The Secret to Being a Happy Wife - Jen Weaver

  • For years, she was an unhappy, discontent wife. Jen found several reasons to be frustrated with her husband, including the fact that he wasn’t leading family devotions. But-one day, Jen felt conviction to adjust her approach to marriage, and it changed her life forever. Instead of focusing on what her husband wasn’t doing, Jen focused on growing closer to Jesus and asking Him to help her learn and grow.
    With a fresh perspective, Jen began to feel genuine joy as a wife. In this one-day Focus on the Family broadcast, Jen sits down with Jim Daly, John Fuller, and Jim’s wife Jean Daly to discuss practical ways wives can find fulfillment and happiness in the marriage that they already have.

    If you’re being abused do not stay and move on… get help if it’s safe enough to but do not be guilted into staying with an abusive partner. Most Christians are NOT trained on how to help with abuse… I was in a very abusive relationship for 3 years too long because of terrible advice and almost died..

    • @BeUr_Best
      @BeUr_Best 9 місяців тому +2

      I agree 100%. It’s never okay for anyone to be in a relationship that is abusive. It’s not safe nor is it healthy. People in the church will say pray about it and give it to the Lord. You can do that and you can also leave while you have a chance

      I agree..my mother stayed in an abusive husband our whole life and we were 4 little girls and we just learned to say YES..SURE AND OBEY..it really affected our relationships with our husbands...im a Christian..and i think if my mom would have left and taken us to her parents..my grandfather would have set him straight..he fought in WW1 and he loved my dad but would have set him stait..i wish he had of..my sisters are devorced..one sister had 2 kids no husband and ive been married to a wonderful guy for 48 years..and i set the perimeters of anything that resembled even a hint of abuse BEFORE WE GOT EVEN ENGAGED,
      And if they dont. I would say dont get married and find someone who respects you..Jesus doesnt abuse us and we should not put up with it..
      Hope this helps❤❤

      There are many wives abusing husbands out there as well, but it is taboo in the church to discuss it. Most pastors won't touch it. I was in a church once where the pastor continued to allow a woman who verbally abused her husband to teach a women's Bible study. He was being controlled by the women in that church.

    The problem can be when the leader does not want to take leadership, even if requested for help, he listens, might give an advice but not ‘let’s do it together’. Not an ‘uncaring’ husband as a company, helps with whatever is asked, but just can ‘see’ the purpose of it. It feels like ‘giving instructions’ rather communicating with someone you care and wants to be cared by, as well.

    • @KJ-lb4tj
      @KJ-lb4tj Рік тому +4

      Personally after 28 years of marriage I find that submission is two way. If both are giving for the others benefit then there will be times in the marriage where one gives up something for the other. Particularly if the woman has given up many things outside the home when the kids were younger and the husband has grown his career or vocation. It might quite simply be that the husband then is able to support the wife to follow God's calling outside of the home... I've seen this work so well... Especially going back to education etc.
