Hey everyone! #halo #haloreach
When I was growing up, I grew up with PlayStation, so I didn't own an Xbox so playing Halo was a no go! The only way I could play Halo was at my friends' houses where they owned Xboxes' and Halo! So, all of this is a brand-new experience for me!

26:50 I never realized it until now but can we talk about how the Savanah absolutely stood on business. Severe damage, no slipspace drive, and therefore no escape route. They knew that they were simply buying time for Noble Team.
46:50 Carter (blue armor) telling Jun (green) to make sure nothing falls into enemy hands when escorting Halsey here is him ordering to kill her if they get cornered basically.
Narrative irony context: every noble's death was supposed to in some way be a reference to their character traits/flaws. (Some very loosely) George-wants to die on reach, dies just above it getting teleported to oblivion far away. Kat-the brains of the group gets shot in the head. Emil- battle maniac type, goes out swinging 🤷. Carter-the Captain goes 'down with the ship'. Six-the lone wolf, dies alone- the mission is also called lone wolf. Not that deep but fucked up when you first get told. Oh and Jun- the sniper who likes to draw away from the fight, is the only one to make it out.
@@beo3627 with kat I think it was actually an armor glitch, perhaps she failed to properly attach her helmet, you noticed how she failed to hit the elevator button once, she was shaken and that got her killed.
@@speedy01247 i think she was for sure shaken, that's what missing the button was, but I think the armor being down was bc of their proximity to the glassing
@@speedy01247 her energy shield wasn't on due to the glassing, once that hits, all shields are off
@@beo3627 That makes sense. I always thought it was just a really good shot because the sniper was one of the zealots from the beginning and zealots are basically the covenants special forces.
33:27 “I hope he’s the only one we lose” ohhh mannn 😅

Winter contingency meant “covenant on reach” or something like that, it was a directive in case the covenant found and invaded reach since reach is like earth 2.0 due to its resources and home to many many military projects and bases for humanity, that’s why the ai said 60% of the fleet was heading to assist reach
Thank you for the info! 🙏
Winter contingency is like a military rule for not letting the covenant get access to data that has locations of human colonies. The mission in reach has you blow up a human facility because it had sensitive information about human colonies.
@@Drearyx thanks for the info!
The Winter Contingency was a protocol for the UNSC outlining what would happen and what to do if the COvenant became aware of or were present on any major human stronghold world. Reach and Earth were the primary examples.
So basically, it’s like when Jon Snow said “Winter is coming.” Right?
The mission right before the ending cutscene and right after 6 looks upon the dust filled landscapes is actually an infinite mission where it just tells you that your current objective is to survive. But you cannot complete that objective. Your helmet gets cracks over time responding to the damage you take. It's called "Lone Wolf". It only ends once you die, and triggers the cutscene of Six taking his helmet off
The later levels you visit areas you have already been but the place is flooded because the heat generated by the covenant glassing the planet melted the polar ice caps.
Oh, so that’s what happened to the ozone layer 🤯
noble 6 was one of only 2 spartans ever to be given the "hyperlethal" designation, the other being the master chief himself.
The final cutscene where 6 dies only happens after somewhere between hour and DAYS (its never been clarified how long) of fighting by himself, and by the time of his final stand he was facing an entire army alone. The covenant had labeled him as the biggest threat to their invasion, and sent everything they had to kill him, telling their troops "he must die this day"
Also, the Elite that escaped at the beginning of the game is the same one that sniped Kat, stabbed Emile, AND he was the final enemy you kill in the game. He was the leader of a covenant spec-ops team whose sole purpose was to hunt down and kill noble team, and the sad part is, he technically succeeded.
one more smaller detail that I really like, Carter and Kat were confirmed to be in a relationship, so it makes it that much more impactful when at the beginning when the elites ambushed them Carter jumped in front of her to protect her, and when she died, he carried her body for 2 whole days before they could get an evac...
38:04 yep, that's the face. Everyone was hit the same the first time through that cutscene. Thx for the reaction!
46:50 When he said make sure nothing falls into enemy hands he mean't that if they we're captured kill Dr. Halsey.
At 51:51 if you move the right joystick or mouse to the right, you can see Master Chief asleep in his cryo-pod and unlock an achievement. This is, after all, the ship you start on in Halo 1, as Master Chief.
So one thing that isn't brought up, Jorge is a Spartan 2 like Master Chief. He was personally handled by Halsey much like Chief. It was funny though back in the day people mistaken Jorge as Halsey's son because the accent made Ma'am "sound like Mom" and she refers to it as 'her armour" when in reality she created the Spartan 2 suit so its technically her armour lol
The ma'am misunderstanding has always been so silly to me lmao. Maybe it's because I'm British, ig. But like he doesn't have an American accent at all in any other scene, so it would be incredibly strange and jarring for him to randomly and suddenly say "mom" in a thick American accent.
