Even if my hunt took an extra 10 minutes over a higher damage set, it wouldn't matter for 9/10 of those runs on the better damage set because they all would get carted 3 times and have to retry. Im not very well experienced with MH:Rise, I only have 200 hours. But in MH:World, Evade Window and learning trumps all. Obviously unless you’re a speedrunner you’ll still get hit, but not getting hit most of the time because of extended i-frames is the best. Endgame armors will keep you from getting one-shot and if you aren’t stunned or stuck in a combo you can use a max potion and be right back in. This game series has ALWAYS been about learning what you’re fighting and learning to dodge is also part of that.

Actually.. if you dont need any more Elem risistance skills if you dont have any negative resistance... Resistance maxes at 50... You just need to start on blue scroll 5-deff boost 10-dragCon 15-dragCon in blue scroll after 40 hits 20- furious when switching to red... All in all... That's 50 to all resistance.. 62 element overall.. Just make sure you have 15 resistance on all elements on blue scroll and you're good..

Main Bow in world and DB in Rise, after finishing sunbreak started making bows and I kind of gave up them for LBG and HBG, I still try to learning now and then but is so fucking annoying not having a counter, even LBG has one, that with the fact that capcom almost killed iFrames and is impossible to have EW maxed without losing dmg because you already need 452152 core skills just don't help, in World I could agree Bow are broken, but in rise? it so hard to play that it should have the highest dmg in the game, my respect to everyone that had the patience to learning all monsters attacks number of hits and the correct time to dodgebolt, I think I don't have the motivation to learn bow when I can just use DB or HBG and demolish anything faster and easier lol

Different take, but I don’t think you nailed the true essence of the problem. To get started, I’m definitely on argument A’s side that both titles (or all MH titles) are great! That said, MHW is technologically superior to Rise in many facets. Rise was built for a less powerful performing console. It’s part of the 5th generation and is thus incredible, but World was built with more resources and a higher budget. This helps us understand why new players introduced with World feel like it’s a step back. Furthermore, the hate going to rise isn’t only coming from World noobs (far from it). I can’t begin to mention the sheer quantity of criticism coming from the OGs about wirebugs influence on combat destroying the essence of MH and thus dub it trash. I personally loved the high speed action of Wirebugs, but many from the olden days do not. I personally do believe that World’s more grounded ecology and culture appeal to a wider audience than the Fantastical nature of rise that does often feel over the top. Whether this is Western influence or not seems to be more or less irrelevant. Both Eastern and Western gamers love the immersion that World offers. While there is so much more I could present regarding the conflicted feelings, I felt your video was more a bashing session against World noobs and less of a fair evaluation of the underlying problem. It’s like you formed a bias as to what is happening and sought to prove it rather than search for a proper explanation and then assigning a verdict. I don't know if this was a well-known stuff or I'm just slow, but 4:58 this weapon here Kaktusemolgia has secret Element properties, it only says Fire element of 45, but actually it has another hidden stat of Poison. I just found this out last month, and wondering why I inflict poison on Toadversary, turns out I check the weapon description says it all. Do any people know any hidden traits like this (beside the ones that they explicitly explain in the tutorial like for example weapons from Velkana, Chaos Magala, etc)?

8:30 I've seen that issue in other games too. Planetside 2 with the TR victim complex being one of them. It's so silly. A lot of people online really don't see bigger pictures and stick with the victim mindset.

I'm rewatching this while putting in Divine Blessing when I already got above 1360 Defense at my highest point Defense-wise (I have around 1000 base defense before the temp buffs and spiri-birds.) It's so funny when those really high damage attacks don't even need a Mega Potion. (Blood Rite would probably be nice for that...) It's only two level 4 slots for a lvl 2 Divine Blessing and a lvl 5 Defense Boost. And with built-in Intrepid Heart I can just dodge small hits and shrug off the hard to dodge ones. It actually reduced my hunt time by a lot against a fast heavy hitter.

