D printed except for the table, which is a piece of wood screwed to the legs. Both meet the requirements in Cricut’s Safety Instructions for “a flat and stable surface” as the Cricuts are just sitting on stable tables.
What causes double lines of I upload and image and I select draw with pen on my cricut. How can I get it back to single line drawing or writing? Thanks in advance 😊
When you upload an image and select "draw with pen" on your Cricut, double lines can occur because the Cricut is designed to outline the shape rather than fill it in. This means it will draw around the edges of your text or design, creating a double line effect. To get it back to single line drawing or writing, you need to change the font or design to one that is specifically designed for single line drawing.
How can I upload my own art in Cricut design to make my own greeting cards? The design after converting to SVG still bubbles when switching to writing!
When I click "pen" it returns just the outline of my text, any tips for making it so the cricut can write it in one go and not give me an outline of what I want it to write?
Can you please tell me why my new cricut machine only cuts the design on one side? I'm pretty upset as it's all new and I am using my new cardboard and then can't weed it as only one side of each item has cut,the other doesn't even show on the backside. I really like the drawing as I can't stuff it up. 😢😢 Trying to make some simple designs and adjusting the depth and what I'm using as I learned from you is still not helping.I love this machine and don't want to give up. Please Help 🙏
I have. The machine was in the process of cutting when the light came on and it stopped. I unplugged the machine and cleared out the debris, plugged it back in and it was fine.

Absolutely!!
These are so cute. May I ask why the machine needs to know the color of pen when doing the sublimation mug please and thank you?
Yay! I’m glad you’re doing this. I need to make some thank you cards for my tiny business 😁
Wow i was just surfing and found this! I have a cricket that i bought at good will hope i can get it to work!!

Love this. Haven't got into card marking, because I didn't know how to do this.

Can you use a hat press to sublimation on a mug
I'm just about to make a sign for our elementary pod's hallway/door decoration competition. Perfect timing!❤
Fine point and sublimation for starters
Hi from Canada. Warching replay.
You are such a Beautiful Blessing ❤️
Hi this a great video but I have a doubt can I use explorer fine point pens in the maker 3?

Thanks for the great tutorial
This is something I'm very interested in!
The extra pieces of paper are to wrap around the mug as well to help protect your cricut mug press from any ink transfer.
I like this!!
This is so cute and cool ! 😊

Good evening from chilly Alabama!
What are the extra blanks of paper used for?
Great tutorial, is there anyway to stop the infusible ink 0.4 leaving dots of ink on every letter it draws?
Perhaps try a different font to see if that changes.
@ no it happens with all fonts except joined writing, only happens with Infusible cricut pens. Looks like this is one of the caveats of using Infusible pens!
Very nice 😊
Thank you! Cheers!
I missed the live/premiere because I was cricuting. LOL.
I love the mug template ❤
Good evening😊
Question . . . do you have to use Laser printing paper for the sublimation?
You need to use sublimation paper for sublimation.
Love mugs❤
Hi all! I'm hoping to master this craft 😊
Do you have a tutorial of how to convert youre drawing into a drawing for the cricut? I get dubble lines if i set my settings to draw.
Here's a step-by-step guide to help you convert your drawing into a single-line drawing for your Cricut:
Open Cricut Design Space and upload your drawing. Use the tools in Cricut Design Space to clean up your image. Remove any background and unwanted areas. This will help in reducing double lines.

would love to know where to purchase that mug template you used
You can find the template in the tutorial!🥰

All’s good. Thank you.

With sublimation markers does sublimation paper work better ?
The infusible ink makers only need laser paper to work well. jennifermaker.com/infusible-ink-pen-projects/

When doing layers on svgs how do I group colours together and not individually please
The same colors will be grouped together when you cut them and will be placed on the same mat for cutting if the size fits.
Can you draw on a canvas board?
CAN YOU USE FUSIBALE INK ON t- SHIRTS - LIKE IRON ON?

Hi from NC
Where did you get your cricut stand?
We designed and made them on our 3D printer. There are two styles -- the one on the left uses PVC pipes, so it’s height adjustable to your needs. The one on the right is all 3D printed except for the table, which is a piece of wood screwed to the legs. Does high quality Inkjet Paper not work? Does it have to be Laser copy paper?
It should be laser paper or you can also try the universal paper for both laser and inkjet.
@@JenniferMaker Thanks for responding.
Is there anyway to fill in letters when it just outlines the font?

Glad it was helpful!❤️
Did anyone watch The Price is Right today? On of the guess the prices clock game was a Cricut maker with some accessories. The price was $627.

Hi from nh
Have you ever had a red light on your cricut maker?
I have. The machine was in the process of cutting when the light came on and it stopped. I unplugged the machine and cleared out the debris, plugged it back in and it was fine.
I make cards 90percent of the time .
Is there a way to sublimate onto the mug without the mug press?
You can use other items for sublimation. jennifermaker.com/sublimation-for-beginners/
