Love this idea. Playing off of relative chords in a key results in playing mostly the same notes, but usually it gets me out of a rut and it sounds unique
It sounds like an effect.. is he adding during editing/production ?? I wonder because I agree those chords underneath sound great, I could get lost in that sound.
I realy love this series of shorts because when you already can play you don't want the horrible beginner videos this is just nice to listen and take some inspiration from from
If you play triads based off the root, 3rd and 5th, you can do the same without learning all the 7th arpeggios in all positions. For more on this subject, please contact Mr Gambale :)
I know right. I would need a year of slow motion replays to even get anywhere near that and even then his right hand isn't in view so what strings am I playing?
Actually, and no knock on Rick, he of the massive cred. (which should be the name of his prog/fusion album), you've heard exactly that type of riff since Jeff Beck 'Wired' through to E.J...
Rick you’re a great player me and my family always enjoy your videos bubba keep it up man you even teach an old dog like myself something new when I stop in
Why doesn't Rick make a guitar jazz fusion record already. He has a huge audience already. It's never too late Rick!!
Pat Finnerty as Rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist
@@SakuEar Peter Calandra on keys?
Because nobody buys “guitar jazz fusion” records, would be my guess. 🤷🏼♂️😆✌️
Hear, hear!
I'd buy the record for sure!
The world needs a Rick Beato prog album.
Yes! 😄
It most certainly does.🤘
I just typed that as well before scrolling down and seeing this! Yes! He could put out an absolutely phenomenal prog instrumental album.
YESS
Someone call Plini 🥵🥵🥵
I like when you combine those arpeggios as well
Oh yes!!! All of us agree with you. 🤪😜🤪
I can use this riff in Guitar Center.
I’m using it right now turned up to 10 at GC. 🤪😜
Make sure there isn't a "No Stairway to Heaven or Beatopeggios" sign.
my boy Rick is wicked smart.....
Wicked smaht!
@@Disqualified_Identity Rick E. Beato, Super genius
@@walkingtal4157I like how that rolls out....
"Like that." DAMN BRO this guy is a gift! THANK YOU RICK
Ricks skill level is INSANE!
His one minute lessons are more useful that dozens of lessons on UA-cam..... really worth it subscribing to his channel!
Rick, this “shorts” are GREAT and your outro tag is perfect, I “Like that”.
Love this idea. Playing off of relative chords in a key results in playing mostly the same notes, but usually it gets me out of a rut and it sounds unique
I LOVE these vignettes, Rick!! I agree with GingerWolf2000 - the guitar community, nay, the world, needs a Rick Beato Prog Rock drop soon. 🤟😉
Love this sig guitar, keep playing and teaching sir...
Those chord changes under the lines give this LIFE!
It sounds like an effect.. is he adding during editing/production ?? I wonder because I agree those chords underneath sound great, I could get lost in that sound.
Is that an effects pedal generating those atmospheric chords happening underneath your arpeggios?
It would be great to see a tab of the chords and arpeggios. Would it make much easier to understand what he is doing.
I'm sure he's selling something that includes it. Surprising he didn't mention it three times in this video. lol
@@ossiehalvorson7702 Now that you mention it . . . . Guess you are right
He gave you enough information.
All I know from watching is this is that I will never fully understand music like Rick but man do I want a double cut Gibson
Dont forget to add the note A in randomly like Rick does here. A is the 4th of E and the 2nd of G so there is no confusion.
Wow, that's a good way to break down a complex lick. The thinking is so simple but it yields spectacular results.
LOVE it maestro!
Am I the only one that thinks this sounds like nutshell
Rick Beato, I'd really like to hear your music. You're superskilled, Sir
You should put out your own instrumental album Rick! I think that it would be phenomenal! Great playing, great lessons!
Beautiful tone Rick!
My confidence just went down the drain.
Rick, I love these quick lessons here on TT.
Big Cliffs of Dover vibes from this.
Love it! Definitely going to try it in my next solo!!
Beautiful!!
Your an amazingly talented and cool man
Great one, Rick! Love your mini-lessons.
I love your pads underneath ~ Man, they send me every time 🔥💜🎹🎧

"Like that." - Rick Beato (tm)
I know right. I would need a year of slow motion replays to even get anywhere near that and even then his right hand isn't in view so what strings am I playing?
@Rick Beato. Yep, there is a Merch opportunity right there. I would buy a T-shirt or coffee mug straightaway
So beautiful Rick.
Am loving these mini lessons Rick
This is beyond me 😆 but I love to watch/listen to it 😌
Wow nice sound. It would be cool to see the underlying chords displayed!
...it's Em7 - he says that at the start of the video
@@nuberiffic not really, the basenote is changing in the last part. I would like to understand why he used this progression...very moody sound!!
omg... this is really an amazing thing that I have never heard before.

He's such a badass
Hey Rick. I like these shorts! Keep 'um coming. Peace.
Beautiful !
Yeah, 'Like that'! 😂😂😂 Amazing
Need to practice this good stuff
Tabs for that would be amazing
So very cool, loving these shorts :)
That's gorgeous
I love that sound. Now I know what that is called. Prince used them a lot. I love it
Reminds me of Eric Johnston too.
Jerry Garcia as well.
Awesome Rick.
I ACTUALLY UNDERSTOOD THIS ONE
Very nice Rick ! Well played 👍🏻 it reminds me of the way Frank Gamble plays ! 😨
Sounds like Eric Johnson’s style of playing. Awesome
Like that
That was funny if not serious too!!
I got some learning to do
Rick you’re a great player me and my family always enjoy your videos bubba keep it up man you even teach an old dog like myself something new when I stop in
Sounding a bit like Shawn Lane here. I like it.
Rick i swear you make all this look way to easy
That was a sweet sounding lick
I would love to be able to play like this. Sweet
“Like that” love it. Can I put an order in for the t shirt please
That was fire
I love these
Nice one!
We need a "What makes this song great" for Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield! That would be awesome
The Hunchback of Atlanta-dame totally RIPZ!!!
Please make a jazz record, please.
Rick is the best.
The master is here
liquid and stellar music...
Such a great guitar player and teacher thank you so much we’re lucky to have him!!
What are you using for the back ground. Would love to practice with that.
Beautiful excelent 🌷👍
More evidence that learning theory will only improve your musical abilities
Wish this was on main UA-cam so I could SLOW IT DOWN. There is no way I can learn from this
if this would be a movie we would all know the zoomed in hand is someone else
In the words of the pop charts for the last, oh idk, 50 years: I like the way you do it, "like that".
that was bautiful
YOU'RE GIVING AWAY ALL OF ERIC JOHNSON'S TRICKS!!!!
Love that
Do these apply on piano?
Wow ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ so beautiful phrase
I will try it 🙂
Smooth
The riff.
Great
Dope.
You should do a song from TIME ODYSSEY by VINNIE MOORE. The video reminds of that release.
It sounds like Eric Johnson!!
I keep forgetting arpegios and sweep picking are different things
What is that pad effect?
Can you combine it with the 5th and 7th as well?
What's the guitar used?
Wow!
"Like that.."
Damn I didn’t get that. Tab please!
This is a foreign language to me until u play
Was gonna say reminds me of Shawn Lane... but it was already said.
Eric Johnson feels
very cool
Sounds like Bill Nelson stuff
Nice