I love reach because unlike the other games you and your team aren’t some insanely lucky paragon of humanity. You’re just soldiers doing what little you can to salvage any remnants from an invading army that far outclasses anything you can throw at them. Yet despite all the sacrifice, you still lose the planet.
It’s a story of sacrifice and bravery in the face of certain doom. I think it’s a nice change of pace from the other games.
18:30 the aircraft’s are called banshees. Also Dr Halsey was the leader of the Spartan II program. She hand picked master chief and and the other Spartans as kids because their genetics, as well as their traits which made them ideal candidates for the program.
Nice reaction dude 👍. I too, never had Xbox, and only played most of the Halo games on PC with the master chief collection. Reach still remains to be my favorite.
Thanks again! Appreciate it 🙏
That’s one of the things I’m glad to have played as a kid I’m an Xbox guy but you guys have some classics I’ve never played the last of us lol
@@locket-7714 the last of us is good. ps3 has a lot of hidden gems tbh. tokyo jungle for example is way better than it has any right to be haha
Before there was Star Wars: Rogue One, there was Halo: Reach. Scrappy yet strong group of underdog soldiers fight for a new hope for their cause against an immense, powerful and unwavering enemy. And in the end, sacrifice themselves for the final victory.
Hey man, love your reactions. Its really nice to see people enjoy these amazing franchises and I love how down to earth your reactions are with your reactions and curiosities. You earned a new subscriber!
Thank you, I appreciate your support! 🙏
you can play halo on PC.
also 20:45 60% of the UNSC fleet showed up and they still lost.
another fact Noble team was constantly hunted by Elite Zealots, which is why they kept showing up and why there showed up to shoot kat. (open comms gave Nobles position away)
One thing you can compare halo reach to is Star Wars rogue one. Reach came out first but the story’s are fairly similar. Both follow a team tasked with retrieving and handling important data that would help with the war. Both connect to the first respect property this with halo 1 and rogue one with a new hope
Makes sense. That's a cool comparison 👍 Thanks for sharing!
33:27 ahhh brother I got bad news for ya. I still love this game and am so grateful it made it into the master chief collection.
This point in the video seems to be the highlight because of what I said 🤣 I had my hopes up for the remaining spartans
3:08 just a little bit of tidbit for you, the auto cannons you see on the Falcons (the rotary wing aircraft) are chambered in the same caliber as the M242 on the Bradley.
5:05 the main assault rifle you see them using a chambered in a modernized 7.62 x 49. They’re not really using cordite anymore despite how similarly it looks usually it’s more of a solid rocket fuel. Meaning it can be shot in space grenade launcher you see later on is also chambered in 40 Mike Mike.
Spartans are roughly equivalent to a mixture of Army CAG, Navy Seals and the CIA special activities division. The Spartan two would you only see one of through this game (Jorge) we’re abducted as six-year-olds and forced through a mixture of special forces training and and senior NCO leadership courses. That happened for six years until they were 14 which they’ve been doing steroids since they were roughly 12 they go through an augmentation course that kills half of the recruits and cripples 12 to 16 more. However, there’s a reason for all this, the UNC believes right, we are lonely that there would be a event similar to the bronze age collapse, which would kill trillions unless there’s distinct and sharp military action. That’s the down low on the Spartan to like chief and Jorge.
The Spartan threes like three the team are recruited as children as well, but they’re offered a chance at revenge because they are criteria is war orphans. This is when the covenant war starts I believe the first class came about in 2535.
34:31, The spartan is supposed to be you. Its the same spartan you play in multiplayer as, you can customize your gender armor and all that good stuff and it will show up in the game and cutscenes
Noble 6 was probably the 2nd most badass character in the whole halo series after master chief..a lot of people would argue he’s on the same level. Pretty much if noble 6 didn’t sacrifice himself to let the pillar of autumn take off chief would’ve died on reach
R.I.P. Noble Team. Like I said in the video, I thought we were only going to lose one, not the whole team.
the female civilian at Visagrad relay was speaking hungarian by the way
halo is a weapon. Destroys all sentient life within a single galaxy.

Thank you! Appreciate your words and support! 🙏 Make sure to share it with everyone then!
Little bit of general context before the events of the game. Correct me if I’m wrong as I never read any of the books:
Reach is a planet along the outer colonies of humanity. At this point in time humanity stretch too wide and earth (plus central colonies) had to rely on outer colonies for resources. Thus the outer colonies were heavily taxed and used. As a result, the outer colonies started rebelling. In response the UNSC developed Spartans as one way to counteract insurrectionist. During this period however humanity was aware of the covenant existence but they weren’t sure of how much of a threat they are. So before the covenant became a genocidal problem, there was a war between insurrectionist and the UNSC.
