Would have liked to hear why you prefer the bl3 over the others. Rainbow fry are really small. I think waiting until they are a few weeks old would be a good idea before trying them in these boxes.
Awesome idea to make this video. Went from seeing this on the site and assuming it was a regular old breeder box.. to now wanting to order one. Without this video I wouldn't have know the features and potential of the product. A+
The fry can swim out through the vent so you need to stuff sponge or floss in that air compartment. The model shown is the BL-3 with the mesh bottom but I personally believe the BL-2 is superior with the plastic bottom, that way when you remove the box you wont drain all the water; there will be a centimeter of water left where your fry can still swim during transportation or cleaning.
That is an awesome "baby box" as I always called them :) I love the water movement channel, even with open sides water doesn't flow through too well, so that's a nice feature.
These also have a little adjustable peg that sticks out from the black section on the bottom, so you can level it even if your aquarium lip wants it to sit at an angle. Excellent product.
You have no idea how HAPPY I AM that you guys have these now! Was only able to get mine from South Korea before! (I have the BL-2 - only came with bracket! 😭)
The possibilities of how to use that Ziss breeder box connection ring when available could make for a great video. Looking forward to purchasing the connector when available and having that option

If the waterflow in the aquarium is good enough, is it really needed to connect it to the air? With the 3 screens, I suppose water flow inside will be slow but sufficient to get enough oxigen to the fry? What do you think?
Is the mesh too large for any breeds such as Ram fry? I just got it and am using it for some Cory Fry I have and wonder if the mesh bottom is too abrasive? Seems like it could rub them and allow an infection
Excellent video Master Breeder Dean👍👍👍👍 Was wondering when you or Cory would do a video on its operation. Can you use it as a livebearer/guppy breeder cage where the fry drop out below into tank away from mom hungry mouth? Thank you👏👏👏
Hi Dean and Cory, have you tried this breeder box on Japanese Ricefish? i took Dean’s recommandation to do the 5 gallon paint strainer with the backer rod setup. But the strainer screen don’t last long. Would the Ricefish fry swim out of the screens? please let me know... Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Can you hatch eggs from a spawning mop in this box if you want to breed egg scattering fish and do not have room for a breeder tank? Would you hatch them in a tray and then add them to the box? Or are these breeder boxes mainly for livebearing fish?
Great breeder box. Just be careful with the airstone slot on the side of box because the fry could find their way through the slots and in to the aquarium. 👌👌👌
So when he says about being able to put two of them together (at abt the 0:26 mark) this was/is not the case then? Dang! I started to get super excited there for a minute! 😂😢
Seems pricey compared to some breeder boxes, but they say you get what you pay for! This seems like it would be really handy for some of my Synodontis Petricola fry right now.
Good point. I guess his fry system is only built on one tank so maybe his application would be for when he runs out of tray room he can easily throw a breeder box in any tank he likes
If raising fry in a BL3 and feeding live baby brine, it would appear the LBB would not stay in the BL3 for the fry to graze on, or am I missing something?
It has the metal mesh on the bottom, and then a protective plastic grating to protect possible eggs from being eaten through the mesh by sucker type fish. So baby fish shouldn't be able to fit anywhere.

Dean, Cory, Robert and everyone else at Aquarium Coop are so good at systematically explain things in a thorough way. Bravo once again. Good job Dean.
Heck yeah this channel is back! I missed it

Nice device! Aquarium Co-op and Dean have a huge fan from Argentina! You're the best 🇦🇷👏🏼
Thanks for the video, I ordered one of these Friday can’t wait to see fry in it!

Missed this channel! Very informative video!
Thanks for another great product intro.
Dean is by far the best fish guru !!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
That is an awesome "baby box" as I always called them :) I love the water movement channel, even with open sides water doesn't flow through too well, so that's a nice feature.
I love the new clip that hangs on the tank with these new breeder boxes!!
Does this work with hatching eggs? Or will the eggs slip out?
That’s a lot features for a breeder box. Well developed product.
Yay it’s Dean!!!
Great video, short and to the point. As always, Dean is so appreciated!
Nice been using this for around a year now grate product
I see what you did there.
I will soon be setting up my first two breeding tanks. Thank you so much for the knowledge you pass on. It inspired me.
These also have a little adjustable peg that sticks out from the black section on the bottom, so you can level it even if your aquarium lip wants it to sit at an angle. Excellent product.
“3T stands for 3 openings”
Intuitive naming from Ziss right there.
Hahaha
Easy setup, versatility. I may need one or two. Time will tell.
I'm always glad to see more Dean. I think I will be trying this with my rainbow and cory fry.
Did you end up trying this with corydoras fry? How long after hatching did you wait to add them to this?
great demo-- like the ease of setting up== good looking product--
Once I have room to breed. I will be getting a couple of these.
What
You have no idea how HAPPY I AM that you guys have these now! Was only able to get mine from South Korea before! (I have the BL-2 - only came with bracket! 😭)
I'll have to give it a try thanks for the demo Dean
Appreciate the detailed content. Makes the decision of what to buy so much easier
The possibilities of how to use that Ziss breeder box connection ring when available could make for a great video. Looking forward to purchasing the connector when available and having that option
Unfortunately Ziss tells me they have discontinued that option due to it being a weak point in the design.
Had one in my cart just haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Will end up getting one before too much longer.
This box looks awesome.
love you guys!
2 videos within the hour? Nice
Love my master breeder Dean fix!
Like the clip option and double bottom screen.
Man your channel(s) are officially giving me a UA-cam addiction...
Will this also work for Bristlnose Pleco fry?
Keep them coming
I am glad this channel back also , can't wait to see more. Great showmanship Dean !!

