Привет!
MAPPA, Ufotable: We spend our budget on making the action scenes look insane.
Doga Kobo: Girls innit.
Real
I'd say the opening part of doga kobo but some scenes of their studio adaptions have some -little- bit of fan service
FEET.
WE WILL WIN THIS FOR MOTHER RUSSIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wondering waves caught me off guard 🤣
A real man admits what he sees and thanks the girl for the treat
Sumire Uesaka voicing her is just perfect casting because she is already had interest in Russian for so many years.
As a russian Its so weird to hear people from other nations try to speak russian.
Btw "milashka/милашка" should be translated as "cutie" instead of "cute". Basically, its the kind of word you would probably use while talking privately with your friend about cute animals or your crush. Kinda means the same thing, but its a more endearing form of the word "милый / милая / милое", which just means "cute" and can be said in public without embarrassing yourself.
解説ありがとう
Thanks for explaining this.
I think Crunchyroll actually did translate it as "cutie" in the subtitles.
More specifically "You cutie you" was the Crunchyroll sub translation.
@@BoomdroopInfernal-Chi it's a bit inconsistent
It seems difficult to find someone who speaks Russian in Japan, but what kind of miracle is it to have a popular voice actor with Russian as a special skill?"
That’s a Sumipe for you ;)
можно было найти русских актёров озвучки которые хорошо говорят на японском, было бы лучше по моему мнению
@@applehead2004mjA real Russian voice actor would lack the "Japanese anime character sub" feeling.
@@minihatsunemikufan не согласен. Русские могут прекрасно говорить на японском, а вот японцы на русском не могут, всегда сильный акцент
@@applehead2004mj I've never seen anyone from overseas speak Japanese perfectly lol.
I gotta say, this show has had to be one of the drippiest student uniforms in anime rightnow.
in the manga, the school is meant for aristocrats, elites, and nobles (this one im not sure of) idk why theyre kind of playing it down in the anime
Masachika Kuze: New fetish unlocked
Peak first ep, Masachika goated ML, Alya goated FL. Had so much fun watching this ep

14:50 very funny because she has the same JP VA with Nagatoro 😂
Yeah I felt bad for the lonely guy in chat who got no recognition.
MILASHKA!
хах, необычное чувство...... смотреть на то как англо язычный человек смотрит японское аниме в котором говорят на руссом
Я нашла русского человека) 😂
Man, all 3 middle school students in Japan that knows Russian language are all put into the same school xD
To be fair, 2 of those children are sisters
@@ivandphantom9028 true, but still xD
1:05 You can always spot the f*ckboy.
there were some changes from original. in the manga the dude learned russian from watching russian movies with his grandpa. and the sock scene played differently and was a bit spicier.
It was quite erotic but also it was atmospheric with her sitting in the window like that. The manga is very well drawn.
Funny how people say original but then cite a manga adaptation that only covered the first LN volume as a source
Russia girl is just a perfect manga maked perfect anime🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Man’s doubling down knowing that she likes him. He knows he has a safety net.
Hilarious first episode! Was looking forward to this adaptation for a while. Doga Kobo are really establishing themselves as a top tier studio for me.
17:14 “What are the ‘baps’?” I have no idea what ‘baps’ are, but in Japanese, it’s more like “pure boob-lover” (“kissui no oppai seijin” 生粋のおっぱい星人… literally, boobs-alien).
The toy with him like nagatoro joke is extra funny because shes the VA for nagatoro
17:50 I like this main character, he got balls.
11:24 Thats what she said😂
They changed a lot of the things from the manga and adapted 8 chapters for episode 1
that scene of him putting the sock on her and ending up in a questionable position in the window, they cut it, right?
@@user-ym6ne1ud2uI was waiting for that too. But this anime adaptation is based from the light novel. As a manga reader, IDK the difference between the source materials
@@sammed473 :(
@@sammed473it’s was different from the LN too. In the LN, Masachika got pushed down to the ground and he started writing the word “pink” on the floor with his finger
The manga is erotic and atmospheric, it draws you in. Their intimate moments are awesome. The anime on the other hand... It's just not it.
Alya is the childhood friend becouse the eye color
Nope
Spoliers alert:
His childhood friend is alya's big sister
Nope, first they don't have the same hair color, second the mc said his childhood friend was russian and alya is half Russian only and lastly if alya is the childhood friend then she wouldn't hide her feelings in Russian because she would know the mc understands Russian unless she doesn't know they're the same person but the child friend clearly knows the MC's name so alya is unlikely to be the childhood friend.
@@kimpresto8292 LN tells you alya's hair used to be blonde before she dyed it, but it is not her (spoiler alert )
alya's sister(masha) is the girl, but hair colour changes as you grow up. (volume 4 revealed)
I'm from Russia. Most likely it will be obvious, the tone and accent are quite different from the Russian norm, it sounds good in the original, but if you try to repeat it with the same intonation, it sounds like a cringe. In any case, I'm glad that there are more complicated phrases here than hello, vodka, balalaika))
like тоже is pronounced like точе..
