Just wondering, if I have a dedicated healer, like let's say the crystalline cleric build, can I just make this a non-undead dwarf ? Or is there another reason to go undead that I'm not aware of ?
As someone who is playing through this game on the Switch and has found your builds extremely helpful so far, I’m so glad you’re still making these guides! Thank you!
Started a build with this concept and came looking to see if anyone had made a video for a build like this! It's my first playthrough, and I wanna add: the poison totems will heal you very often. I didn't expect their AI to actually prioritize healing me when I'm low, but they do! It was super helpful in the gladiator fight at Fort Joy, and for Griff
Thank you for coming back to DOS2. You probably are the only channel that I rely upon when it comes to DOS2 build and, If it isn't too much to ask, an update on Definitive Edition build would be much appreciated.
I just finished a play through using a summoner build. I went down a completely different path from this one, but it worked out decently. It was my first time playing this game so all of my skills and talents etc were a bit scattered, but I somehow managed to make my character tank everything. I didnt prioritize which ones I would be using so my hot bar was filled to the 3rd area of it will skills. In all I would recommend a summoner playthrough to anyone because it's fun watching your totems and incarnate wipe out everyone without making you move your character too far.
And you said you were done with builds 😉 I started another as well hehe.... Dual lonewolf shadowknights, and I noticed that when both sk's cast shackles of pain the ai literally goes limp and dumbfounded. It's almost just as good as being invisible, I'm guaranteed more turns. Absolutely hilarious. Thanks for more great builds and ideas for a great game Fextra!! Be safe...
Just got some friends to buy the game on sale. I'll try my first multiplayer experience. I remember these build guides from when I first played two years ago. Cool to see you're still at it.
Could you make a vid on the new talents we can get from the new giftbags and talk about how they could effect some of the builds that you've made, that would be quite interesting.
This would be cool to pair with a Scourge Wizard aswell as maybe another summoner along with your hydro user. Have almost everyone hanging back with your tank in front and then just constant back and forth between slows, poison and explosions with incarnates immune to the damage they're summoned
especially when you pair it with a necro party member that has shackles of pain + Deathwish (massive damage boost based on % of missing life+ living on the edge (prevents being killed for 2 turns)
@@Valkirth that's actually a good point cause you can still poison blood pools so you could just go for a necro with some hydro just for heals for your non undead characters for early game. Think I have my next party comp
@@ross8093 I know this was ages ago, but I have a question! I haven't played before and I'd love to try this! Only how would Shackles work if the Undeath Incarnate is taking all the aggro? Won't the other party members be away from the damage?
@Fextralife did a build very similar I suppose to this, undead but full tank no summons. However it did use lone wolf but it could be done without it. 10 retribution, 10 necro, 10 warfare ( LW stats ) and just face tank the game. Max str and constitution, nothing can kill you. Finished the game with a friend in no time both using very similar builds and just reflecting everything and using Reactive armor + Shackles of pain like a giant bomb. Nice build though.
Forgot of course to mention the 3 poly and 2 points into geo for fortify and mend metal, used poly for wings, tentacle lash and bull horns. Anyway again nice build.
I can't do it, man. I can't do it yet. 800+ hours into this game and I STILL haven't completed it yet on Honour Mode, because I KEEP RESTARTING TO TRY NEW BUILDS. Do you not understand this, Fextralife? Do you not *understand?* Yes, I will give this magnificent-looking build a go later, but I *MUST COMPLETE THE GAME, FIRST.*
I would imagine perseverance would be really good in this build. I never really see any points put into perseverance, leadership, or retribution for any of your builds. Are these skills just mathematically poor?
Glass Cannon is a blessing but also a curse, you get max AP but you can get CC’d, especially by a mage with mind domination or archers with charm arrows. You’d have to keep clear minded, fortify, and magic shell scrolls on deck, (you should already.)
Perseverance especially and leadership as well are poo imo (played 500 hrs but mostly 2man parties) retribution can be good if you're building megatank basically
Retribution got nerfed, i used a mod that restored it to original form and it was broken as fuck especially maxsd with necromancy you are literally immortal
Retribution is still okay it used to be amazing though especially on a necromancer enemies would usually kill themselves once you casted shackles of pain enemies were pretty much fighting each other with out knowing ot its still fun now just not as good and relies a bit on getting lucky with armor that gives Retribution
Hey a new build :) It seems like a really fun build! I'm currently playing with a similar build, warfare/summoner/poly build for the Red Prince and it have been quite enjoyable. Hope to see more new builds from you.
