change your standard hvac pleated air filter to a polyester reusable filter and save on $$$$$ .
if you use your air conditioner alot during summer and heater during winter than you may benifit from this swap. typically you'll need to change out the filters every 3 ton4 months . this method requires to simply wash dry and re insert. some of the units I maimtaimf have kept the same one for years.

That's a swamp cooler pad. Lol. Will work though. I have seen filters that was literally nothing. Hope the flow is good enough and you don't restrict your system.

It does not restrict the flow anymore than the regular one unless they never get cleaned then it will
