From being hated opponents in the UWF a few years prior to forming a tag team that dominated The Steiner Brothers like nobody else. They should've lasted longer in WCW but I heard Gordy was suspended for substance abuse!?
+Martin Randall Always thought Williams and Stan Hansen were a tough duo in Japan Wrestling as well. Saw film of Hansen and Brody wrestling as a tag team too in Japan....plain awesome pair!!
@@TheStuport Hansen and Brody was No. 1. Gordy and Williams would have been the second in the history. I wanted to see their match-up but it's a dream now.
Yeah !! ...The M. V. Connection - "Bam Bam" & "Dr.Death" They were the kings of Japan and they rarely lost.💪Another tag team that could have been better were.... "Bam Bam" Gordy & "The Lariat" Hansen ...But, ....It's Obvious that they couldn't face each other !!!!.....
Doc and Bam Bam were a fearsome team, rough tough and mean as hell. It always shocked me that they didn't get as much of a push that they deserved, they were clearly over as a heel tag team. The nasty boys, Arn and Tully, the stieners, the dudleys, the midnight express (stan and bobby), the gangstas, the freebirds, doc and terry gordy. Pile drivers on the floor, chair shots, jumping people in the parking lot, and bloody brawls, and mic skills. This is what these guys did that made them masters of their craft, not this crap they show today. I miss that good ol saturday night wrasslin. The freebirds and von erichs had the best fueds.
Bryan Allen is 100% correct about Terry Gordy. Bam Bam could brawl with the best of them BUT the man could WRESTLE. He had it all, power, balance, agility and ring psycology. His battles with Steve Williams for the UWF Title are some of the best matches EVER!!!!!!! Those matches were violent and beautiful at the same time. I watch matches from the 60's, 70's & 80's on you tube because Sports Entertainment SUCKS, I watch WRESTLING. RIP Bam Bam & Doc.
During the days when wrestling was basicall 'good guys vs bad guys', Williams and Gordy were actually the first heels that I actually thought were very good. This is way before the stone cold steve austin era aswell. I remember watching this interview as an 11 year old and it immediately caught my attention.
Terry Gordy looks great here! He lost weight. All 4 of these men were legit tough! Terry Gordy and Dr. Death were an awesome team. Too bad they didn't stay together for a long time
I used to go fishing with Terry back in soddy daisy and before his car wreck a gentle giant for sure I'll never ever forget him nor his nephew Richard one of my best friends I cannot forget at Terry's funeral a stupid mark coming up and wanting Mike hayes autograph so not the right time i thought for sure Mike would pummel the dude but no the man that he is he gave him an autograph r.i.p. my friend terry
Wow!! I send my love to Michael Hayes and Gordy’s friends and family. Hearing your story makes me sad, but grateful at the same time. Every bit of information, regardless of size, is a gift for the greater good-a beautiful disaster if you will. But seriously, do you remember if this mark had any social skills? Was he drunk or just a fool who didn’t care about anyone except himself? Mad props to Gordy’s son (??) for practicing restraint; showing respect to God, and his father.
@@thechaz83 nah he was just being a jerk most marks don't realize the he crap they go thru on a daily basis I've always been a mark for the business in general I grew up basically backstage whith the guys and their families my dad was a cop R.I.P pop but back in the territory days back when wrestling came to Chattanooga they'd always call my dad and Terry's brother inlaw to do the security dad would always brought me along backstage of course they were regular guys and their families always came first
Except kobashi they guy beat his cancer by giving it a fuck ton of chops not flair chops burning sword style chops and then a burning hammer but yeah doc and bam came pretty close
Even after Gordy's OD and being in a coma he never was the same... Mick Foley faced Gordy in Japan and felt sorry for him so he told him.."TERRY HIT ME WITH EVERYTHING YOU GOT"...When they went to the floor Gordy hit Foley about 6 times about the left eyebrow and just split it open..Foley said..."HE LAID MY EYEBROW OPENED WITH JUST HIS FIST"....Even though he was never the same, we still had a good match...RIP "BAM BAM".
Can you imagine saying this on WWE TV today, reminds me of the famous Harley Race rant on Ron Simmons a boy like you carried my bags, be a good errand boy and take a message back to Sting, also Piper's Pit saying that Atlas and Johnson had to go back home and plow the fields.
It was interesting how Dr. Death and Bam Bam were so great together. Both of them personalities grown together. Especially how the Freebirds used to beat up on Mr. Bill Watts.
i remember watching this match. i was rooting for the steiners as i liked them more than a lot of the tag teams in the wwe (w/ the road warriors as the exception) yet i got more into dr. death and bam-bam. they were bad-asses.
Remember this tornament when these 2 teams faced off .After this match both teams faced off for the WCW Tag Team Titles which Doc and Gordy won and later on they won the tournament for the NWA Tag Team Titles unifying both titles .Doc and Gordy were a kickass tag team .RIP to both of them .
Some people seem to forget that,Terry Gordy could wrestle as well as brawl. We mostly think of him as a brawler (which he was) but hell,he could still wrestle with the best of em.I only got into wrestling cos of the Freebirds.I figured, hell,if they love Skynyrd, they cant be all bad.And they wasn't.But once Terry died,& the World Class folded due to all the deaths,I gave up watching it.I will watch it in youtube from time to time, but I won't watch it on T.V no more cos it sucks these days.
I also think that despite all the criticism that he gets, Cowboy Bill Watts was a good guy to run WCW and an excellent booker with Bischoff during this time. He used Rick Rude, the greatest Heel ever to his maximum potential and made Vader look like an undestructable juggernaught as the world champion. While WWE fans were worshipping 'pukeamania' the WCW was writing the WRESTLING rulebook. Its a shame that they threw it all away to look more like the WWE.
A few years later David Flair came onto the scene. One wrestler I remembered jobbing to him was Bobby Eaton. I was all….come on, really? Do you think fans are going to believe this crap? Yeah, WCW did have it all and we need their style now more than ever.
Would’ve been interesting watching a match between Terry Gordy and a later “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner reincarnation. Then we add another match: Heel Rick Steiner vs Scott Norton vs Dr. Death, maybe a good old fashioned steel cage match!!!
Watts had made some comments in an interview intending to show what kind of a no-nonsense boss he was. Instead they wound up sounding kind of racist, and Hank Aaron, who worked w/ Turner, TBS, and the Atlanta Braves told Turner if Watts wasn't fired for it, he'd never work for Turner again. Who you going to side with, a baseball legend, or your wrestling promoter? Watts always claims he figured he wouldn't stay long anyway.
This is what good wrestling is and looks like. Today's wrestling has no tournaments. They just do the cheap battle royal to determine number 1 contenders.
@iconoclasm12345 I agree with the Syeiners being lowballed/ But I liked the idea of having this match for free. It probabaly generated a lot of interest by fans.
Miracle Violence Connection one of the baddest tag teams ever. Doc & Bam Bam were awesome. So sad both are gone now. R.I.P.

