GR egnines are no joke. If you ever have a chance to take a Rav4/Sienna/ or Highlander V6 from the mid to late 00s out you should. Throttles are so sensitive and it's very torquey. It's honestly stupid in a FWD layout. Once you remove the cats the engine really comes alive. I still think a GR swapped RX8 would be a fun project.
31:53 man this is gotta be some of the best driving I've ever seen. you can see DK was on the limits of what the tires at both ends of the car could offer. with him slightly slipping in and out of understeer while still maintaining a good bit of rotation in the car he was probably the fastest through the final corner there at least on that lap (in probably the 2nd/3rd fastest car on the day). So satisfying to watch!
Well, I am glad I was suggested this video by the algorithm. I grew up playing Gran Turismo and, well, this is it. I know a ton of car channels but this one is the only one where they really race the cars against each others instead of just lap times. Congratulations on such a good channel for us cars fanatics, and greetings from Mexico!
I used to think Best Motoring looked at Gran Turismo and thought: "We're gonna make a TV-show like that". But then I realised it's the other way around and Polyphony simply made a game about everything that makes BM great.
Just like the second generation Lexus IS350 they really are sleepers! Both share alot of the same components including the 2GR-FE 3.5 V6 I didn't expect the Mark X to do as well as it did against that line up very suprising!
@@racr2687 yes they share some components, but the Mark X is on the same platform as the Lexus GS (the IS350 is a compact platform) ... but yes, the Mark X | Lexus GS350 are great sleepers with that configuration and the IS350 should be even faster !
@@gerardo.razzeto How is it beating cars with more HP? I get the Z performed poorly due to heat issues. I find it strange how the heavy luxury car with a bone stock engine is able to beat these lighter cars with tuned engines.
Japanese really take pride in their work. Race drivers like these guys also. They explain everything in such detail and with absolute precision and passion.
I believe the mark x is the star of the show, showing capability against lighter civic r and much heavier tuned wrx Awd! Being one of heaviest cars on small track still shines!

Some great driving! I LOVE my FK8 CTR! With that said, DK did an amazing job of saving the Type R after the brake failure. I also have to give credit where credit is due because that Mark X was pretty impressive. What a surprise. That SYMS WRX STi is sweet! What a great episode!
@@koopatroopa187 there are other video after this mentioning that the tuner garage fix the brake problem, something about the brake pad not fitting well....

Mark X is a nice car. In Jamaica there are quite a few tuned Mark Xs. Even the Mark IIs are not to be trifled with running either the 1JZ-GTE or 2JZ-GTE. I was impressed by the WRX with its light tuning. It really ran very well.
Well they are pretty well qualified to comment when it causes unexpected balance changes that shouldn't happen or it interferes with the driving enjoyment 😁. Also a manual handbrake/sidebrake would have been useful on the Civic at 33:33 😂😂

Pretty dumb for what is supposed to be a tuning car battle. Z is known for oil overheating on track, but the tuner didn't address it, they also turned up running Dunlop Sport Maxx and the rest of the field has Bridgestone Potenza RE-71r's which are multiple levels higher up in terms of speed.
@@Jaredscott89 the Z was maker tuned, probably by NISMO, since it was a NISMO z. At any rate, the Z still lost to stock WRX and Type R in terms of lap time. As to why they decided to battle the nismo Z basically stock is anyone's guess

I've been watching DoriDori drive since the creation of this channel and his pedal work still leaves me in awe to this day, it's just so smooth and efficient.
Did anyone notice the front headlights flashing @2:07 when he is activating the ABS during hard braking? Pretty cool detail. Seems to made to alert drivers oncoming traffic and probably also the rear of the road problems(obviously they are driving fast and triggering it).
Damn thats the car that carries the title of middle age crisis. But its so fast here on par with Type R that makes it ridiculous. Its a bloody sleeper track car.
I LOVE WRX STI BUT THIS TYPE R IS AMAZING FOR ITS FWD LAYOUT. IT WILL CATCH UP IN STRAIGHT, AND IT WILL DEFINITELY CATCH UP IN TURNS AS WELL. THIS TYPE R IS NOT EVEN THE LIMITED EDITION WHICH IS MORE HARDCORE , GOOD JOB HONDA !!!
First thanks for ENG subs. Also, that Mark X, which shares platform with the Lexus IS is surprisingly capable here. Ditto the WRX STI, which for all the criticism of the EJ engine has plenty of power and balance to pull of a win.
Sadly, the EJ20’s going out of production. I initially believed that this generation of STi moved to an FA series engine, but turned out the STis still stuck with the EJ207 (257 for the export market). Only the standard WRX moved to the FA
The tuned race portion of was a bit unfair to the Nismo Z. Everyone was running Re71r's (best 200 treadware time attack tire) and the Z was stuck with the factory stockers. Heck most of those compliments of how good the cars handle can be attributed to the tires alone.

