Want a 15% damage boost, just by pressing a single button on your controller?
well here it is, folks, the single best damage booster in the game!
You just might be using it already, but in all likelihood, you're not using it correctly, and you're leaving a ton of damage on the table.
Can you guess what it is?
Did you say heroics? well, that is powerful, but it takes more than a single button press to activate.
Fortitude? ok, also powerful, but also harder to activate.
Coming in right behind those two, and even more powerful than Attack Boost 7, is....

Offensive guard is by far my favorite skill in MH right now. Easy to prock it makes playing lance that much more rewarding. Not only are you a wall you get an easy damage boost for playing well. Looking forward to that sns guard slash video. It is a technique I don't have nay experience with.
standard combo finish with shield bash, then break that animation with guard slash. personally, i am really starting to love my endless falling shadow build. hit rank 420 this morning
Lance guy: "Oh yeah, I have that on all the time".
I love the quality of your video. New sub 👍🏾
I am using the same for Lance... Guard-Spiral Thrust game play
Subbed!!!
I only had offensive guard one because it was on one of my armor pieces I was using for another skil, but I did notice its effects pretty immediately its a nice boost!
If you get enough guard skill to block a hit without being launched back then sword and shield can also reliably use guard slash to proc offensive guard while waiting for wirebugs to recharge etc. Which means it can have some crazy up-time, especially if you opt to box the monster instead of going into perfect rush after the automatic shield bash it gives. Even then simply knowing that I can guard point stuff at will has boosted my survivability on the sns massively.
You can proc offensive guard with just a block, too!
@@iixxion ooo okay!
Honestly guard slash is now my fav move for SnS, not only can guard any attack with it with the right amount of skills, but most of the time you can go straight into the fury combo straight from it and now I use it more then the switch skills. Wish I learnt about this sooner
Patiently waiting for that guard slash video
a video on brutal strike GS and how viable it is might be fun
Offensive guard is insane for Gunlance "Slap and normal style" especially with Sunbreak
Offensive Guard is great, for starter you can just spam Guard Slash and it will activate once a monster hit you, timing is important but even without it within 3 to 5 times spamming Guard Slash it will just activated
Fortitude is harder to activate than heroics? My garbage ass would like to have a word
LOL! I believe in you!
Can confirm that this skill alone majes any loadout with sns that much more destructive.
I mostly go for a more defensive or regen-focused set-up that lets me almost completely negate my need to stop and heal. Only offensive skills I got are offensive guard, the respective element attack up, a single level of slugger, and element exploit should that weapon have it right now.
To help ensure I can actually make use of each proc, I emphasize both Guard Slash and the Metsu with some basic blocks all wrapped up with max level guard. Lets me absolutely ravage most monsters even without the 'optomization.'
Although, if I had complete control with what my talisman can be, maxed Weakness Exploit, max Crit Element, and maybe some minds eye for hard parts with high element values, allowing element exploit to shine.
First of all, great content. But i still havent understand if Offensive Guard will trigger only on Guard points, or as well on "normal guarding" if the timing is right . If i just press Block the moment an attack hits me, will i receive the dmg boost? Or do i need to use the silkbind move.
It triggers for both silkbinds as well as regular block
All you have to do is block, right before the monster hits you. You'll see some red sparkles and glowing. Replay the video and you can see the effect when I block the training dummy, and the monster attacks. Offensive guard will work simply by blocking with your shield.
Hmm... If you investing some slot guard, you might also be using the new guard slash GP that flows into perfect rush as well
it just that I just began play rise on PC and yet to have grasp on monster moves' power, feels wierd that that move can't GP roar but can GP some move that looks more powerful without any guard skill
Thanks for the tip! I am going to make a video about Guard Slash in the near future! It's a really cool move that is largely overlooked.
Man, i once tried to pull sns Offensive Guard build in Iceborne and it backfired spetacularly lmao.
Never tried S&S in World but I decided to give it a go here, having some trouble dealing actual damage unless I'm counter attacking or the monster falls. Nargacuga is also a nightmare since I always end up in front of him and my attacks bounce off his legs (no Mind's Eye yet for me) but I didn't think I'd like this weapon so much. I'm a bow main but this was fun to use for a few hunts. I just need to practice more
Check out my SNS tutorial if you haven't already!
@@iixxion That's what got me to try it initially. I just need to practice :)
Man what would we do without UA-cam, if only the Skill said in the description that you just have to time the Block at the right moment and the red glow couldn't be more of an indicator that it activated. Plus the skill isn't active for a long time, so if you can't follow up with a strong combo, it is pretty pointless to put in.
Offensive Guard carries Lance pretty hard.
Shame Rise has given Lance the short end of the stick.
So If I press zr and x using the charge blade for a GP at the perfect moment it'll still activate offensive guard? Like not holding block at all beforehand just pressing them simultaneously when the attack hits?
A true gp is a block, so yes.
Bruh i saw u using sns sooo im looking for dps sns can u help me bruh?
mate check out counter strick, i run with counter strike + offensive guard with Diablos weapon 350+ AP on SNS with Dango boost
How do i join the discord? The twitch link isnt working for me 😢
I'll check it out and update it! Thanks for the heads up!
After watching this video to the end, I started looking for the video teased about the guard slash. Failing to find it yet has left me disappointed.
A couple of you have asked for it now. I've been putting it off for a while, and now that Sunbreak is almost upon us, I'm thinking they might just buff the guard slash, so I kind of want to wait until Sunbreak to release the video. I do believe they buffed Guard Slash a bit in an earlier patch, to the point where it's easier to activate it now, with lower tiers of the Guard skill. If you haven't used the move in a while, revisit it. I think you'll find it a bit easier to use! Nobody talks about guard slash, so nobody is really trying new things with it (except me, of course, I'll try anything once...or ten times).
Can slider skill work with the slide attack on sns?
Sadly, Affinity Sliding armor skill does not trigger on the sliding sns attack.
@@iixxion I guess that would make it op thanks for the info!
Can someone count how many times did he says offensive guard and guard point lol?
I hope you didn't find it offensive...LOL (guard)
So I can just normally block to proc it?
Normal block, but you have to block JUST before the attack hits you.
@@iixxion yea I been doing it now
sns become lance now
