Hope you guys enjoy the new video! If you have any other questions on shooting museums, don't hesitate to leave em in the comments. I'll try my best to respond and I'm sure other viewers will chime in with great advice, too.
Josh, thanks for the info. I have kit lens 55 & 85. For big museums, is telephoto too much?

Nicely done. Great tips and the video itself as well paced. I was seeking some new techniques to enhance my photography inside museums-and you more than delivered.
Truly appreciate that excellent content.
Omg this cinematography is insane
You are really inspirational. Thank you so much! (From France)
Visited the MET yesterday and wondering how to take pictures in a museum. Searched on youtube and found this... a pro photographer teaches you how to shoot in that museum. I am happy haha
Well said and excellent tips on how to optimize what's available to us at museums!
Josh! Fell off of ur videos a bit after starting work full time. Always stayed subbed tho! Loved this video an actually learned a bit.

josh loves saying "neutral density filter"
You got me.
Outstanding tips. I'm off to the Kimball to take some great photos and get "cultured".
Let that culture seep into your brain haha. Enjoy the trip!
@@joshkatz This is weird cause I volunteer and work at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, in Dallas. Never occurred to me to cruise around the building and photograph it they way you did The Met. The PMNS is an award winning (designed) building. Check it out on the PMNS website.
Great video
could you pl. let me know what settings should be used to get natural color of paintings in musum in manual mode? I am getting the photos in reddish color and not natural color
What focal length do you recommend?
Depends what you're shooting! I shot most of this with my 16-35mm because it's f2.8, which is great for low light shooting, and I knew I'd be shooting a lot of wide shots.
You didn't monetize this video? Or this particular museum allows money to be made off of their gallery?
Almost every museum has rule against commercial photography. While it's a little ambiguous where a monetized UA-cam video stands, I figured I'd play it self and honor their policy.
Josh Katz thanks for the reply. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your videos and tips.
How about just enjoy the art and leave your camera at home
