Rick just put the ping in your bag and im sure it will help your game, im a high handicap player and its helped me dramatically. For the average person price could be an issue but i dont think u need to worry about that. Great video as always
I think he could stand to lose 20 yards distance in favour of accuracy. Everyone could. You all want the hero shot 300+ yard drive but in reality what you need is the middle of the fairway everytime. Nelly don't lie.
Hey Rick, loved the review, long time follower. Just one comment. It would be really nice to see a consistent mid handicapper hit those drivers along with you or just show their numbers. I am around a 12 and I’m 55 so even though i love the reviews they are just fun to watch but when i have gone and tried those drivers myself the results are always totally different because you are so much better with more swing speed, ball height etc etc. keep up the good work.
I'd say for clubs aimed at the lower level golfers (like these) really a low level golfer should hit them. You know; slow inconsistent swings & bad hits. Actually it'd be also good to see the face hit dispersion with the result dispersion. At this level Rick is hitting it - I think even at mid-handicap level - the hit location dispersion can be pretty good for 10 or so shots on occasion.
I play all Tour Edge clubs (except my Lob wedge) and have been very satisfied. I hit the C722 Driver and find it to minimize the dispersion and spin rates seen in the E722. You might have found that in the test if you used the C725. Also, different shafts could impact results. Given everything, no need to pay outrageous prices for name brand - for most average players it makes no significant difference. Nothing against big brands as good products-just that the value isn’t necessarily there. Nonetheless, good video.
I own the Ping and what impresses me the most is I can hit an awful drive off the toe and think its going to end up way out of bounds, but it will end up 270 yds in the fairway. The forgiveness off the toe is insane.
I had a Stealth 2 and was fitted recently for the Ping 10k Max. It just came and i played my first round with it yesterday (with ZERO range time - literally pulled the stickers off the driver on the 1st tee). My average drive for the day was 28 yards further than my average for the year with the Stealth 2. 8 of the 11 were over 255 yards, including my 3 longest drives of the year at 310, 296, and 295. Coming from an average of 241 this is a game changer. Broke my PB for the course by 4 strokes (75, previously 79). I also felt like I i couldn't slice if i wanted to. I have the 10.5 degree, stiff flex, turned down to 9 degrees. The flight is perfectly straight or a slight draw every time. I always hit a high push-fade before and now I'm im hitting penetrating straight / draws that just look ridiculously good in flight. Highly recommend this club, but GET FIT!!
Did you test it in 9 vs 10.5 turned down to 9 and find you liked the 10.5 turned down better than the plain 9? Always curious how the 2 options compare
@jallen622 yes, this worked better for me. Something to do with the way it manipulates the face open/closed. This setup looked and felt much better for me. I also took half an inch off the length (I'm 5'11").
G430 max owner here... This club is insanely forgiving. Ive nearly missed the face off the toe and its still going to be out there. Its the best. Plus you can still hit low spinning bombs if you're confident enough.
@@markstone5593 My golf buddy has the 10k and I find that its feels slightly different but ultimately didnt perform much better for me. Could be down to the shaft but its still a great driver. But the stock 430max with a stiff shaft has been a legitimate boost to my game
Rick! Do a video against the Ping G400 max and the new stuff! Most wanted driver for ping ever and supposedly they already hit 10k with that model! I still game it and love it!!! Show the people that 5-6 year old tech can still compete.
Loving the content from the h.i.t channel. Really liked the old videos you used to make going through the years of drivers from each brand 2012-2017. Are you planning on making any new video along those lines as the 2nd hand market is huge for the majority of golfers. Love to see a new iteration of those videos 👍🏌
I picked up a secondhand c722 because I wanted to take the ventus out of it and put it in my ping g425. Then i took it to the range before making the switch. Tour Edge never left the bag after. Wildly impressed.
Nice wrap-up Rick. It's good to see that, while somewhat 'same-o-same-o' (as you'd expect) the differences are enough to make the choice simple, depending on what one is looking for.
The one thing Rick, you forgot to mention, is that the Tour Edge E725 has the moveable back weight on the head, where the others are non-adjustable. The E725 you can adjust the weight for fade or draw setting, that is a real bonus especially for the price. So it is a more versatile driver. I can’t believe you forgot to mention that lol.
Just a note there: I've just bought a new Ping 430 max (got it on sale pretty cheap) - it has got the fade/draw adjustment weight at the back. And of course the face angle is adjustable, too.
I tried both the Qi10 Max and the Ping G430 Max. I ended up loving the Qi10, the looks, sound and feel are amazing and I'm hitting the best drives I've ever done!
