I've been watching and learning from D Norts for a long time and I gotta say I like what your doing lately
Very interesting. I’d like to see more videos about product photography. Thank you!
Thanks Daniel! i always appreciate your vids and also enjoy the ones you do with Marissa & Seth as well! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 🫵🏼💕
Great video Daniel Norton! With digital photography is so much easier as one sees the result right away, I remember in a photo class I took in the 90's one of the images we needed to turn in was a black on black. Many years after I finally understood that many times is how the item one is photographing reflects the light source what helps giving shape and definition more so than the output of the light. Thank you Sir for all the great content you make in your great channel!
very illuminating
New subscriber to your channel, Daniel and I just wanted to thank you for your awesome content 🙏🏻
Love and respect from Dublin. Ireland 💚
This is oddly well-timed for me. Thank you for producing and posting this video. :)
Awesome
Thanks for this video Daniel. Can you did the retouch.
it's brilliant! thx!
Hey Daniel, I am a lover of your work and watch all most all of your videos, I have miss seeing some 20-45 mins vids#1 Hope they come out soon xx
I’ve got to get Marisa back for some mentoring
Super useful, it's Iike you have a 6th sense or something. Recently I couldn't lure any friends to come and help me with practicing portrait lighting, so I started to shoot objects at home. I enjoy shooting small things with speedlights and snoots, and grids on reflectors. I'd gladly watch more settings like this ✌And generally, I wanna say a big thank you for all this educational work you do!
Tank you,
Nice video Daniel! Really easy to follow step by step. Do you ever shoot with a tilt-shift lens for products and if yes, then when?
I have used them for jewelry shots mostly.
Any suggestions for photographing a green pepper?
Can you make it with a white sculpture?
I actually thought you would use the soft box for the key light & the spot light to create a rim light... hmmmmm
I think I had a eureka moment while watching this video. There are so many techniques to achieve comparable results. Thanks Danny Boy. 😎🥸
Good one 👍👍
Thank You!
Have you done a white on white tutorial/tips?
I've had a client ask to photograph a white product on white background. I asked if it was okay to have a slightly grey background so that there would be some separation but they wanted pure white background as it was going to be used in a brochure with a white background.
Где Марисса?)
Большое спасибо за это и за другие ваши видео.
Hi Daniel.... where can we see some of your work other than the Adorama videos?
I'm interested in your 'bread and butter' work.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for another very cool video. 👍
Something is bothering me: how is the background lit?
The softbox is directed toward the sculpture and from your test shots the front light doesn't reach the background.
My humble guess is the background is lit from all the white walls bouncing the softbox light.
Unless the softbox is leaking light from behind?
Am I totally wrong?
could just be from the wall (background) being white and some of it got picked up naturally. In other words, the shutter wasn't fast enough to make the wall completely black. Just my guess though
Daniel, I notice you positioned the stature close to the back edge of the table. Is there a rule about where to position the back edge of the table relative to the vertical of an object with respect to the final photo? I assume it’s personal preference ?
No fixed rule, but I tend to try and get about 2/3 background to foreground ratio
If I will use bigger softbox and mask out an extra area with black paper, I will get smaller softbox, right?
Yes
