she was amazing, so genuine and clever in the way she used body language and language to communicate :-)

Love the growth that this woman brings. She speaks and gems come out of her mouth.

My Great Aunt. She held me as an infant but we never met after that.

I love Satirs's optimism about a family's capacity for change, to become better at being parents for instance. But...in my experience, some people don't see the need to change themselves. Some people suffer from the I am Always Right Even When i am Wrong syndrome. If a forty year old guy is like that, and comes from a similar parental background himself then... pretty darned hard to change that dynamic. Unless the person has the intelligence to see that they have to change, to make progress. Sometimes this capacity might only appear briefly. I guess briefly is better than not at all. To the end of someones life they are VERY invested in their internal rules. that has been my experience of being parented.

@Originalnick : jets.. that there is a fountain inside.
This Woman is Lovely. Better expressed : lovliness reigns in this BRIGHT Woman. I never even heard of her til I stumbled on this today. Aloha You; Aloha Portugal. To my shame : I know NO Portuguese (sp?). Growing up I inferred that English was the only language I needed to handle, hence my laziness. Waking up NOW though. Aloha from 'UK' ! GH

Don't forget that feelings aren't always a true barometer of reality either. If one sees the world though a cloudy window it's easy to misjudge and conjure feelings out of illusion. Therefore seeing clearly must come first.

She's describing the "jets" of a fountain- the fountains that have multiple openings for water to come out. .
Oh. I just saw how long ago you posted your question. :D Maybe you'll see this.

Virginia Satir was a Clinical Social Worker!!! Not a psychologist. Her masters Degree was in Social Work.