Great video Rick! Would love to see you break down a broad range of drivers and pick the most suitable driver for your current game. This is always a question we common folk struggle with, but none of us have a golf store room like you do! :)
The title of this video is “forgiveness test” so surely the winner is the one with smallest dispersion! Additionally, most of us the are looking for forgiveness due to the fact we do not hit it bang on the sweet spot each time so the test should include bad hits. I know Rick mentions off centre shots but I’m sure he is better than many of us. I could help with poorer shots😂. A good video and helpful.
The Ping had the tighter distance dispersion (what the Pros care about) but the Qi10 had the tighter lateral dispersion (what hadicappers care about). So which one won?
Adams A4 driver (2009 model) after caving her face in, I never found the same love again with any other and I've tried them all.. until Ping G430 max come into my life. Takes a little getting used to (different look at address) but once you do IMO has got to be the best all round driver to date. 5hcp player 108-110mph. G430 Max 2.0 stiff shaft 😍
I own the qi10 max which i was fitted for.took me a little while to get used to it after my previous driver but I find it it very forgiving and very accurate which is a big plus.
Rick, Thanks for doing this head to head. After watching your recent review I was really curious to see how the Tour Edge would perform against the 10K max and Qi10 Max. Interested to see what the next iterations of this 10k fad will be.
Studio testing is great for feel, sound and pure numbers but how about taking them out on the course. Which one finds the fairway the most? How do they perform in different conditions? Just as important as the numbers if not more so.
Thanks pete... what advice do you have regarding 'fitting'. I am concerned I could get sold something which is not actually the best option fro me but the best sell for the retailer. Thoughts??
Just an observation but wouldn’t the comparison be more accurate if you used the same shaft for all heads? I believe Mr. Finch uses the same shaft for all his reviews. We know the shaft plays a big role in the dispersion. But that said, using the stock shaft at the desired stiffness and stock settings would give the layman golfer more of an idea of the performance. Thanks Rick for your great reviews. Keep them coming.
I will say i'm a slower swing speed that needed more carry/distance w/o giving up forgiveness. The fitting was G430 10x max by a mile. It was 25 yards longer than the QI10 Max which I was hoping would be the club (i love the looks). I never in my life thought i'd be a ping guy but the stats were far too good for me.
@@zazhou My drive went from 190 carry/210-215 total to 230 carry 245-250 total. And I am 39 but roll with a simple grandpa swing. Driver speed is about 88-90mph. I make good simple connection with a Rahm style backswing. I call it the Gramps. Keeps the ball dead middle with a baby cut.
Great comparison. I wish you would have shown average face strike position and how that affected the shot. Now I'd like to see a 10K vs non-10K to see how much of a difference the 10K makes.
Kinda funny, I just went through a driver fitting today. Ping G430 Max, Cobra, Titlist GT2, Calloway Ai Smoke, and TM Qi10 Max. It was between the TM and the GT2 for me, with the Ping close. The TM Qi10 just gave me the best mis-hits, and sounded good, felt good to me.

I think the Ping 430 10k is the beginning of a journey. I'm still waiting for the 2025 models where, probably, there will be those little adjustments to make it even more perfect. In the end, I think the G425, despite an unpleasant sound, is still the benchmark among the latest generation drivers. Great forgiveness, more than satisfactory distance. I tried and used the TM and the 430 10k, but, in the end, I kept my G425
Rick was better of the tee back when playing his old Ping. No idea why he doesn't put the new one in the bag. Such a good club. And way lower spin then the competition.
Rick you should really consider doing this same test with the C725. It doesn't claim to be a "10k" driver but is the more PLAYERS driver in their line up. I do believe you would get on better with the C725 truly

On the other hand, most players cannot afford a custom/upgrade/upcharge shaft, let along afford the driver itself. Your point is fair - but I bet most players getting a fitting this winter are going to be hitting the stock shaft for each driver they try
Peter Finch does. He has a bunch of Ventus Black shafts for all manufacturers. Not sure if he still utilizes them outside of the beginning of the year testing. But fully agree that a fairer comparison should be with the same shaft across the board, let the head make the difference.
@@chadode9048Then just run a Hzrdus in all three. That shaft is a no-upcharge for most manufacturers. But you can still do a proper test with the same shaft regardless of it being up charge or not.

After your long stint in the bag with the G425. And your review of the G430s when they dropped I am curious why you didn’t put one of those in the bag Driver was never an issue for you until switched to the dark speed and recent video using the 10k max g430.