Going back to the first mission of the game REACH, Noble team was sent to investigate a relay station expecting rebels. But they then discovered the covenant. This would then lead to an all out war for humanity’s survival and the covenant’s genocide.
Thank you for the info! 🙏
Reach was also heavily used by the UNSC probably the second most important planet to them, and at this time the human covenant war had already started reach was more a last stand for the UNSC as if they lost reach, earth would most likely follow. The reason why it was such a surprise was neither side expected to see each other in the first place the covenant at that time had only one ship that was just doing some simple scouting.
At 23:45 when you daid how are they moving in that armor
They have special neurological implants si that whem they want to move the just think and the armor does most of the work for them
And another thing when kat dies
2 things
1: she missed the button on the elevator so kat and 6 came out later
2: she didn't put her helmet on until she got into the elevator if the helmet of their armor comes off it take roughly about 1 to 2 minutes for their shields to activate
A little long but its some insight, might have some inaccuracies here and there. So you can take it almost whole
@23:42 your question on how they move in that armor
Every UNSC member esp high ranking or important positions have a microchip implanted in their brain, think of it like a data storage that contains the relevant data to said personnel linked to their brain
So if you were to see Halo 2 cutscene, you will see a man ranked Admiral, he has a chip behind his head. E.g. Captains or whoever can have things like the self destruct code. So only under their chip, can the ship blow up.
So for these Spartans, the armor has a neural link interface, allowing the armor to react based on what they want. And their movements etc are all amplified.
Thus Spartans are all augmented, to ensure their reaction is peak. And their thought to action speed has to be on par. That way when the armor react, and their body moves, its in sync as well
@41:47 Spartan's armor. Also known as Mjolnir Armor, are designed to host an onboard AI, its is meant to be human with AI pairing designed to maximise efficiency in executing and division of workload to maximise survival.
Example where humans generally have a better sense of rationality of what to do on the fly, in cases where you simply can't react to many things, AI will automatically have actions be done for you in the best way possible to ensure survival.
Anyways. The reason is that onboard AI would link into the neural interface and into that chip in your head, so the AI would quite literally be in your head rent free, its like someone else is in your mind. So their thoughts would be intimate with yours, whatever they say or think will run through your head as well. And they know what you are thinking sort of based on your brain activity etc, thats how they align their best thought action to your own action.
But many are skeptical of having such thing into their head for obvious many reasons, be it discomfort to rogue AI to damaged brain to psychological issues to interference with their own action. Many...like how modern ppl of our time atm have many discomforts with AI progression and how humanity will proceed with the ever increasing AI proficiency, and when AIs are actually intelligent enough to be self aware. Which would also be the era where tech is alr reigning supreme and where would humans stand in terms of power and actual control
At the end where you mentioned why the massive amount of piano, is it supposed to be emotional
Yes it supposed to. For your context, Humanity expanded far beyond and had many colonies etc billions upon billions of lives per colony.
The Covenant had already destroyed every known colony. And pretty much left almost next to no survivors, glassing the planet surface to ashes. Even if you lived through the assault, you be left with nothing but ashes and you die out of starvation etc sooner or later and no help will come because of Covenant presence.
Reach is Humanity's biggest military planet from tech to RnD to military might.
And Reach is the last known colony, after Reach falls, the only final human homeland left would be Earth...
The fact that Reach fell so easily from July, they took about a month just to deal with one group and destroyed that ship with Noble 5 (Jorge) sacrifice. Then came a whole entire fleet, there you only realised what they struggled massively was only a small recon group.
And it took barely any time and they were swept away like they are dustmites.
All of humanity pinnacle military might destroyed in under 2 weeks when faced with the real fleet.
They knew. They were fighting a war with no hope. Even Humanity's biggest weapon of destruction, nukes literally could not dent the ship like the one where Noble 5 died destroying. It literally walks off intact due to energy shielding. Thats how hopeless it is. You have to go in and nuke from the inside just to deal damage and going in is already suicide. Every victory is a heavy loss and mostly a trap that set them back further. The army amassed for the spire lost just to destroy that and thinking they won, came their frigate destroyed.
But they kept fighting anyway for a small hope to comeback. And they did, because of every single life that kept fighting on Reach, no matter how small, from civilian to militia to soldier to spartan. That Cortana was delivered to Pillar of Autumn, and that she was the game changer for later to be paired with Master Chief in Halo 1 2 and 3 and they survived and won because of it. Barely.
