What I love about bikes/velomobiles & microcampers, is that you don't have to pay for a license or tags. If it's your home, and you're resourceful, you don't have to pay rent or even property taxes. If you live in your vehicle, you still have to pay for licensing, tags & insurance. Bikes & microcampers are completely free.
@@gibbs677bg a person would live in one just as people live in the wild. They would most use it for sleep and shelter nothing more. Any one that can’t get, or doesn’t have insulation, would have to be in the right climate to do so. Cooking, using the bathroom, etc .. will be done outside.
@@pauljones364 Keep in mind it's purpose. A minimally defensible pod to sleep in. Eating and whatnot -- pooping, whatever -- you've got to sleep. In peace and comfort. That is why these were invented.
FYI, Looks like the go easy trailer camper now starts at $10,000. I can't say I would pay that for a tent when you can get a teardrop camper with a decked kitchen for a similar price
Pretty neat, though some were certainly not my cuppa, still pretty neat. Everytime I see trailers with foldout galleys I remember the Australian Conqueror series from a few years back. Take care and God speed.
Rv companies sell for a decent price.. if you buy straight from the plant. Elkhart County is where I work and live... when I see the prices of what I'm building go put the door.. then I go to a dealership or someone who privately sells they mark it up insane... it's the dealers who usually screw you. And I can't say anything about these type of trailers. I build "sandpiper's" , "Sierra's" by Forest river. And thse are big haulers and park model trailers. Make damn decent money too. That is if you can keep up to get out at 12:30 everyday. No bullshit... check it out if you want a good workout and good pay. I'm at Forest river plant #3. Grow your future save more money invest more money but you really got to want it.and be willing to push yourself that extra mile. Hope to see you. It's always good seeing people do what they set our to. And let alone do it all legal... it's stops feeding the machine and gives you a better hold on your future. Not what your told will be your futre
What this video got wrong is that there is a Go and a Go Easy, and they are two different trailers. Be sure to look into the differences if you are considering one.
I think the best ones were towed by motorcycle, e-bike, #2 for price, any of them that have the least amount of effort to setup :) For your next challenge create a list of campers that can be towed, setup, broken down easily by 1 or 2 handicapped people. This list could be broken down into a series covering the different mode of transport used: fossil fuel / hybrid vehicle, electric only vehicle, e-bike with throttle support, pedal only power, power chairs / scooters, pedestrian. For pedestrian I'm not thinking just about tents because those aren't campers. If you can try to make American-made only lists for each of these classifications. Then do the same for each country of origin where the campers are made. Try also to make lists with prices that go from highest to lowest or vice versa or as their own separate category.
I don't understand camper tents. You're sacrificing so much storage space when you could just buy a tent. Save yourself $6,000 to while being able to bring along necessary supplies.
I think that e-bike touring will be popular someday, once there is an infrastructure set up for that kind of thing, once that happens I'm pretty sure these bike pods/trailers etc. will be more popular, right now, lugging around a hundred pound trailer, plus the wind drag, is not worth the convenience, a 10lbs for a tent, sleeping bag, and pad, strapped to a rack will do. plus I'll be able to reach more places a trailer won't allow.
about bicycle campers: you are tired when arriving to your destination. Right there you need to unpack and raise the tent, in the middle of pouring rain. You also need to pack the soaking tent later. OR: you go inside a camper and stay cozy. Come rain or shine. That's about it. you can enjoy the rain dropping sound and sleep into that.
31 gallons = 4.2 cu feet. Kinda missed the fact that the 3 Mody trailers have different wheels for different tow bikes....I'm wondering if the announcer ever watches the video??
The mini mate would be a good choice for motorcycle if it was not a pop-up tent, make it a solid caravan with renewable energy panels that protects you from the element. With amenities
Every climber that attempts Mount Everest lives in tents in some of the most challenging environmental conditions known to man. I wouldn't worry about being in a tent fabric camper, especially one that has proved itself for so many years and tens of thousands of miles. With a collapsible titanium tent stove (or a 2kw diesel air heater) it would make for a comfortable travel cabin in any weather.
As an owner of a Sylvansport Go, I think you have the Go and Go Easy mixed up. I'm pretty sure the Easy doesn't have a tent accessory, whereas the Go is a pop up tent.
So basically $3k-$5k for a tent in a trailer? Um for about $300 you can by a bike trailer and full size tent and blow up bed on Amazon to tow behind your e bike.
I like the no. 4, 2 and 1. I wish I have one of these. For my travel here in the Philippines. But sad to say I couldn't afford to buy one. Its a little bit expensive for me buying this luxury camping gadget. Thanks for posting, love the content.
Most people are like me. They like the idea, and thought about building or getting one,but we don’t bike or camp ,especially by ourselves. With company, you’re in your camper by yourself. I don’t think many people use these,or tiny houses .
Most of these are more tents on wheels which makes the extra weight added over a tent and pack on a regular trailer not worth the extra cost for the specialty build
@@LucidDreamer54321 We used chaise loungers. Not the kind with arms. These have a 3 piece frame. The ends are identical to each other. They're both attached to the mid section with ratcheting hinges so you can have each end to an angle you like. You can even go full upright for daytime use. I had occasionally taken them out of the tent to relax outside, and they were used on beaches as well. These or any cot are a space saver in the tent because you can keep stuff underneath them. The mid section has folding legs and carries all the weight. Speaking of weight they are s little heavy having a steel frame. Mine were from decades ago, but they're still made. The Go Easy and Go are two completely different things. The Go is the one with a tent.
safer too, we have to think of safety first since Resident Brandon destroyed our Borders.
I watched this video again and I think number 7 matched my needs, but it is more than I can spend on a small camper..
