For Demons, the terminology is not what they use in the official English translation of the light novels. Beginning with Archdemons: 1. Archdemons-- get and maintain one's magicule capacity to the maximum. Demons have a set limit. 2. Demon Lord (meaning Demon Lord Seed or Factor or Class)-- maintain that maximum level for 2000 years without dying. Can now manifest Demon Lord Presence (this is Lord's Ambition). 3. Daemon Lord (aka Demon Peer) . A trigger is necessary. At least in Diablo's case his naming brought him here. He says there's not much difference between 2 and 3. ( Question: or maybe it's 1 and 3). 4. True Demon Lord (awakened Demon Lord, Devil Lord). It's the souls. This is Guy's level. Note: True strength depends on age.

WHEN he was summoned, he was an Arch, when he got a name, he evolved his own existence to a demon peer. Make no mistake, even though he was just an arch before, he never lost against others too, millions of archs tried to fight him, he demolished those, other Primordial tried to team up against him, he demolished them, same case with noir, but noir stayed an arch, so that he can find more interesting fights, if he got too strong, he feared of every fight to be boring. Anyway, when Guy named himself from the kingdom that he killed, he evolved to a demon Peer/Daemon Lord, then he took hundreds of thousands of those souls and evolved himself into a TDL(the LN never explained how he got thr DLS, maybe its from the kingdom itself being slaughtered by him that he aquared it. Dont know)when he became a TDL, he also evolved his own species to a Devil Lord/Demon God/Devil God

Some demon Lords that are just their for their status, can become a TDL, by surviving a Tenma War, cuz many souls will be available at the time. To become a Seed/Factor, you need many skills(Extra variant, dont rememberif its both common and extra, but ill just say extra and above for now) 70+ infact, unique as an option(might lower the requirements), thats it. Thats the only requirement to be a DLS, many Skills, and to become a TDL, u Need nourishment/Souls, tens of thousands of them. The 2000 yrs of maintaining the magicules are only for arch demons, if archs die, they lose some magicules, if they can maintain it without dying for 2000 yrs, they can gain the extra skill Demon Lord Haki(if j remember correctly)
