- YOU CAN USE MULTIPLE Y-SPLITTERS FOR AS MANY AMPS AS YOU WANT. Had a lot of people asking how to use them so I made this video. Sorry if its kinda confusing I should have gotten better prepared but hopefully you get the point

Finally came across a video that showed me what I needed ! I have a aftermarket radio that only had one set of outputs for a amp, but I have 2 RCAs running for highs and lows. I was going crazy trying to figure out how I was gonna do it without splicing and tapping into the wires. Just ordered, thanks for the video!
I have a question my head unit has a green output for the subwoofer. I got a wife splitter to split from my speaker or my from my app to my head unit and when I plug it in it makes my voice on the speaker is low. what should I do to get my voice back or how can I get my voice on the speakers back, but still using the green output in back of the head unit for the subwoofer
Good video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
i went an got the y splitters to hook up a amp for door speakers but for some reason they are only producing bass.. i hooked the y splitters in the rear of the car with 1 long rca running to the back from the radio then added the splitters i tapped into the subwoofer amp for the remote wire also my radio only has 1 set of rcas in the back.. any guesses where i went wrong?
Would be nice if you could finish the install of the rca going into the amplifiers when you split them up say your left - right left going into 2 n right going into 2. Does the left n right go to seperate amps or does 1 left n 1 right going into each amplifiers? Thats what im trying to figure out ? Anyhow thanks for the video! If anyone has the answer would be great! Awesome Tyty
Ok i have a radio with one blue sub cord and the rest are white and red im running two amps to each sub how do i run it where i can put my red and white cord in the back of my head unit
my god I came out of this video even more confused than I was before... can you just simplify everything and make a steady one minute video
How would I be able to do this with the Clarion eqs-746...?
@DanneVolvo I've had pretty good luck with all rca's. Just better safe than sorry IMO. You just taught me something and made me realize something. I might have been making mistakes when hooking up my crossover and processor. I've been trying to hook up 2 reds and 2 whites together. OOO man I gotta try some things this week. Thanks man
@Loudizzzzle I'm lucky on my expensive pioneer HU. It has 4 volt preouts. Yet another good idea. I forgot about the ACM. I'm gonna make another vid about this and use people suggestions. That lou. I always like good advice
These are great if you are running multiple drivers running the same freq to different amps when you can't daisy chain or have a master amp. It also works if you dont have passive crossovers and you need to send a signal to your midbass in your 3way setup. I use a pair of 3 dollar ones for the 10s in my doors (midbass) with no problems. :)
so then what wold go to the main L and R input on the eq??
lot of comments on your topic seem harsh, you are 100% correct ,it works in a pinch, the loss of signal is negligable especially if your going into an amp, good video thanks!
Props for enlightening people. My 2 cents... if you have a head unit with only 1 set of preouts... chances are they arent going to be 4 volt. When ya take less than 2 volts and split in half... you have a lower signal to noise ratio. If ya don't have the money... use Y splitters until you can afford an Audio Control Matrix. That device takes 1 low volt in and turns it into 3 hi volt outs. Then you have your 4 channel amp being fed good signal, and also your sub amp being fed good signal. LIKED!
I have a 4 channel amp that will power four speakers and one powered subwoofer. I have a head unit with one set of preouts. Would this be a good candidate for the Audio Control Matrix?
Good video. So I have an old sound system that i use to make the sound of my Tv better. With this cables, i can put the sound of my laptop on the sound system too? No problem with the voltage by duplicate the inputs? Thanks man
if on my headunit its sub Out preout, if i hook up some Y's splitter will i get bass in my speaker's amps since i dont have front/rear or any of em
firstly thanks for your videos they have helped me on numerous issues. but i have to ask you this, i have two splitters running from one set of rca's, when connecting the 2Xcables to the splitters at back of head unit , do i cross over one RED from each cable to the splitter on the head unit RED , and one WHITE from each cable to the splitter on the WHITE on head unit, i have audio but would a wrong connection make for bad audio?
thanks for the video, helped. after connecting Xplod to Kenwood M1804 I can hear frequency through speakers connected to second amp when headlights are on, or pressing the brake. I have a good frame ground for second amp, but curious if you had an idea... maybe add a second ground or distributor for ground? to eliminate the headlight/brake press frequency through speakers connected to that second amp. thanks
sorry meant Kenwood Amp now connected via RCA to the main amp Sony Xplod. Xplod pushing 2 10" Kenwood subs, and Kenwood pushing (2)6x9s and (2) 6.5" Kickers.
