There's been a few of those incidents now where turtles have used surfboards or paddle boards to avoid sharks. Definitely interesting behavior and would be interesting to see further studies on that. Also seriously don't touch sharks. That stingray video seriously made me sigh in exasperation.
It must happen extremely often, tiger sharks and turtles have had a long relationship. I suppose every now and then a turtle will try to put something between it and a tiger shark because the turtles that do that go on to be successful, so there is a more of a chance that their offspring would try to implement that behavior, probably with anything floating in the ocean be it a paddle boarder or a log.

And yes, the YBS tiger shark video was my favorite, too. Territorial bites intrigue me as I think a lot of bites and full-blown shark attacks may be due to this.
I heard about that turtle and shark incident and the narrator said that it seems that the smart turtle was deliberately protecting itself by putting the paddle board between him and the shark.

Just curious on where you fall in regards to human intervention in the case of the blue shark that you showed? Ie Should you let nature take its course and avoid the risk that a struggling shark poses.
It’s so tough, but in a situation like that I think I’d leave it. If a shark is stranding it could be a very ill individual, perhaps with some kind of disease. Releasing that individual back out into the wild might spread that disease to more individuals. Obviously that’s all hypothetical, but I think it’s very context dependant!
Airlifted for a pinky? Phh I got run over, broke my back and crawled a fair distance up the road before someone stopped me! 😃 My question today is about porbeagle sharks if you have time. Chibi cousins of the great white I understand. We have lots of them here, fair sizes too. Why aren't they eating anyone? Thanks for another great video. Really appreciate them x
Thats some badass recovery from you there! R.e Porbeagles, their diet is mostly based around fish species, they're also a fair bit smaller than whites on average, so generally wouldn't be going anywhere near people!

🤣🤣🤣 ...unfortunately can't fix stupid for some of these people interacting with sharks 🤦♀️
Love your channel!! We have recently had 2 Great Whites take bites out of kayaks down here, one NSW, other SA.... after all it is baby Humpback migration season...

It's gotta be Florida man. Who else tries to grab a shark? (sadly lots of people do)
I believe you mean morons. 😏
Who else but Florida man!
Florida man lost his finger and didn't flinch.
