Script writers try their hardest to follow the source meterial but at the same time do it under 1 or 1 1/2 hr of content, Of course authors and script writers will clash each other. Well at least they don't follow hollywood producers that totally destroyed the source material (netflix the witcher series)
It’s a sad incident, but this year, a manga artist took her own life due to a conflict over the script. This incident brought to light numerous accusations that screenwriters often have more control over the scripts than the original authors, which became a hot topic. I’m not sure about the theater world, but I think that’s why the manga artists said in Season 1 that live-action adaptations are something they should avoid. In most cases, it seems that the original creators’ opinions are rarely taken into account.
This is not only in anime or Japanese industry. Brandon Sanderson is right now the best selling fantasy author in the world, we are talking Game of Thrones levels of readers buying his books legally WITHOUT having an adaptation yet. He has been working in getting one for years but he ends up rejecting most of them 'cause they won't let him have the freedom he wants to ensure the quality. That in 'murica. Authors don't have a say once they sign the contract, they can suggest things but actually making the changes they ask for is optional in most contracts.
@@drakesacrum8445 It's a very sad fact. Personally, I don't mind if the adaptation differs from the original work as long as it's what the original creator wants, but if it's not what they want, no matter how entertaining it becomes, it's still sad.
...I think the kind of irony in this fact is that Oshi no ko is slated for both a japanese live action movie and tv series.
@@asagi-16 Agreed. I think there are cases where doing something original is better like The Boys. The comic is just gore and edgy stuff but the tv series actually does cool stuff with the characters. This is not always the case and most of the time the author is the one that knows better about what their audience want to see and what they loved about the og stuff. One Piece live action was successful 'cause they gave Oda the freedom to reject anything that he didn't like and in the end, the live action is completely different and almost alien to the original plot but it still works, it still feels like One Piece and the characters feel like they should feel.
GRRM also said screenwriters nowadays eiger to make the story their own instead of just adapting it.

Well if you have an experience when it comes to screenplay or as a writer/creator you wont be surprise by it.
That manga author is an absolute demon and I love it lmao Comes in on day 5 of the rehearsal and is just like "Yea I'm actually not a fan of any of this." I personally think that she signed off on the script because she thought it was just gonna be a Mediocre cast so she was ok with a mediocre script fitting that, but now that she see's all the talent that the actors/actresses have, she wants the script to fully utilize that potential. I'm excited about the way this change could affect everyone's grasp on the character they're portraying, and hopefully this change will allow Akane to shine a bit more in her role and have a better grasp on this Stage version of the character.
It will be explained in the next episode but she basically never greenlit the script

🎉🎉🎉 Loving the first episode. That part of the play is such an animation flex. I really felt immersed and as if I'm watching the stage too.
The production of this series is so good. In the scene when Akane sits down look at Kana in the background. She is moving as well.

9:51 Aqua also tends to lie a lot to himself, saying things like he has no talent to be an actor, or that he has no passion to want to compete with others. Only for us to later see him analyze Kana and Taiki's performances, just like Akane.
Haven't read the manga, nor has the person who had this thought, Otaku Spirit. Most likely the Manga writer wanted Akane's character to be the main love interest, but Kana's character got popular amongst readers and the manga writer was instucted to focus away from Akane's character (the character she wanted) and focus on Kana instead. This play is her opportunity to write the story she wanted, not push the princess aside...rewrite the whole thing.
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. We've all seen what happens when adaptions ignore the source material. This season is going to be an interested ride, I'm certain of it.

I think the author getting to see just how talented the cast was is what made her want to completely revise the script. If the cast were like the same as that show in season 1 then I think she would have just let it go because in the end its more than just the script that needs work. Its because of the amazing talent of the cast, that she wants to completely change it to something she believes is a good and proper adaptation that the cast can pull off and deserve.
I could be wrong and will probably be explained next episode lol.

This is going to be a very heavy Aqua centric season. Season 3 will be mostly Ruby.

I think Japanese people can read Kanji normally, but I think that is read as boujin unless you have studied Japanese history properly, although I remember learning about sakimori in history class in elementary school or junior high school.

Personally I thought that the author of the manga sees herself as Princess Saya, she signs off on the work originally thinking it wouldn't be that bad, but than seeing the rehearsals "wtf"
damn, reaction views are rough for this first episode, I really hope the season is doing well viewership wise, cause the production seems top notch and couldn't have been cheap. I'm probably getting ahead of myself here, but I love this show to death and would be destroyed if it got canned

I'm quite sure Tokyo Blade is a inspired by Demon Slayer, since when the author got to this part of the manga, Demon Slayer was the most popular anime of the year. Of course the part of the script writer and the stage has nothing to do with Demon Slayer, he just made up a fake manga in the story that clearly is referenced by Demon Slayer.
I feel more a Bleach influence, actually! The way conflicts develop in the story.
It's a mix of different manga. But, demon slayer is one of it.

I doubt that there’ll ever be an adaptation of anything that everyone likes. For instance, the live One Piece adaptation. While it got a lot of positive reviews, I’m sure there are people who didn’t have faith in it to begin with, and even now, they’d claim that it was disappointing. Better yet, the live adaptation of The Last Airbender. You have the original creators bowing out of the project, and I remember several reactors a bit upset that things were changed here and there. Not to mention that Aang wasn’t “Aang”. Then there’s Amber from the Invincible show being hated over her comic book counterpart, as well as others who either had their gender or race changed for the show.

Ok I’m putting a spoiler warning here because what I’m going to say even though technically not a actual spoiler since it’s a action and not direct information, but that action will reveal certain important information as long you payed attention which would mean yah that is a spoiler (I should mention I’m not a manga reader and have only watched the anime but I also have read some information on the fandom wiki for Oshi no Ko which is why I’m aware of certain things even though I’m a anime only watcher myself)
Anyway after that long warning the action that I was specifying was for you to pay attention to certain characters faces and I mean really pay attention to certain characters faces as all the new characters we just saw in this episode one of them is heavily important for dramatic affect and information for this series. Also what Joe said during his reaction was both wrong but also technically right in terms of what he was getting at, as he was technically wrong on what the character he was talking about and who that character has a connection to is, but the idea of something like that is actually right but it’s a completely different character within this episode and it’s a different character that this character has a connection towards too.
I read the manga and the 2nd para is so convoluted its barely a spoiler.
I get what you are saying, but honestly before it's actually pointed out in the show, in most cases the viewers/readers will just consider it's the mangaka not able to draw too many different faces and therefore all the characters look similar in some ways. At least I don't think anyone would catch that before it was confirmed in the show.
@@debdal6 yah I wrote it that way to cover my boundaries if a extremely strict “don’t want to be spoiled” rule person come in, plus I actually didn’t want to try and spoil it but because of what Joe reaction was like and he did that with the wrong character it just hit a bit of my emotions wanting to say something about it so I did it this way so people that do understand will get it while also avoiding actually properly spoiling it