Please check the ED because it will change every episode. And It will be cover songs but the 1st one is epic because it's 70's and the lyrics just fit it. Crazy.
Ok but why your "milashka" sounded more natural than hers 😭
the way he says MILASHKA😍😍😍
I love this anime, it's really cute! 😂❤️
20:40 "She says the same thing and says it means different things, and then says different things and says it means the same thing." You should listen to the Japanese while you read subtitles. Do you know how many translations I've seen for "itadakemasu", "hai", and "so ka" (or whatever than damn word is that I hear all the time but that G translate doesn't recognize).
I think this happens because some Japanese words (I think) actually have such a definition that multiple English words are the correct translations of a single Japanese word.
Like I think Itadakimasu means both "let's eat" and "thanks for the food" but both of those translations are correct.
I might be mistaken but pretty sure I'm right.
And then some Japanese words have different translations based on context, I think.
"Hai" can mean "Yes" but I think it also sometimes means "right" and sometimes even "Roger" or "Indeed".
The crazy thing is I'm pretty sure all of those different English translations for just this one Japanese word are all correct.
@@BoomdroopInfernal-Chi Same thing with English, but we just don't see it. The Inuit (native Alaskans) have many words for what we would just call "snow".
@@GeraldWalls . Oh that's wild.
6:55 Joe. That's one of the best things you've ever come up with. I LOVE that revenge/confession.
Google Translate (and Lens agrees): milashka == милашка == cutie
More like “super cutie”
@@applehead2004mj Just going by MLT, and we all know how good that is...
@@GeraldWalls What is MLT?
@@applehead2004mj Machine Language Translation (from what I've seen in manga translations).
listening to Sumire Uesaka reminded me there's a new Nagatoro chapter I still have to read.
the animation for a romance anime? it's god tier
The funny part is joe could have literally said solo leveling arise but literally forgot the easiest one 🤣🤣🤣
I enjoyed your reaction and comments bro, very entertaining. You should definitely react to the second episode
Excellent first episode!
Hope we keep seeing these reaction! 😂
I can’t wait for the twist
I'm probably gonna enjoy it either way, but the translation seems a little weird and the localizers are definitely adding a bit it feels like, with all the internet slang or just out of context use of words like bap (which is British slang for women's breasts btw, idk why a Japanese person would be using british slang). Tho the fan translation I've seen doesn't add all these stuff (like they just say that he's a fan of boobs and butts in the fan sub iirc), its still pretty awkward in it's translation at times.
I think this localizer is against using the words "boobs". I agree that this set of subs was horrible. The channel I watched at has much better subs, and they did use "'boobs".
18:20 TBH if I got caught slacking I would also double down on it.
What? Why? I just can't understand how that could be realistic 🤔
@@World-427 Well I caught in a variation of it. When my friend found out I have a crush on her. She interrogated me about it. At which point I doubled down turned it into a confession.
@@bryansalaver3084 that's a fair point you don't have any other options then 🤣🤣 although I would much rather not get myself into that sort of trouble in the first place which I'm quite skillful at.
@@World-427 I didn't want to get in that situation. Still incidents happen that lead into that situation.
10:25 Did you notice for the two Kujo sisters the naming order was Given, Patronymic, Family (and spelled out in katakana, I think) and for the Japanese girl it was Family, Given (spelled out using kanji)? The translated Russian is also spelled out it katakana. (StefyO said that the Russian was OK but was mispronounced, and that they usually played music over it pretty heavily so it was hard to hear it.)
6:15 the same could be said for HER too, though. they're both SO dense about that fact, I need it to come crashing down HARD at one point 🤣
Brought to you by Quentin Tarantino.
16:23 As white as the Snow fields of Siberia
As a light novel reader I can assure you you'll enjoy this romcom series. As long as they keep going like this.
First episode was great adaptation from the novel imo
Rozé from code geass an will in Wistoria va also voices kuze in this show
So i guess this is what happened after the pucci reset
18:14 Aaaand he doubles down 😂
3:24 the orange cat is milashka too ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
as a Russian, I can say with confidence that the voice acting is very good, although with an accent p.s I love your reactions
But is her "Milishka" really the Russian way to say "You cutie you"?
And what about the rest of what she said in Russian and how the anime translates it?
I really hope that Alya Russian is accurate to Real Russian.
@@BoomdroopInfernal-ChiRussians are more straightforward. A completely different word order. Another stress. A different intonation. Alya is a typical japanese tsundere who sometimes speaks russian. In the interview, VA communicated better. I think this is more the problem of the original author, who did not really try to understand another culture and mentality.
@@CanCanbI4 Yes, the novel author doesn't know any Russian. When he was creating the story, he only wanted to select one language that most Japanese don't understand. Also, this story was not a long and detailed story at first, it was only a small light novel on the website. It was fixed into a long and fun story after a famous publisher found it and decided to make it big. After that, this light novel went viral, but few readers discussed the Russian issues because most Japanese don't know it at all !
@@CanCanbI4 .
Ah so a good speaker of Russian adapting poor Russian dialogue into the anime from it's source material.