A physical damage version of this build is a poison wand to hit your feet or where you intend to stand during combat (sneak then unsneak on top of it). Throwing Shield is based off your shield stats and finally the totems are based off summoning skill and can be cast every turn to keep three, throw shield every two turns. For say, too few enemies to care to 'tank'. For early 10-incarnate (level 6!) All Skilled Up+savescumming rings/rewards for the final 3 points to get 10. Get to 10 with hard points so you may pick gear freely to keep the 10-carnate, plus the gnarly totems you end up with early.
Hey 😊 Oddly enough nmonic stacks. I have two nmonics on the same hero. I will have to go in game and look again soon(but from 1 item and character ability combined). Busy day. Also I don't know of peeps know, but stacking buffs to incarnate ALL stack. I use three or two for mega damage and range of skills. This build is fantastic and I cannot wait to try
Hello thank you for this amazing build I lovd it. I'm having trouble with my party composition. What would be the best party composition for this build?
Out of interest are your builds based on Classic or Tactician mode? I’m new to the game and have started playing on Tactician and just got into Act 2. I like the concept from some of your vids and looking to apply to my game play, but be interesting to hear how the builds may differ between different difficulty modes.
Hi, this build can replace the Druid build right? So have three mages to deal and suport the team. (stormchaser, elusive enchancer and tidalist). Should replace the stormchaser for something more supportive ?
Now I want to try to play 4 undead summoner build LOL.. Imagine having 4 poison incarnate and 4-8 poison totem... Has 8 dps and 9 healer at the same time
Sweet another New build! Awesome. Have you ever played around with some of the fan made classes? Some of them are pretty cool. Would be fun to se Wha you could do with some of those.
Something I have wondered with all these builds do you just start a brand new game for every build you have or do you have some save points and use the respec and some mods or cheats to pick the specific skills you want to try with a build. I love this game but I don't know if I would want to start from the beginning as many times as you may have to try out new builds. Starting at Driftwood or somewhere around level 7 or 8 I could see myself doing to play with a new build type.
Hello, is fane good for a first playthrough because ive heard conflicting answers some say hes the best and some say fane go's straight into main quest, making him a shorter playthrough than say the red prince.
My fighter is still wearing the Captain's clothes. Any enemy without magic armor that moves near him is automatically charmed (and end their turn immediately). I finally pulled through that fight when several of her wolves became charmed and did massive damage to her.
I'm reluctant to put 10 points on Summoning just to get this since combat skill points are hard to come by. And 21 Wits may not be enough to let you start first in combat since I've seen plenty of enemies with 21 Wits or above. Even when I have 21 Wits or same Wits as my enemies, sometimes they will still start first.
I've been playing with this build exactly as you've described it, but I noticed that enemies aren't fixated on him. Most of the time they barely attack him. I don't know why. Am I doing something wrong?
I am having problems. I'm level 7 still on the island outside of Fort Joy. Followed the build to the letter, have Glass Cannon, but enemies are avoiding me, not being drawn to me. Any help?
I’m thinking of doing this duo lone wolf with a undead dwarf duelist. But I was thinking to add this guy with leadership to help with the dodging. What are your thoughts? Should I focus leadership mid game after I get my main attributes?
What happens if I boost Intelligence instead of Constitution? Why not let the Incarnates tank all the damage and use the magic to annihilatе enemies from afar?
The whole idea of this build is for your CHARACTER to have the Glass Cannon talent, which prompts every enemy and their dog to focus fire them. The incarnate doesn't have any comparable abilities that generate 'threat'
You're on a good way. Now dump summoning and level a bit necro and mainly warfare and you get the better part of the tank. The cannon that kills enemys fast enough thus minimizing the damage you take.
Wouldn't 2 points in aero also be realy useful? Being able to bring 1 other enemie inside the range of your minion. Am also thinking what else would work well with it. Cuz you are gonna face a decent amount of undeads and other enemies with good poison/eartg resistance
I want to try this build out so much, but I didn't know where to put Pet Pal or Thievery. It's my first time playing this game, and I kinda want those two to open up possibilities for me as early as possible, but that would probably mean that I'd have to skip out on things that would actually help me survive in battle directly.
Warfare wil support you with more movement skills, more debuffs, and physical damage at every level. It's excellent. Can also spot a couple points into polymorph to get another invisibility skill, chicken claw, and tentacle arm.
