Biscuits for Smut’ "The riff was an accident. I was visiting my family and I had a beautiful blue G&L guitar with me that I had just put new strings on. I picked it up a half-hour later and it was tuned to an open A7 chord. I loved the sound and the feel with that tuning, and I immediately came up with the harmonic thing at the intro. The lyrics are kind of a combination of a few things. My grandfather, who we called Grandpa Bones, had told me a story about his dog, Smut, that he had growing up in Oklahoma. One day his mom - my great-grandmother Momo - made some biscuits, but she overcooked them and they were too hard so she threw them out the door for the dog. I liked that idea. Then I started thinking about a serial killer story, and I just put those two things together. I wrote the song in about 15 minutes."

Jazz trained bands always seem to have that pocket groove.Helmet and Living Colour are 2 that come to mind.If you listen closely to this song it's a jazz tune
Both are tight as fuck. My initial reaction was Fuck No. But then i thought maybe. These guys id say are one of my faves. Where as Primus is not necessarily. I saw Helmet twice. That bass tone is just insane. What a cool groove. And i love how the snare is cutting through.
hell ya its so good. slimy bass tight snare and drums. love the sound they achieve.
Their snare was one of the tightest of the 90s.

Waaaaaay underrated band.
Here's another "underrated" comment. I think Helmet were rated pretty high for people who knew music.
Very underrated
@@KamenKunchev agreed - highly rated by those that know
The degree to which lesser musicians plagiarized them is kinda mind blowing

Can’t and won’t ever get tired of this song or this band.

I agree. All Helmet people are ours.

God that bassline is killer. And that guitar riff is haunting
Perfect band. Philosophy, social commentary, damn tight instrumental. No rival, especially in this day and age.
Rod Alexey tightest
This song is a masterpiece, very metallic sounding like it was made by robots in a rusty industrial factory.
This is such a grunge classic. 90s written all over it
So glad I can listen to whatever I want. Reject modern music embrace this music.
Lmaooo calm down
Such an addictive riff!
There are so many tones but bass and drums just kick ass. Thick with a punch. Love it.

Really interesting techniques with this video. Rotoscoping, stop motion papermation, even a PXL2000? Cool stuff.
The original Snapchat !
Reminds me of early Toy Machine skate videos --- Ed Templeton's creativity on and off and all around the board. . . the 90s were chill
I love how the fans are with the band there, dancing and jamming with them as well. That Page smile at the end of the video is cool as hell.
there's a Nirvana interview somewhere on youtube from Reading fest or something and you can hear Helmet playing in the background.
Crazy when you realize that we live on the same planet where such things occurred 😂