Doc and Gordy taking out Steiners opponents for them to ensure they meet in the 2nd round.....awesome stuff!
Missy was so gorgeous at this point in her career... my favourite babe of wrestling.
Did you know that she took bumps?

It is just like tery committed suicide .he was overfill of drugs
Damn. I remember this like yesterday. I was so excited for this match.

Rhonda Holloway He's my all-time favorite as well.
Terry gordy was my favorite too.one of the only reasons i used to watch the uwf.passed away way too young

The Dudleys havent even started wrestling training when this was filmed, sir.
They didn’t get a huge push because they were back and forth between the NWA and Japan. Japan paid better.
This is a traditional All Japan style match up - this was an Awesome match up, Doc n Gordy had such great chemistry with the Steiners

Uhh, Hogan was thinning out during Watts' time. This was when Flair and Savage were feuding. But go off.
Wasn't this the same guy who was showing favoritism to his Son Eric Watts . By having a Wrestler like Arn job for his Kid Eric
A few years later David Flair came onto the scene. One wrestler I remembered jobbing to him was Bobby Eaton. I was all….come on, really? Do you think fans are going to believe this crap? Yeah, WCW did have it all and we need their style now more than ever.
Ultimate Bill Watts match-
Brilliant stuff!
WCW in 1993 was awesome.
+wtf66611 this was 1992
Hogan was an employee of TBS, not WCW, WCW's on screen budget couldn't afford Hogan, but the Superstation could
AJPW vs. NJPW
So if the Steiners were the 1 seed and Doc and Gordy were the 4 seed, who were the 2 and 3 seeds?
Has it ever been pointed out how Eric bischoff is a dead ringer for synth god Gary Numan?
Whatever happened to those Puerto Ricans? Did they not show up for the show or was it Kayfabe all along?

Holy crap…The Steiner Brothers against Dr Death and Terry Gordy? As bad as WCW was towards the end they had some insane matches in the 80s/early 90s

I remember those days too =)
LONG LIVE THE MIRACLE VIOLENCE CONNECTION!
Really thought WCW was great in 92
It really was. You had the Dangerous Alliance, Doc and Gordy vs the Steiners, Vader, and Ron Simmons being the first black world champion.
MISSY GAVE AWESOME HEAD.
Rip to both
Bill Watts would have been better as a heel manager of UWF guys like Doc and Gordy. He could have been a heel commissioner.

is this the second match these two tag teams had in WCW
So that's why we never saw the Steiners vs the fame Puerto Rican team? The crash?
