I remember this era personally. My elder teen sister's had some Mary Quant makeup, and Twiggy was a household name. 1970ish Mattel came out with their Twiggy doll, we had one. She was an icon for awhile. My daughter has similar features, big eyes, round forehead, blonde hair, thin frame. I should do a photo shoot of her in Twiggy like clothing just for fun.
Thank you, for posting this. It takes me back to better days. I just turned sixty-five. Yeah, I'm fossilized, but I remember the best music and fashion scene -- ever -- the mid-Sixties.
Walt Fechter . twiggy was as big a part of the sixties as the Beatles and the stones. I can't believe she was only nineteen when the sixties ended. as with many things she was in the right place at the right time. I remember my dad taking me to see the Beatles in help here at the odeon where they had performed live in 1963. yes people struggled then as we do now but oh! the music and the times. in 1966 my dad worked as a barman at the Hobbs boat inn pub near Weston where we lived in a caravan. he was the only one who would serve the mods.
ahhhh, the days of go-go boots and bouffants! so grateful to have lived through that era. great memories evoked in seeing these photos. thanks for the great Twiggy montage!
The wife replying. Trying to master painting lashes on the bottom of your eye was a nightmare got one perfect and the other side was very hard to match up. When you mastered it it looks brilliant it made your eyes look bigger Brilliant times.
twiggy may have been too thin but her beautiful face makes up for it even without makeup and she was naturally skinny, unlike today where there's models who look bad without makeup
Beautiful women should learn not to try and use their beauty as a weapon to succeed in life. When a beautiful women puts so much stock into her exquisite looks, she is heading for a big disappointment down the road when the beauty is gone and age sets in. Look at so many of the beautiful women who cashed in on their beauty and when they got older they looked bad and could not cash in on their looks. Look at Twiggy, Ursula Andras, Elizabeth Taylor, Ava Gardner, Jean Tierney, Bridget Bardot Sophia Loren and the list goes on and on. Beautiful girls must realize that beauty is a curse and a trick played on them by mother nature. Women must learn not to put too much stock in beauty and put more energy into education so when the beauty fades they will have things to fall back on. If beautiful women put too much emphasis on their beauty and the power it has, when the beauty fades and they are left old and ugly, what are they going to do, KILL THEMSELVES - Beauty, what a transient trick played by MOTHER NATURE!!!!!!! The only big time beauty that maintained her great beauty for many, many years was LENA HORNE. This women was beautiful even in her 80's. She was beautiful when she was 90, right until her death. Lena Horne was an extreme exception to the rule. I don't care if she had plastic surgery on her face to keep herself beatiful, SHE NEVERTHELESS DID IT!!! Lena Horne defied mother nature!
Yvonne Bryant Are you kidding?? the women you mentioned ..Twiggy, Ursula Andress, Liz Taylor, Ava Gardner, etc...are/were STILL beautiful...in their elder years!!

I loved the 1970s as well! I was 13 at the start of 1970 and 23 at the start of 1980! BEST DECADE TO GROW UP IN!
Twiggy + Blur = Epic!
Twiggy has been rather vocal about not doing drugs so probably not the best song choice here...
It wasn't just the eyes, Her lovely mouth was very unusual also, with the little bow shape in the upper lip. Such an icon of the age.
