Well done Dodson!! The Mosin is one of my favorite rifles for SHTF. Great job on the slings, they are needed for steady shooting!! Thanks for sharing this with us!❤🤝👍👍👊🫡😎🎯💯✌️
Interesting!!
I've done similar with just a hammer and anvil. Now I'm pretty experienced at beating metal into shape but it's not hard to do. As far as closing it, you could do it in a vise. That was probably done at the company level. Farmed out to the armoury to save production costs
I agree. Excellent comment and info. Take care and stay safe.
Aye. Great info. Just thinking. Box spring wire from a box spring bed seems fairly durable. Wondering how well that would work? Hmmm?
Not as strong as steel, but what do you think about zip ties as a sling swivel?
Zip ties, scare me because they can break unexpectedly from shock loading. I would look at them as a temporary solution if nothing else is available. If you use them, there are some that are molded around a strip of steel wire. I would use two at each end of the sling to reduce the chance of failure.