The importance of Reach and everyone in it was a key role for why Humanity survived. Their sacrifice. Because every sec they spent drawing fire is every Covenant that spends more time clearing human remnants as opposed to being dedicated to chasing Pillar of Autumn. The fleet that chased that ship almost got all of them. So imagine just 1 ship alone if finished exterminating humans, chased the ship, wouldve made the difference of making the event of Halo 1 2 3 not possible. Every sec they bought is bought for Earth. And all the time they bought was just enough for Earth to survive their annihilation.
As for Noble Six at the end, he spent about 3 weeks if i rmb correctly, he rallied any survivors, spartans, civilians, militias, anyone to create a small strike group and kept fending off the Covenant around them that chased them like hunters to wild rabbits. From area to area. Scavenging any weapons etc to fight. In hopes that they would be evac out by anyone.
But their area was too hot for anyone to save them as compared to some areas of Reach. So it was a slow impending doom for Six and the rest.
Master Chief at the end of 1 went back to Reach and managed to pull out some survivors but they were of separate areas to Six.
Six as you seen, was the last of the group he rallied and he died fighting, taking down as many as he could.
And fun fact that Red Elite which is Zealot class, his group was tasked as the hunters of Noble Team, its the same Elite when they were engaged at Visegrad Station and ran away.
He is responsible for the death of the Nobles that were murdered and hunted.
The same one that Carter ordered Emile to not chase, so that initial command was also what led to Noble quick downfall, ironically Halsey's statement to his actions of Puppet Vs Spartan.
Cuz had he been a Spartan, he wouldve made his own judgement that Zealot was far important and be killed. And that might had Noble be on better standings, maybe..maybe not..
And that Red Zealot appeared again and was the final blow to Six.
Thank you for putting the time and effort into this! Appreciate it!
*salute* rest in peace Noble Team. Their sacrifice literally saved humanity from extinction.
R.I.P.
FYI the ai was Cortana

Jorge is a Spartan 2 hence why he is so much bigger than the other Spartans who are Spartan 3’s. Halsey created the Spartan programme but was brought off it when the Spartan 3’s were created, hence the animosity with the rest of the team but not Jorge.
you really need to see Halo: CE if you like this kind of stuff
CE is where it all started (the original graphics are better for the mood of that game than the remaster, the remaster makes everything too bright and saturated)
Also, here's some spartan lore for you!! Spartan IIIs (All of Noble Team except for Jorge) Were taken into the UNSC as children, who were all orphaned because of Covenant attacks on the colonies. Not all of them had Shielded (Mjolnir) Armor. Only the best of the IIIs had the advanced armor. The rest of them had SPI armor, which was cheaper and easier to mass produce. Spartan IIs (like Jorge and Master Chief) were abducted as children, and they were chosen carefully. They were replaced the children with 'flash clones' that died not too long after, as to not raise suspicion that children just randomly went missing. All Spartans though, were trained since they were taken. They were also given augmentations, giving them superhuman strength and speed. If they didn't have those augments, their armor would quite literally crush their bodies with the sheer weight of it. That armor makes a spartan close to 400 pounds if i remember correctly.
Thanks for the lore! By the way, I already reacted to Combat Evolved. It's on the channel

Current objective: Survive
The TV show is the worst thing you can base anything off of. It’s basically an entirely different thing 💀 Master Chief is the biggest example, the TV shows master chief isn’t even close to being the master chief from the game.
Halo reach is the only game i really remember a lot. I played at least 200 hours of it. I do like that season 2 was so much better, but the reach was so disappointing, i mean, it could have been worse, but still, compared to the halo reach game, that show sucked.
I don't read books, and i do hear the book is even better. If i ever read fictional books, the fall of reach will have to be one of them.
Remember Reach
Jun-A266 (the last surviving member of Noble Team) would go on to become an advisor within the SPARTAN-IV training program.
Noble Team were all SPARTAN-IIIs, and Master Chief was a SPARTAN-II. SgtMaj. Avery Jr. Johnson would be considered a SPARTAN-I (a failed program compared to the next generations.)
The SPARTAN-IV program is the one which is most prevalent following the Human-Covenant War, with one notable member being GySgt. Edward Buck (who was an ODST that actually served on Reach like Six did.) He would have met Six briefly during the Battle of New Alexandria.
The reason Halsey was rude to Noble Team is because they are made up of Spartan 3s not counting Jorge (Spartan 2) she created Spartan 2
Not sure if you heard about what’s going on with Xbox right now but apparently they’re dropping focus on consoles and are moving a ton of exclusives to PlayStation, one of which will be the halo franchise. So soon you might be able to play.
Someone did mention that in one of my other videos and I did look it up. Thanks though!