@@BoomdroopInfernal-Chi I won't say it's good. Rather not bad. But she's generally trying, and that's good.
Love the Russian language with Japanese accent and cute voice.❤❤❤
14:40
The animation was so good for an anime like this. I just know thisll be a good one
It is the same people who are doing Oshi no Ko.
Аля и правда милая
well at least he's not dense 😅
So we have Russian-blood girl and Brazil-blood girl in this season. Anyone else?
I'm already sold, S tier tsundere and stocking play. This series is peak degeneracy.
Ngl idk what it is but I’m really vibing with this show hopefully the shows keeps getting better
RAHHHHHHHH THIS IS ANIME OF THE SEASONNN
Idk if I'm mixing my thoughts with some other anime/manga but the childhood friend stuff, I feel like I read or watch about this with nisekoi long time ago. But I like the dynamic of this and nisekoi especially the 1st season with the monogatari vibes
Seems like OnK helped Doga Kobo a lot lol now they have money to spare in animation
There is also rozen maiden anime in which the dolls are antiquity.
Milashka has the same word root as 'sMILE'
4:42 I almost spat out milk😂
The sister has brown eyes the Russian friend has blue eyes like alya
Can we talk about how good the animation on this anime is?
As a russian speaker, its strange to listen. VA did a good work, but it's like kid trying read words first time. Anyway. Ты не милашка, ты человек высокой культуры.😂
like when she says тоже its like точе lol
Как японец, живущий в России, проснулся наяву
Now i have to learn russian
You gotta realize, he's kinda saying what she's saying, just she's saying it in Russian because she thinks she can get away with it.
It makes it funnier that she calls him out on it when she's definitely into the lewds. And cutes.
You know my friend, when I saw some shorts of the anime, I didn't know the first episode of the anime has already aired two days ago when I search here in YT you're literally below on the anime I was searching for, I finished the anime first then I watch your reaction.
I need nisekoi last season already
These translations are WIIIIILD man! Maybe the pirates sites did get it right after all (especially as a manga reader)
This was so funny.
2:29 don't worry bro you are not alone 😅😅😅😅
21:00 Probably Ayla's sister but who knows. Hair is more likely to darken than lighten with age (until it turns grey and falls out). My brother was a towhead as a young child and has brown hair now. One/two years older vs the same age doesn't look that much different way back then.
22:20 "Seat neighbor? Whatever you call them." When FMC and MC sit next to each other the term is "romantic interest".
this show is so peak
Alya VA deserves a round of applause. It's clear that it's kinda hard for her to speak in russian but she really tries. Even though some hard phrases are fumbled, most of the time you can understand what she's saying if you're a native speaker.
The va play some russian character before
Sumire Uesaka (Alya VA) is fluent in Russian since she is took an interest in Russian culture and majored in the Russian language during her time in university.
@@John_Alter she doesn't seem fluent to me, she's doing really good, but her accent still really strong
I mean, she did sing in Russian before for Girls und Panzer. Her character was singing Katyusha. While riding tanks through Soviet winter. Yes, you read that right
it's probably to makes it kinda understandable to the japanese too
but yea her russian accent when play as russian anime character is still the same as when she was doing Idolm@ster anime almost 9 years ago
I read the manga for this, and I'll just say, there is a LOT more content in the sock scene, it's insane
Man, now I'm going to end up needing to read the manga.
I already have too many manga to read.
lol i have to see it, i have only read the 8 light novels..
Milashka means cute or cutie i think 😂
I Knew You're Gonna Watch This Anime,
I Only Read This In Manga Now An Anime,
Definitely Watch This And Your Reaction
When was this live ???
watched it around 11:30 AM EST right after Oshi no Ko. Both release at 11:00 AM EST
когда ты заговорил по русски меня аж передернуло)))
Joe: Wow Wow wow he can no longer be married next : Милашка
The subs on the episode you watched seem overly cringe compared to the version I watched. These localizers are starting to become overbearing and annoying. Almost makes it feel like you can't trust the subs. Pretty sad when sites that mostly rely on fansubs have versions that feel more authentic.
Let's gooo
Youll become ery familiar with red bean soup as you go through one piece
Wait, what’s with the Nisekoi slander!?!? Is it that bad?!
Hey joe, if you havent seen it yet, there's a new released movie of Bunny girl senpai
F E E T THUMBNAIL LETS GOOO
I think it means cute
I don’t know about language specifically, but I’m definitely a sucker for a non-American accent.
The subtitle kinda goofy ngl
I play Snowbreak
Russian is my native, and i consider that Uesaka-san's russian pronunciation is not as good as i was waiting for (i know a bunch of Russian-learning japanese people that speak much more clearly after a couple of years of training), BUT!
IT IS STILL CUTE AF, AND ALSO CRINGY AF, AND THIS CRINGY EFFECT MAKES IT EVEN MORE CUTE AF FOR SOME REASON! I just cannot stop repeating to listen to her saying "Милашка~" :3
Я больше угораю с автора чем с Алисы.
Her and nagatoro have the same VA by the way