After playing some time with it... Yeah, the idea is interesting, but that's not how my fights are going. My party is Fane Undeath Incarnate (the whole point of that game), Beast Dualist (I wanted something melee physical that is not Ethernal warrior), Lohse Stormchaser (thanks to the amulet, my Fane can't be stunned) and Sebille Magic Archer (who deals most of the damage). So, either enemies are grouped up and all are stunned by chain lightning and Fane has nothing to do besides spawning totems and giving occasional buffs, or they are not and give no fuck to him, attacking other party members, so usually he has the most of health/armor at the end of a fight. Point is, while the idea of Glass Cannon character provoking enemies is interesting, it does not quite work. As far as I can see, Undeath Incarnate is not a much better tank than Juggernaut. Even more, why you need a tank at all if with the right tactic enemies won't get out of CC? Maybe it's because I'm just at the start of Act 2, but as far as I know, stats grow exponentially further thought the game, so it would be even easier to just stun and kill enemies instead of tanking their attacks.
If you give the glass cannon character any status immunities at all then the ai will seem them less “attractive” when selecting targets. And the glass cannon also needs to be in a position that the enemies would even want to attack him. They will not attack him if you have a melee character in their face while he is at range unless they have ranged skills. And if they do they will likely shoot him with a knockdown arrow and be done with him for the turn. Most people having issues with using glass cannon for aggro are having them because they are not being logical with its use. Glass cannon makes the character more likely to be attacked but it does not cause the ai to become irrationally provoked by their existence. You need to make that character worth hitting or they won’t bother.
Oh wait the warfare points are already there for deflective barrier so I should have no trouble taking provoke. My enemies are still bypassing the undead tank a lot of the time for whatever reason :/
Lonewolf is divinitys true easy mode, if you both have a lw character you can run everything and do fine, even on tactician. You will however start to notice that you will get completely carried by your girlfriends character, since ranger is probably the second strongest build this game has to offer while your build, well its a fextralife build, they are really not good. Thematically fun, but not good in any way. A lw ranger kills the important enemies fast enough that you dont need to concern yourself with tanking, which is generaly doesn't work to well in this game. But i can safly say that you would be able to beat tactician with these two builds.
I really hate the WIT stat, all my champs wind up having only two stats pumped toward the end of the game. Their main stat and wits. Min/Maxing is so unsatisfying.
You're right but I guess in this case it's more important to heal with these skills some debuffs and ignore the damage. A little bit damage is better if you can attack in your next round I guess. :D
Puff I dumped everything into geo, pyro so I get crazy heals and damage to poison, lots of fire damage and a little hydro for frost armor and necro for bone cage and worst case I carry dead fog with me
Hello! First of all thank you for making more guides, I love them! I wanted to know if this build is viable in a 2 man run with lone wolf. I don't know if using the Glass Cannnon makes the AI attack you, but I'm trying it with a friend in a 2 man run with lone wolf and all the units just ignore me most of the time. Also how do you make living armour work, what do you use to heal? Only doing poison with contaminate? Thank you!
I've been looking everywhere and I can't seem to find anyone making a guide for pure summoner build, as in just all points into summoning pet build. It's always mixed with something else. Does anyone have any guide for making a pure summoner pet build?
If the only thing you’re putting points in is a single thing, you don’t need a guide. You’re only gonna have access to those spells. You just need to watch his “best skills for any class video” and choose which ones you wanna go with outside summoning. Not really much to guide you towards.
SO...question I have is what are some of the best builds/comps you have in store for those who WANT to use the original characters over making a custom one?
I would advise putting a point into hydrosophist to get access to the rain spell to create poison with contamination, and I'd advise getting the torturer talent to inflict bloat loads of poison on enemies.
The assumption, that glass cannon makes enemies attack you seems to be false? Tried this as my very first build and will restart the game tomorrow, because it doesn't work at All. I wonder if this Got patched or this guide Was an April fools lol
Umm......no. It didn’t get patched, it’s not a joke, and it’s not false. If your glass cannon character isn’t getting targeted by enemies than it means your positioning or armor values on the other party members was deemed as more vulnerable by the ai. The ai will prioritize the characters it feels will give it the best chance of landing meaningful hits on. So if the glass cannon character is in a spot where it would be harder to hit them or make them be in a bad spot next turn they won’t go for him. If all the characters are in decent spots and their gear is relatively on level the ai will gun down the glass cannon since he can be cc’d instantly. Also if he glass cannon is in harmful terrain and the enemy is melee they will ignore him to prevent getting hurt.
Looks a good build, but not so much end game, i dont want to spoil anything, but................................ almost every enemy end game ( last fight ) has 200% poison, which makes this build and other poison builds almost redundant end game.
Imo it works better. You lose dome of protection but time warp lets you blow every single move on turn one since you get two turns back to back. Meaning that if you go first you will have around 10 ap including adrenaline with most of your skills being 1 ap cost. Since it’s only a 1 sp move you don’t even need to worry about constantly refilling between fights since it’s once per fight anyway.
