it's cool to see how the EQs on the mid bass are basically metal guitar EQs... cut the mids! all the bass! all the highs! well no cuz the highs are cut off by a second EQ curve that's kinda like a cabinet after an amplifier... which makes senses seeing as how there are so many similarities between metal bass and guitars as a unit and neurofunk basses! :D
3 years later but that's gonna sum it to mono which will cause phase issues. He selects only the left or right channel because it's not being summed, just taking one of the mono channels that makes stereo.
Was there a reason to use the utility mono, instead of serums? and with you using a side, do you have to compensate by doing another patch to the other side? Im just now really getting a feel for stereo space.
no the utility in mono with select either the right or left channel duplicated in both sides, if u just mono the bass it will give u the sum(+) of both and in short will result in a weaker bass...
awesome tutorial Dan! Thanks a lot Just a question, what happens then when the track is played in mono? doesn´t the bass then lose all of its coolnes??
rikcasado Very good question but you can test it yourself. Put a utility tool on the master and click on the mono button. All the side signals will still be there in mono. Nothing special.
I've been using Garageband for 7 years and is a great free DAW, but I reached the point where you need a better software and is very shitty for Neuro productions. At least with this tutorial I realized that is just some kind of techno bass with fat sub.
Sam Yew Jia Xian That’s the song I make from scratch in the latest Letsynthesize Academy course. You can find the link in the video description. Check it, people love it!

I like how you play the sound with and without all the different effects, it's nice to hear how it evolves
This is the way! :)

Also, what to do if all my from scratch design tends to be mid heavy, or lose all tonality that I built up, once I duck the mid.

Stick N Groove thanks bro! Me too but some gays find it distracting :) Weird isn’t it? :)
Letsynthesize I think it contrasts the heavy bass music perfectly :D

And what happens if u use an Utilty, select bass mono option, choose the range of ur mono bass and play with the width?
I think it doesnt take that much cpu as that way nah?

Any reason not to just use mono button on utility?
Phase canceling issues.

I wish it was just a techno bass with fat sub. It's more than that!
But yeh, you defo need a stronger DAW than GarageBand!
Only ableton stock plungins wow 🎉
I prefer using stock plugins
Could you do a Jump UP Dnb tutorial?
Ammmmm... I am afraid I don’t have the skills for that. :)
What song is this bro? I'm a huge fan of Noisia.
Which song do you mean bro?
The song you play in the first part

It's factory skin bruh! :)
3 attempts at the tutorial...cant get it right
The beauty of this sound is in it's simplicity, don't you think? Even it if it's not 100% accurate.
THERE'S A MID-SIDE MODE IN UTILITY
WHHAAAAAATTTTTT
Bet you can’t make the bass from what’s wrong 2:00
You won, I can't :)
CHONKY
theres no need to shout in the intro
logan forge Shouting? Nobody is shouting!
There's this guy who runs a gaming channel and his profile picture is almost a total rip off if your logo