Ive played LS drivers for 5+ years, cobra ltdx ls for the last few. Picked up 10k max for a steal and its every bit as long if not longer than ltdx ls. What i don't get are spinny balls or knuckle balls. Ive made some poor swings only to see the ball in the fairway, i actually feel the need to apologize for hitting a FW i didnt deserve
I can't help but notice that you didn't use the same shaft in all of the drivers. In a head to head, wouldn't it be best to use the same shaft? You have the means and opportunity to make it happen. Love the content, keep it up
Had a similar thought. Qi10 was fastest ball speed but had the highest spin. No surprise the lowest spin rate went farthest. Getting them better fit for his swing would be a fairer comp.
I have a Ping and a Tour Edge driver. I find the Tour Edge hits further and is constant. When you hit it out of the middle, nothing comes close to the Tour Edge for distance.
The shaft means as much if not more than the club head. The stock shafts aren't necessarily for everyone. Doesn't mean you have to upgrade to a $350 shaft, but different weights, flex, kick point, stiffness, etc. Do one of these drivers with different shafts and compare your results and thoughts.
I put the 430 10k max in the bag 3 months ago and its crazy stupid how much more distance and accuracy I got out of this thing. I am an 8 HC, 50 years old and went from 250 average to 275 and I am hitting way more fairways. Funny thing I will mention, 1 week ago I put a ventus blue close to the same specs as the stock Alta 55S and I don't hit it nearly as far or as straight. So is it the Alta shaft that deserves more credit than the head itself? Time will tell I guess, I'm going to give the ventus some more time.
The Tour Edge’s big claim is its adjustability. If you wanted the face more open, I’m sure you could tweak the hosel settings to get the club how you want it.
I tried the ping. The ball was just falling out of the sky for me. I went with the qi10max bc of the spin. Wayyyy more. Kept my ball in the air longer. Driver speed is about 92-95 mph btw
The face my my Qi10 driver caved in after a few months. At least I was able to return it. If I didn't have my receipt, would have had to accept a replacement which I didn't want.
Watched a lot of your recent rounds and some amazing videos from Solina. I did notice that lots of the shots with driver out on course you were not happy with the big slice/fade and but in this review it seems as though you favoured your traditional draw, and looked like you are much more comfortable and confident hitting that shot shape so I wonder if out on course you should default back to a draw to help with confidence. I’m no expert but just and observation 😊
I thinking you missed the boat by forgetting a few other manufacturers. PXG for one can be set up for 10K+ if you wish. it's Ok to have a competition between these 3 manufactures but if you are looking for the "Ultimate" forgiving club there are many others that should have been included.
Rick any chance of 9 holes at the marriot with a full tour edge set up? Seen they have great new wedges out now that Bernard helped develop! Would love to see the tour edge driver on course!
Rick could you do a head to head comparison between the Ping g400 max and the Ping g430 10k. Ping g400 max even though 7 years old is 10k aswell. I have a feeling the g400 max will out perform the new one. Cheers mate.
Spin tells the story. Ping has the lowest spin, longest carry. TE C725 spin is 300 more spin, thus 3 yards shorter. TM Qi10 has 500 more spin, 7 yards shorter. TE distance variance is only 2 yards more than Ping, which is a yard shorter and longer. In the grand scheme of things, the TE is by far the best value. You can get a lower spinning shaft to reduce spin, make up the yards and still cost less than the Ping.
I've always wanted to see how a tour edge club went up against with high end brands. Thanks Rick

Driver was never an issue for you until switched to the dark speed and recent video using the 10k max g430.
Interesting the Bernard Langer had Tour Edge head covers in his bag but was using a Ping driver in your recent video!!
Nuff said.
I don't think the new TE drivers where out yet?
Ive played LS drivers for 5+ years, cobra ltdx ls for the last few. Picked up 10k max for a steal and its every bit as long if not longer than ltdx ls. What i don't get are spinny balls or knuckle balls.
Ive made some poor swings only to see the ball in the fairway, i actually feel the need to apologize for hitting a FW i didnt deserve
Curious what you AOA is on the Ping, I only hit slightly up and struggle to get over 2* up on it and my spin rate is a bit higher. 🤷♂️
Getting them better fit for his swing would be a fairer comp.
paused the video and checked the unblurred stats on the tv behind Rick lol couldnt wait any longer
I have a Ping and a Tour Edge driver. I find the Tour Edge hits further and is constant. When you hit it out of the middle, nothing comes close to the Tour Edge for distance.