*Dude, you guys need to carry fortify, clear minded and magic shell scrolls around to keep your guys from getting crowd controlled.* Don’t know how to build them? Get their recipes online!!
I had my characters dip a point into Geomancy and Hydrosophist so that at least 3 members have Fortify, Armor of Frost, and Restoration. It really helps ease the load when anyone can cast, especially when someone else has it on cooldown. And I don't have to keep getting materials for scrolls.
@@stevenseufert2520 Enemies don’t crit as much outside of the hardest difficulty. But boy do they hit hard and can drop your team super fast. Enemies can crit so often they can out-damage the amount of armor you restore, and since abilities would be on cool down, that could be a CC’d or dead character without scrolls. Getting the ingredients can be annoying...

Maybe it's because I'm just at the start of Act 2, but as far as I know, stats grow exponentially further thought the game, so it would be even easier to just stun and kill enemies instead of tanking their attacks.
This is my exact experience with the build, my Fane Undeath Incarnate is getting attacked the least, but when he does get attacked he's insta-cc'd
You need to make that character worth hitting or they won’t bother.
the builds of battlemage is startet with the class battlemage or mage?
Enemies still go for my other characters on the regular though, even with glass cannon. Should I invest in 2 warfare to get taunt or something?
Oh wait the warfare points are already there for deflective barrier so I should have no trouble taking provoke. My enemies are still bypassing the undead tank a lot of the time for whatever reason :/
yeah i noticed this too. It's better to have 2 member party instead.
Could you replace glass cannon with lone star instead?
How do you have your item and armor looking like that?
So can I do this with lone wolf and girlfriend is playing ranger? Is there a way to make lone wolf work?
I wonder, if making undead elf just for sale of eating body's parts and "free learning" skills is viable or even good
@14:18 if the tank is undead won't First Aid hurt it more than it's worth the remove the cc?
You're right but I guess in this case it's more important to heal with these skills some debuffs and ignore the damage. A little bit damage is better if you can attack in your next round I guess. :D
Puff I dumped everything into geo, pyro so I get crazy heals and damage to poison, lots of fire damage and a little hydro for frost armor and necro for bone cage and worst case I carry dead fog with me
Have you tried making a Necro-Summoner Build?
Thank you!
Would this be viable in lone wolf?
I've been looking everywhere and I can't seem to find anyone making a guide for pure summoner build, as in just all points into summoning pet build. It's always mixed with something else. Does anyone have any guide for making a pure summoner pet build?
If the only thing you’re putting points in is a single thing, you don’t need a guide. You’re only gonna have access to those spells. You just need to watch his “best skills for any class video” and choose which ones you wanna go with outside summoning. Not really much to guide you towards.
Best RPG of all time.
This build is for fane?
don't really get why undead dwarf and not just dwarf, i'd expect a undead to be less tanky
Does CC mean Critical Chance? I can't figure it out otherwise.
Crowd control
SO...question I have is what are some of the best builds/comps you have in store for those who WANT to use the original characters over making a custom one?
Not very optimal, but pretty fun and interesting looking build
If it's capable of beating the game with, it's optimal.
@@Aliothale any build can beat the game
Alio you’re confusing viable with optimal.
when are you going to update your old builds
I would advise putting a point into hydrosophist to get access to the rain spell to create poison with contamination, and I'd advise getting the torturer talent to inflict bloat loads of poison on enemies.
every time I check a new vid, it says it's the last ever build, it's like my 3rd time now
The assumption, that glass cannon makes enemies attack you seems to be false?
Also if he glass cannon is in harmful terrain and the enemy is melee they will ignore him to prevent getting hurt.
how is it without equipment? 2:48 and 4:20
0:14 rapidfire on!
couldn't u use a wand in ur main hand as well
Can you please do a showcase for this buil
Looks a good build, but not so much end game, i dont want to spoil anything, but................................
almost every enemy end game ( last fight ) has 200% poison, which makes this build and other poison builds almost redundant end game.
Can you do this with fane?
How do you respec the rest of the party during act 1?
Gift Bag mod.
Does this build work with Fane?
Imo it works better. You lose dome of protection but time warp lets you blow every single move on turn one since you get two turns back to back. Meaning that if you go first you will have around 10 ap including adrenaline with most of your skills being 1 ap cost. Since it’s only a 1 sp move you don’t even need to worry about constantly refilling between fights since it’s once per fight anyway.
lvl 10+ put all point on summon?
What about retribution? Instead maxing geomancer
you could do that, but the reason for Geo is because it increases the amount of Physical Armour you gain from buffs.