Coming back to this a couple years later to say that the button mapping when switching between melee / ranged are absolutely unforgivably atrocious. Even the sheathed wirebug and rodeo mappings change. Both here and World. It's absolute nonsense to the point that I have to swap between kbm and controller to make sense of it all!

when i first starte rise they told me this to...they said dont use defence boost i never listed to them now in sunbreak my defence is 1200 it helps so much

People who says Powder Vortex "awkward" or "lacking in damage" probably are YT speedrunners who memorized all monsters' attack pattern to consistently dodge efficiently while pulling True Charge Slash all the time without missing a weakspot. Being able to dish thousands of true damage regardless of weakspot from a safe distance is actually a good DpS. People may argue that it's hard against agile enemies, like aren't every weapon hard to hit against them? LOL

Copium at it's finest lol. Switch chipset was already several years out of date and struggled with numerous games. As for the Doom port, I played it, it ran decent but with heavy compromises. And that's just one example. Don't even get me started on Nintendo's first party titles like Xenoblade 2, BOTW, Fire Emblem, Pokemon. That alone is proof that Switch is nowhere near powerful enough to run a game as large and complex as MHW. This video is revisionist history...

Mh gen was my first of the games then i played 4 ultimate, followed by world and then lastly rise and honestly i would say out of the monster hunter games ive played that world is my definitely my least favorite. It felt like they were trying to hard. I was very worried when people were saying that world was the future of the monster hunter series so you better believe i let out a huge sigh of relief when rise came out and was more similar to the older games

maaaaan I just unlocked dragon conversion, then almost instantly got crazy lucky by augmenting an extra point of dragon conversion on my Valstrax chest AND one on my Primal helmet. First time getting lucky in this game, but feels good haha

I’ve found if you constider endemic life defence boosts from various things such as items it’s not hard to get into the 1460+ defence 600+ raw and 250 + elemental on say hunting horn for every element consistently in the end game so you don’t have to sacrifice defence for offense you can have both. And let’s not even think about weapons with shields with what you can get with just a bit of guard and guard up

hello, appreciate the effort on the video, i learned a great deal. one thing about the Rapid Morph skill though, is that while the attack boost may be irrelevant to the damage dealt, i find the quicker attack motion is key in getting the ultra out in situations where the attack window is smaller. my 2 cents, have a great day and happy hunting!

Bring back ancient potion but make the mats much more expensive bam. So you can eitwr grind outside of hunts or get spiribirds during a hunt. Problem solved 20/10 solution your welcome.

I'm sorry but anyone who genuinely believes a Switch or Switch 2 will actually be powerful enough to run a game as massive as Wilds is just delusional. Nintendo's consoles struggle to run their own first party titles like BOTW, Fire Emblem Three houses, Xenoblade 2, literally every pokemon since Sun/Moon etc. It's not going to happen.

my biggest issue with the spirit bird system is that its completely counter intuistive to a lot of rises systems. they finally have the random join request feature that is awesome. they have proper warp points on the maps to get to monster faster but then i join a 8 min hunt and spend 2 mins on collecting bugs I did the game through on switch and PC and can def say that on PC with the full rainbow bug at the start of a hunt the experience was just more enjoyable. thing is to i still would collect endemic life to use to just felt less forced now.

I know old video. I almost always use def boost. I trade dmg and heal from the hit through regen/bloodlust ect. My dps is higher because I have a vision to follow through knowing I can take a hit.

Amazing video. Most calculation/guide are made by people already good at the game, thus they often assume that the viewer will play the game perfectly as well. They also often think that the only guide worth making/watching is the one that can help you kill the monster as quick as possible with perfect execution. I would much more prefer a 30 minutes of 'safe' hunt rather than 15 minutes of 'do perfectly or die' hunt. Fuck the meta

I always thought speedruns are pointless, not fun and barely functional as a way to get instruction on what to do in games. I've never understood all the hype around a person finishing something so fast you can't even enjoy what that is about, and why bother playing something just for chasing meta equipments/builds to show how badass you are to a bunch of randos online...