What do you think?
Now that is way cool!!💕👍
Nice, I need to save up and get 3 of these.
This is definitely a must have !! Excellent product and excellent tutorial from a master breeder at that !! 👍🏼🐟🐌🌱
definitely a good breeder box 👌
Cool breeder box
Is the mesh too large for any breeds such as Ram fry? I just got it and am using it for some Cory Fry I have and wonder if the mesh bottom is too abrasive? Seems like it could rub them and allow an infection
Hello!
I'm hesitating between the ziss aqua bl-3 breeding box and the ziss aqua bl-2 breeding box. Which one do you think is better?
Can you pop the sides out on this version?
Excellent video Master Breeder Dean👍👍👍👍
Was wondering when you or Cory would do a video on its operation.

Very cool
Nano air pump isn't for long term use. Going threw 4 sellers I'd say 6-8 months each one slowly died But they are super quiet I'll say that
Do they still sell connection rings for these?
I might have to get one.

Nice overview, which style did Dean prefer, the suction cup or where it screws on the side of the aquarium? Thanks for sharing!
Great breeder box.

👌👌👌
Looking to get breeding in the future so im sure ill come back to this then
Wish I would have seen this b4 I bought the Penn Plax a couple weeks ago
Is the contest here too?
I want one! 😍😍
Mean Dean the fish breeding machine. 👍👌
good how to video
This looks good for inside a tank but i still prefer a hang on the side one much easier to feed if your using lids
Nice vid
When putting fry in the box and few days of feeding how do you clean the box
Awesome
How buy
Curious - are you actually able to join 2 (or more) together? I know the OLD versions of the BL-2 you could, but not any of the new ones??
Ziss has discontinued the feature as they said over time it become a stress point and would crack.
So when he says about being able to put two of them together (at abt the 0:26 mark) this was/is not the case then?
Dang! I started to get super excited there for a minute! 😂😢
Dean is great

Are the screens small enough to contain baby brine shrimp. If so game changing product!
They make another model with a finer screen that should do it, look for BLT-2 "Fine Mesh".
Good design overall, but I wish there was a narrower one that would still provide enough swimming room for fry while not being so intrusive.
I’m wondering whether Dean sees any benefits to the Ziss boxes over his own fry system.
Good point. I guess his fry system is only built on one tank so maybe his application would be for when he runs out of tray room he can easily throw a breeder box in any tank he likes
@@smilebehappy6102 that's my point tho. It's easy to set up for people and to throw into a tank. Rather than building a fry system like Deans.
His is much more accessible i feel. This box is massive.
The Amazing Dean
If raising fry in a BL3 and feeding live baby brine, it would appear the LBB would not stay in the BL3 for the fry to graze on, or am I missing something?
Wish there was a hang on back version
Does the stainless steel on the bottom come off? So you can let the fry fall through when they're born.
no
Would you recommend placing a pregnant livebearer in there to give birth??
Can this be used for bettas?
Yes technically
Are the grates spacing small enough to keep the Rasbora and Danio fry in there? that's the biggest problem I had with the blue plastic breeder boxes.
That's what I am interested in as well!!
It has the metal mesh on the bottom, and then a protective plastic grating to protect possible eggs from being eaten through the mesh by sucker type fish. So baby fish shouldn't be able to fit anywhere.
@@Charlie-zt8ei right, it's the metal mesh i'm worried about, a lot of the fry i'm breeding are size of an eyelash.
@@spitz-mv6zb ive had one for years. The grating is small enough to prevent fry from being sucked out
Yes understood the bottom thing. But is the mesh still tight enough for little fry, like the mentioned rasboras etc, which swims to the side meshes?
Wait this is the other channel
I only use ziss breeder boxes.
I’m just wondering what he used for the fake eggs lol
For some reason this breeder box is 106$ U.S. on Amazon. I'm trying to figure out why, since everything else is in the 20$ range lol
Aquarium co op sells them for like $35