Great explanation
So, why don't you just use that adapter on the amp end and run a single good quality coaxial rca from the hu back to the amp?
@TimeKeeperJ Thanks bro. I'm glad I can help
@casperskafs haha planned on it bro and got another question say i got a couple xs power batteries, do i need to hook them up to alternator or just charge them periodically
alright cool man thanks! appreciate it!
@SPLjunky22 Yep. Your getting engine feedback. You prolly have your rca's running on the same side of the car as your power wire which will pretty much always get you engine feedback. If not you have a bad ground
@ph1ldav1sFROSTED I think it might since that output is for bass only
Are you using a mono block amp? Those are ONLY for bass. If your using a 2 or 4 channel make sure your switch is set to mid and NOT low
great info
And we love you for it
You completely read my mind when you said “man I can only one amp”
love it, you did alright man. "you can get two male one female, or one female two male. or you can get two female one male, or one male two females. "
@TheScottishbear GREAT info bro. Appreciate it
I did this to 15s n 2 amps but when i did it sound different lower that when i had one
So your splitting off of 1 channel. I would like to do it on my head unit due to only one set of RCA on the rear. Will it take wattage away from the stereo head unit. Thank you
No it will not take any wattage away from your stereo speakers.
@casperskafs well come to find out it dont matter i finally got my other amp in and already had 3 sets of preamp outs i was thinkin of my old head unit that only had one i done got the y splitters and everything
@sikvibration LOL I should have been more prepared on this video
@odin5150 a splitter just is a double output if you put it on the red side then that splitter will be 2 red and splitter the other sides they wil be white pretty simple and for stereo vs mono if ya keep the red to the red side inputs and white to the other then your fine just think of a splitter at the end is like running a extra set of rcas
i have a 5 ch amp and a 2 ch 3000 w amp whith a headunit with only 1 ch
any thoughts on how to connect this
You never got an answer. I was about to ask the same question.
what if your headunit has a set of output for F, and R/Sw??..howd you connect that up to a Eq..
F is for front. R/sw is rear/subwoofer. Connect accordingly to your eq
@odin5150 If you take one the red and one white from the HU you still get stereo. But if you take both white or both red you get mono
2,4,6,8 Basically you can tie ten amps and ten speakers to one jack input...but your music quality will suffer just like I did watching this video of yours. Its not that simple. Top of the line head units have --6 rca jacks--- in the back for a reason. They isolate low, mid and High signal frequency to different components. Your front speakers and tweets with cross overs get your front channel jacks left and right. At top. The next two rca jacks cover the 6x9 speakers in rear. And the last set of jacks is for your sub. 2, 4, 6 pick up sticks! 3 channels. 4 speakers and a sub.
But If you are using a 4 speakers and you have 4 channel sub for 4 speakers and a 2 channel amp is needed for your sub . Otherwise you need a 5 channel sub.
Now for 6 speakers and a sub... If you add two extra speakers to the front, or middle of car you will need to tap into or split the mid range jacks and already being used, and add an amp as well.If you can get a smaller 3rd amp for the extra two speakers for your six speaker system and basically have a 6.1 system. Six speakers and 1 sub. Which is A perfect set up for car audio. You would need to split the last two speakers on rca cable so that the extra speakers pick up the signal from the radio.
Inn your case you are splitting the output signal as a full sprectrum without cross over which means you have low signals going to tweets and smaller speakers as well as low frequencies going there as well. Sound quality really suffers. Not great. If it was okay they would never have added 6 rca jacks to the back of top selling head units like Alpine's CDE-HD149BT. As well as other brands.
Do it your way if you want but it is not the correct way. Tell everyone it works, thats fine. But one channel or 2 rca jacks is not designed to run 4 speakers and a sub. Sorry.
Thanks.
One thing to think about when using Y-splitters is that you also splitt your RCA voltage. But I have to disagree with you for once about the cheap ones. I only use cheap RCA, I have tried a really expensive one once but I did'nt notice any difference what so ever. So went back to my cheap RCA. They cost like $10 for 30 feet
False... You don't lose any voltage... If you want to see a test done to prove that you don't lose any voltage check out the unofficial sundown page... They do the test and show the results
but what if your HU has 2 outputs (RL) and your amp only one input?
I guess you go the opposite way? 2 rca into 1
So, after all that how should i hook them into the amps?