Havnt tried the tour edge but I have the qi10 and ping g430 max and my driving ever has been this summer with my qi10 max
I been using the qi10 this year love it but in my fitting we changed the shaft to give it much lower spin
Which of these will still be functioning in a year, Ping for sure, TE ? and Qi possibly not based in previous quality problems
Would love to see you go back and do the 10 year challenge with the drivers. That was eye opening.
Tried all of these in my fitting except the tour edge and the GT2 was dominant in every category. Insanely forgiving and a missile launcher
Yeah it just depends on your swing.
Odd observation, but I re-watced a video from 8 years ago and you hit the TM M2 driver 339 yards on GC2. What's been the drop off in distance for you?
Try the new Sub 70 859 driver, would love to see how it compares
Hi Rick, you should have put also the GT2 in this test. IMHO the most forgiving driver of All...
Would really like to try the tour edge but unable to find any shops that carry them here in Canada ont.
The Tour Edge’s big claim is its adjustability. If you wanted the face more open, I’m sure you could tweak the hosel settings to get the club how you want it.
Hey Rick, have you done anything on Callaway Paradym Drivers vs other top brands?
Any chance you'd do a video with the most forgiving drivers over the past few years? Bring out the older ping, sim 2 max, etc?
I tried the ping. The ball was just falling out of the sky for me. I went with the qi10max bc of the spin. Wayyyy more. Kept my ball in the air longer. Driver speed is about 92-95 mph btw
The face my my Qi10 driver caved in after a few months. At least I was able to return it. If I didn't have my receipt, would have had to accept a replacement which I didn't want.
Did you try the Tour Edge C725?
I know its not 10K MOI but what about a dispersion test with the new Titleist GT drivers. So far I've seen some good results from the GT2 and GT3
£80 delivery for the Tour Edge, looked last week, I maybe wrong but its only sold online?
Just bought a brand new 10.5 Taylor Made SIM 2 Max, wow! What a game changer. Best investment I've made, apart from my Mizuno irons 😉
What happened to the Wilson dynapwr carbon?
Tour Edge, Batavia Illinois represent!
It’s easy hitting in a screen multiple times. Different kettle of fish on course. Hence why he’s so bad and erratic on course
A blind test would have been good on the feel and sound
Do tell us how you would conduct such a test
@@michaelarwas8466 a blind fold?
I hope Rick gets ahold of the Cleveland Hi Bore driver they just released. Really curious
I thinking you missed the boat by forgetting a few other manufacturers. PXG for one can be set up for 10K+ if you wish. it's Ok to have a competition between these 3 manufactures but if you are looking for the "Ultimate" forgiving club there are many others that should have been included.
What degree of loft are you hitting these at
Where can I buy a tour edge 725 in UK???
Can't find anywhere
Rick any chance of 9 holes at the marriot with a full tour edge set up? Seen they have great new wedges out now that Bernard helped develop! Would love to see the tour edge driver on course!
Rick could you do a head to head comparison between the Ping g400 max and the Ping g430 10k. Ping g400 max even though 7 years old is 10k aswell. I have a feeling the g400 max will out perform the new one. Cheers mate.
The G400 will definitely not outperform the G430.
@@peterhammer6915Lots of people say it does. I'd like to see Rick try it. Do you have any data to suggest it wouldn't?
Spin tells the story. Ping has the lowest spin, longest carry. TE C725 spin is 300 more spin, thus 3 yards shorter. TM Qi10 has 500 more spin, 7 yards shorter. TE distance variance is only 2 yards more than Ping, which is a yard shorter and longer. In the grand scheme of things, the TE is by far the best value. You can get a lower spinning shaft to reduce spin, make up the yards and still cost less than the Ping.
Put the Ping in the BAG!!! You have the luxury of being able to try all different shafts as well. Just do it! The cobra needs a break
Why do you not get fitted for a better upgraded shaft that might help you find fairways? ie like ventus, tpt etc, tenseii not a very good/ rated shaft
I’m intrigued to know how many times Rick has said intrigued in his last 10 videos if someone could work that out it would be very intriguing
I’d really consider the Taylormade because it looks like it delivered
Would love a review of the C725 if you can
The execs in the Ping boardroom must be bouncing off the walls in distress after seeing Rick disdainfully tossing their headcover to the ground! 🤣
Was this video recorded a year ago but just released today?
Own the 430 10k best driver I have ever owned.
Snagged the ping and have never been more impressed with a new club
Rick looking slimmer putting in the work🙌🏻
I played the ping10k most of my this year. Very nice driver. I switched to the triple diamond max which may not be 10k but very long and forgiving
Bring back the g400 to this competition please it was the first driver to pass 10k moi
