I recently oved to a very rural area of England and have become obsessed with birds and birdsong. I see Red Kites, Buzzards, numerous types of finches on long dog walks. I have rekindled a childhood passion for birds since moving out of the city. I had forgotten just how wonderful our avian friends are.
Thank you for this. I found the calls easy to pick out, and the added descriptions of the birdsong very useful. There were just a couple that I feel could have been extended, but this is a very informative video 😊
Absolutely brilliant video, subject and teaching. I'm so pleased to have found your channel. You certainly deserve many more subscribers. Thank you for such a wonderful presentation.
Bird song in the morning is fever pitch here in the mornings , very lucky to have inherited a landscaped bird garden. Tapping into its magic powers, this is joy itself.
Thank you. Very informative. Can I suggest making videos without background Muzak? It is quite unnecessary and competes for attention with the narration or song.
A very informative video Abbie, I really enjoyed it. We always look out and listen for the birds when walking in our local park. Just a couple of things to add for people who are getting into birdwatching, please, please, please don’t use the netting type feeders as the birds can get their feet tangled in the netting. The RSPB are trying to get them banned from sale. If you put up bird feeders, ensure you clean them out regularly with water to avoid disease.
Amazing video thankyou, have been looking for a video that shows all uk birds songs! One song had caught my ears and i really wanted to know the bird and its the last song of the song thrush! 8:36 as thenones near me seem to sing that one alot!
Hey mam, I have seen your previous video on crocodile species, can you do the same video on all big cats by starting with lions and Tell us the measures should be taken to conserve them. Loved your content ❤️.
Thank you. It was beautiful. Now UK parks are full of life. When I walk there, I can hear so many birds. It is just wonderful. But, in fact, I just recognize 1 or 2 ;-). It is difficult and I think- you have to be a master to recognize their singing. I've also heard that birds that live in the city are trying to be louder now because of streets noise.
same birds here in greece and landscapes. thats why uk is my 2nd favorite country for these 2 reasons, birds-nature. im 31 birdwatching hobby starts at the age of 8, my most favorite family of my beloved animals and millions of others i believe, are this of the insect eating birds, stonechats, robins, redstarts, flycatchers etc, hope you understand me i dont know all their names in english!:P greetings to british people from greece, love you
robin in greek is called as redthroat(actually is orange not red:P) kokkino(red) laimis(throat), stonechat is called mauro(black) laimis(throat) all together maurolaimis due to his black throat in fields clasically as you know him there, redstart is called here kokkino(red) tailed(ouris) kokkino-ouris due to his red tail, some of our birds in my language, about collared dove, its have been said that it have 18 tails here in greece this bird is called as dekaoxto(number 18 in greek) and tail(oura) all together deka oxtoura) and except from the fact that im saying above, this bird seems to say the number 18 to its call(in greek language it absolutely matches) thats why gave her this name. many other people reproducing nightingales and goldfinches a beautiful hobby) one guy in my town reproduce robins thats all as a p.s~!
When I was young in the 80s and 90s I remember a lot of talk about wrens and sparrows being endangered. I wonder if the heating climate has allowed more of them to survive the milder winters and their populations to expand so much
Apologies… I’m expecting mistakes with the stock. The stock labels aren’t always reliable unfortunately. Birds can look very different throughout their stages of development so I’m sure I’ve probably overlooked some images/video but I tried my best! Thanks for pointing out 😊
In my garden I have over 20 feeders, but baths and squirrel feeders, but what do I get ? About 90% are starlings and the remainder sparrows, pigeons and blackbirds. I wish I could see a nice variety instead of bullies who take over... even the pigeons are scared of them !😥
I hear a two tone deep bird sound at dusk in the woods and Cabot identify it, the first syllable is shorter and the second longer and rising I’ve listened to no end of videos. Didn’t sound like a small bird. Location north east england
If your birds are disappearing it means they are tending to their nests and aren’t bothering to come to your garden because there’s already enough natural foods about
Thank you, lovely birds, for some people they are the only wildlife they see. We need rewilding in Britain. Btw please replace the loud music with something more mellifluous and in keeping with nature.
With the title, got to say i was hoping for just back to back excerpts of bird song with video showing the bird and a caption identifying it. This is a lot of video to watch with superfluous information, while trying to identify a song i heard
What a shame to go to such trouble and produce a beautiful-looking film, but then to give such short snatches of birdsong and make them compete with that awful call-centre muzak.
Hey, I’ve just checked each bird sound and I made sure to include the bird sound without any voiceover at the end of my explanation. Sorry if it still confuses you! I think there’s lots of videos on UA-cam that just focus on their sounds. If you want I can get some links for you? 😊
4:44 wood pigeon song

Very informative, but would have appreciated more time hearing the bird sounds without any voice-overs or music playing in the background. Thanks.

I didn’t expect to come across such a well spoken and produced Chanel!
I can’t imagine life without birdsong…..
You might have to get used to the idea unless we can get rid of the Tories

Fantastic tutorial on birds and birdsong, very clear and informative, excellent explanatory videos, many thanks indeed.
Very educational indeed. Thanks very much.

Enjoyed that - re. bird friendly trees, birds love my to steal my cherries! The little blighters!
Now i finally know what that noise is- it's a great tit! Lovely sunny day woodland walk sound 💖

Ah talking over all the bird song. Excellent
I’m really sorry you didn’t enjoy the video 😢
Good video Abbie and very informative. I like waking up with the birds too. Keep up the good work and you will get to where you want to be 👍🏻
Thankyou!
The picture at 3.47 is NOT a Wood Pigeon. More like a Feral Pigeons (Rock Dove)

I loved this video. May I suggest each clip of birdsong is longer and slightly louder.
Thank you very much ❤🐣

Rarely see house sparrows at all now. They were the most common when I was a kid. And I don’t recall the last time I saw a wren
@@personalcheeses8073 Come to London. Many in and around our gardens.
I actually saw a pair of collared doves mating on my garden fence last year
What a treat!
I can confirm that sparrows are scarce in most of Britain. They’re all in my garden…..
Thanks,
Nothing more beautiful than hearing mr black bird after having a night of horrendous nightmares
That was interesting thank you
Thank you! Have there been any changes in population in the UK? 😊
Good point about stopping pet cats from killing birds - if more cat owners did that it would make a big difference to bird numbers!
3:49 errrr just saying, those are rock doves not wood pigeons