That was literally the only thing I wanted to know. I am fairly sure people can figure out how to plug them into the output RCA's without this video. It's the only place you can put them.
Damn smokey! that makes sense. Sorry Kids!!
Yep
I have lots of rca cables laying around and I was wondering if I can make my own splitter?
I would say its possible if you have the time
Totally possible
@zacharybg17 It might but I've never tested it
i have a cheap pair of ear buds and had a pair expensive ear buds the expensive broke fast and cheap ones still work.
Some times the expensive shit isn't what its all cracked up to be
@MrAcuralvr Your right just damn expensive
Hey bro, I’ve split my rca cable to my 2 amps but it doesn’t seem to work properly? Sounds weak kinder????? Do you know what’s the problem?
That is weird. Maybe try diff splitters or rca's?
No if you split the rca cable coming from your head unit doesn’t it split the voltage? Because when I put one set of rca’s into 1 amp it’s fine but once I connect the other rca cable into my 2nd amp it drops voltage?
@@teemarsters5477 I could be wrong but pretty sure you should have an amp that has pass thru rcas to connect to your second ampo maybe
@zacharybg17 daisy chain them all together. Only one has to be hooked up to the alt
Haha good video
You funny ash 😂
hahahahha, awesome vid dude!
@D3AThCAl2DS Hell yea. Thats how my nice pioneer HU us
@casperskafs No problems, it's not always so easy :)
@casperskafs Thanks man thats exactly what i thought but it still helps to get someone's opinion on it! Thx!
@powerpunchhx2 Thanks J
the male female concept, i learned in plumbing, then you apply that knowledge to everything. But explaining is a bit difficult cause you never know who is watching. I was looking for something else this video reminded me that i do have those splitters somewhere, thanks
Thanks for watching man!!!
will using these cut your preamp out in half
alright this one made more sence, lol. so if i wanna use 2 amplifiers, do i just do the same hook up will the red and white still work on both amps?
I did this but I'm only getting audio on the bridged sub channel. I have a 4 channel amp. No audio from the 2 free channels. If I put my ear close to the speaker connected to the amp channel I can hear that its on. Lol "Know what I mean" 😂😂😂
I don't think it matters if I understand you right
You know what I mean, you know what I mean 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
@zacharybg17 Keep the splitters bro. Ya never know when ya might need um :)
@jaggerattack Ya never know I might be that way some day
Gentlemen seems to be HIGH !! lol
Anupam Misra Nope Completely sober
😂got it
@casperskafs alright thanks bro
"sorry, kids"
Now that's funny...
lucky me i gotta run 3 sets of rca's to my amps whenever i get a 4 channel so right now i have only 1 going to my subwoofer amp
Can fader on head unit setting work front rear left right?
try the samsung smx-10 camcorder
male-female..lmao! You have me in splits. x-D
Lol
Here I am nearly ending the year 2023 watching this video for an install that im making and realizing the fact that somebody is going to get triggered by the male/female concept😂🤣
@Dillonj177 HAHA. Sorry bro. I'm gonna make a better vid
@splchief92 LMAO Threesomes are awesome
I just became 35 brain cells dumber seeing this... God help whoever has a system installed at this wonderful place.,,
you lost me at female i was like wtf lol na good vid man i like tutorials my fave is still the competion one with the toy cars
And there it was. The framework of what would come to be known as "sex ed" had been established lol
Hahaha
He has the gist, bad acting though. All you need is for 1 stereo out source' 1 stereo RCA male to 2 stereo RCA female for his setup. For laptop to two or 3 or 4 amps, 1 stereo 3.5mm male jack to 2 or 4 stereo female jack's then get 2, 3 or 4 male stereo jack Y splitters to female RCA's, then plug your RED and WHITE stereo RCA in. It is a bit Certificate 18.
i said wtf when u said al hell
Confused? you will be!
lol
@renegademotors PG 13 LOL
...while drinking beer.
On top of how you wanna remember.. you still fucked up.... lol
Sorry kids chester the lost my trai n of thougth' i hit a dead brain cell
😂😂😂😂👌👌👌👌
Lmfaooooo
do you know what i mean!! lol SORRY KIIDS
HAHAH SORRY KIDS :)
Sorry but i don't need more confusion.
With in the first 5 seconds' he misleads by using the wrong wording for cables' just start over' so off the back you dont confuse people
If this guy has muscular dystrophy then he has an excuse for the crummy video skills. Then again Jerry's kids could do better.
