@@Traumatree You're not serious P J. He lapped 1:03 with the old NSX-R with only ~320hp (officially 280hp)! Seems like the issue of non-defeatable stability control of the new NSX was fixed later.

that classic NSX-R just looks so good. The new NSX looks terrific too, but the old one is way more special

良くも悪くも腕の差が出にくいのでしょうね。ある程度の腕があればプロだろうがアマチュアだろうが同じタイムを出せると思う。
こういうの見てるとGTカーとかフォーミュラカーのコーナリングって異常だなってのが良く分かる。

Thanks for the translation! I would be very curious to see if the same results held with all cars on the same tire. I could not tell which P-Zero model they swapped onto the NSX, but the Porsche at least may have been at a disadvantage with the GT-R having a very aggressive tire by comparison (?).

噂ではＣＲ－Ｚの開発でも、ハイブリッドにしないと案が通らなかったそうですね。

Very underwhelming performance by the 2017 NSX. The 2019 refresh fixed some of the stability issues. The one I drove on winding roads felt invincible. Curious how it performs on track against the latest GTR and Turbo S.
NSX can match GT-R but the chassis gone beyond its use by date, Nissan need to pull their act together...... but NSX can't do much with 992 turbo s.... the German's just too strong
What i like is that they understand how the car work..they know how to drive the car..they know how the car behave

I really like the new NSX.
I don't understand why many auto journalists said its bad its not a full fledged race car nor is a style statement its something in between like the old NSX.
You will reach your destination fast and looking good while being comfortable.
You can keep up with your friends in Mclaren and GT2rs and GT3rs and ferrari.
Its an amazing machine and a piece of innovation.
I like it.

Honda apparently fixed some of the maladies in the 2019 model, it would be interesting to see the newer model compete with these cars. I'm sure it would have a faster lap time. Should have a Z51 C8 Corvette in there too, a car more similar to the original NSX.
Between C8 or Cayman, DK himself said that Cayman felt like a modern interpretation of NA1.
The disappointment in dk's eyes is real.
Yeah, he loves old NSXs, knows how they behave and their limits, I bet he was very curious and excited about the new one, so this must´ve been a very dissapointing experience.

+1 I felt exactly like him when playing Dirt Rally, I didn't understand why vehicles changed behavior no matter how I drove, later I found out that all assistance, ABS, Handling, Stability so later I found out that all this, the control became on my hands.
It sounded like there was a sadness in his voice while talking about the old Honda Type-R's. Those old Hondas were really something. Not the fastest cars but were very fun.

Many of them were among the fastest in their class though. Cars like the Integra Type R DC2 or EP3 held many track records in their class and to this day, Type R remains among the quickest. Take the FK8 for example, it got the Nurburgring track record back when it was new and even VW failed to beat it with their fancy AWD golfs. Just recently, Renault beat it with their super limited-edition Trophy R which probably costs alot more.

If they make a NSX Type R version, hopefully they include a mode to fully disable the driver aids and allow for sensible oversteer to avoid the twitching issues... they need a proper 'track' setting that doesn't interfere like we see in this video...

I don’t know it’s just me but this new NSX is really hard to drive in GTS. I don’t know it is error or just how this car is behave but it has its own mind when hitting the apex and make the car really hard to control. Looks like it does the same thing here on final 3 car battle which shows driver is fighting against the cpu not the track it self.

I bet the 290bhp NSX R 02' with these new grippy tyres, can also do a 1:02 at tsukuba. The new NSX is underperforming for sure.

@@conandoyle1740 Actually the 1992 NSX-R set a lap time of 1.05 at Tsukuba. Would be very interesting to see what a mildly tuned "old" NSX could do....oh wait there's a lap time on Dsportmag.com already....1.01 with just 350hp N/A. Point is the new NSX is just too heavy...the hybrid stuff only just makes up for itself in a straight line. Even the fancy torque vectoring can't make up for it being a HALF TON heavier than the old NSX-R.

I love BM but to be fair in those test, they are used to drive GTR and such cars but they are not used to drive Porsche or the new NSX... would be good to have battle with one of the best pilot for each Brand/Model. Like the Porsche pilot tester on the Porsche, the Honda pilot tester on the NSX ... and so on.

Hopefully more tuners get to work on it. Or hopefully the next generation allows for tuning.
The track was just too short & limited for that tremendous amount of power on these cars.. Fujispeedway track might be the good one :)
there was one battle they filmed at sugo(comes with high speed straights) along with gtr nismo, amg gtr and new nsx, turns out the nsx having trouble to keep up because of it's factory speed limiter lol

Remember people...even the jpn developed front-engined RWD NA V10 (glorious sounding, look it up) NSX proto (scrapped & labeled the HSV-10) was also a departure of what many considered to be an NSX successor.

Honda should be completely embarrassed by the fact that the older car with a nearly 300 hp deficit runs a nearly equivalent lap-time. This is why I love cars engineered from the early 90s to mid 00s more than any other. It's the way they go about their business that matters the most, and modern cars are far too heavy and complicated to replicate that golden age.

Seems like the NSX would have so much more potential if it just didnt interfere! But does show it can keep up with the finest, my bet is it would be nearly a second faster without electronic interference . Or perhaps it can be tuned out these days
