Just to throw it out there: the manga version of Megiddo was more brutal. In the manga, Rimuru wasn't just shooting to kill, he more often shot to maim in order to demoralize the soldiers. The manga even goes out of its way to show us the perspective of one of the "average Joe" conscripts who literally has the fear of god put into him as he's dying. Rimuru also let people run from the battlefield just to shot them while they were running. He was also actively refining his technique while using it, truing different intensities and such, just because he had the opportunity to do so.
Geld's shield is a scale from Charbydis. Something they cut that was shown in the manga.
Shogo's new unique skill survivor dose have "pain nullification".
Reason why he was still feeling pain was because geld's attack chaos eater dose spiritual damage too. Pain from spiritual damage are not nullified, only pain from physical damage is nullified.
The reason why razel killed shoga is because his spirit was already damaged beyond repairs. He become useless but his body wasn't. So razel destroyed whatever was left and take over the body. He also isn't lying about able to fight a demon lord( seed ) he just bad luck meeting rimuru who isn't your normal demon lord seed.
Moral of the story, don't fight Rimuru twice. If you fail to kill him, he will have analyzed all the skills you showed. He did the Humans what Hinata did to him. He put at least an anti Magic Barrier up and used water spirits to manipulate water droplets inside the barrier. Hinata had used spirits against him inside the barrier.
Since Rimuru understood the physical concept of lasers, the beams aren't magic, just sunlight focused to a pin point. Rimuru is possibly the only character who could pull that off due to the calculations required to refract the light. Great Sage was created for him so it is unique, and it did calculations.
As for the mask, there are other things to it, but for this, it's a representation of Rimiru's connection to his humanity. The glowing parts are cracks forming as it can't contain his power bit also shows him casting aside a part of his humanity.
Ok so Hakuro vs Kyoya: not sure if it was explained to you after the episode, but when Kyoya died, his skill was still active. So theoretically, a person's head is still alive for roughly 29 seconds after being lopped off. The skill being active stretched that time 300x so he technically experienced 2hrs of regretting his decisions while dying for 2 hours and 25 minutes.
Well, he would have been conscious a for roughly 29 seconds, but brain death would have taken longer, during which he could have experienced a collapsing dream state as his brain died. The manga also suggests that Hakuro put Kyoya under his own Thought Acceleration (which is why it didn't turn off), and Hakuro could extend it to 1000x. Plus, in the light novel, the cut isn't just a simple decapitation; he cuts from the neck through the chest and into the heart, so a diagonal cut from neck to below the armpit. So Kyoya would have experienced a world of pain for about 6-8 hours before losing consciousness then (possibly) being trapped in a dream for days as his mind slowly shut down and died.
So it wasn't very well explained in the anime, but the magic barrier didn't hurt the tempest fighters that much. It was Rimirus orders from season 1 not to kill humans that did. The barrier just made it so that they couldn't defeat them without killing them.