The brakes didn't fail, he fucked up the down shift and kept going straight instead of turning.

That Mark X is basically a Lexus 3rd gen GS350, so it is very impressive considering the size of the sedan compared to it's competitors in the video.
VQ系の油温上昇はover300馬力の3.7ℓエンジンなのにも関わらずオイル容量4.6ℓと少ないのも関係ありますよね。かと言って規定より多く入れても害しかないし。GR系の6発は2.5ℓエンジンの規定量でも6ℓ近く入りますからね。
Z34は電子制御がVDCくらいしかない初期型の方が速いまであるで
実際Z34弄って早くするより中古のZ33に金かけたほうが安い

急ブレーキもそうですが、最初の急発進から警告音が鳴り出しますね。純正のドラレコで0.5Gだったかで鳴っちゃうのでこの設定offしないと永遠と鳴ります笑

Znismoの加速がシビックタイプRやマークXに抜かれるほど遅かったのは残念...FRで大排気量NAだからかなり速いと思ったのに...エンジンのスペースに余裕が無かったとはいえターボつけてないのに油温上昇してリタイアになったのは残念すぎる
加速はトルクがあって軽量なほど速いのでZが抜かれるのは当たり前かと。ターボの方が大排気量NAより速いです(勿論例外はありますが)車重も重くなりますし。FK8なんて純正でトルク40キロ超えてますしZよりも軽量です。ましてやパワー、トルクの伸び代もターボの方が上です。ECU変えてブースト上げればFK8だと馬力360トルク50キロ程行きますね。対してZの場合ECUだけやってもパワー320、トルク40キロもいかないくらいですね。3.7リッターだとこんなもんです。NAで速くするならエンジン本体も弄らないと厳しいですよね。
軽くてトルクが高い方が有利ということですか。なるほど
加速は馬力ではなくトルクですからねー。0〜100キロの加速を計算するのに馬力は使わないんですよ。計算式はネットに載ってるので興味があれば是非調べてみて下さい。

車体がフェンスと並行になる直前にブレーキを抜いてからステアリングを戻して
リアもぶつからないようにアクセルを踏むという手順を落ち着いて出来るプロの技。
アマだったら殆どの人が側面~リアをぶつけて破損してる

インプの頃からWRXのコスパはおそろしくイイね。エンジンのチューニングキャパがランエボのG型やGT-RのRB26に比べて低いのが悔やまれるとこだけど、ノーマルで乗り続けるなら今の熟成されたEJはいいエンジンだよ。
スバル長年の熟成の極みに対してホンダのタイプRマジで凄いね。GVBオーナーだけど、シビックにびっくりしたわ。

基本設計が2004年で更にATでここまで戦えるマークXスゲェな。
当時から下手なスポーツモデルをカモるなんて言われるくらいシャシー性能が評価されてましたもんね。
車重ゆえにタイヤが早くヘタれてしまうけどそれまではとても速かったと。
あのゼロクラウンのシャーシを使っていて、更に軽いからね。
2代目マークXの後期は2度もシャーシの剛性アップが施されているから、更に速いだろう。
中期まであったスーパーチャージャー仕様が後期にもあれば・・・

The Mark X is a Lexus IS (250/350) with a different design.

I LOVE WRX STI BUT THIS TYPE R IS AMAZING FOR ITS FWD LAYOUT. IT WILL CATCH UP IN STRAIGHT, AND IT WILL DEFINITELY CATCH UP IN TURNS AS WELL. THIS TYPE R IS NOT EVEN THE LIMITED EDITION WHICH IS MORE HARDCORE , GOOD JOB HONDA !!!

First thanks for ENG subs. Also, that Mark X, which shares platform with the Lexus IS is surprisingly capable here. Ditto the WRX STI, which for all the criticism of the EJ engine has plenty of power and balance to pull of a win.
markx is the same platform as GS not IS, mate
Sadly, the EJ20’s going out of production.
I initially believed that this generation of STi moved to an FA series engine, but turned out the STis still stuck with the EJ207 (257 for the export market). Only the standard WRX moved to the FA

The tuned race portion of was a bit unfair to the Nismo Z. Everyone was running Re71r's (best 200 treadware time attack tire) and the Z was stuck with the factory stockers. Heck most of those compliments of how good the cars handle can be attributed to the tires alone.
シビックRは旧型FK2の時はボロクソ言われてたのにホンダは頑張ったんだなぁ
素の2GRエンジンのマークXがこれならスーチャー付きのマークXは一体どんなポテンシャルを秘めてるのか気になりますね
