- This trip out, my son and I rafted from Devon Alberta down the North Saskatchewan River to our campsite...What should of been a 3-4 hr trip...turned out to be a 6 hr trip with all the stops... We found gold at every stop, some better than others.. Hope you enjoy!

LOL.. This was actually our 2nd day down the river...(So ya little boring for him on day 2)the first day just wanted to see how long it would take us...Water is super low right now...
You should come for a trip with Zac n I...you have that nice tent will keep you warm.

@@CanadianGoldProspector I got 2 nice tents the company seen me use their products so they upgraded me to a massive 5 man tent and medium stove. Isn’t the season pretty much over, I’m sure the there must be snow by now.

really enjoyed floating down the river with you, leave the young un alone, he followed the golden rule, be seen, not heard, loved the idea of marking the best spots , by a previous prospector, hope to have more journeys on the river with you. soon, i hope.....

I went last fall to smith, & tried the very same in the Athabasca river, got about the same result. Overall from what i found, i wouldn't bother going back, looking forward to trying the north sask this summer coming up.

I found a lot of gold every pan at prospector point down at the end on the outside bend. You can even get gold right out of the sand from all the high bankers blowing through gold.
Gold is everywhere on that river...people made a living off it.. it's stil out there.

That's some good looking area ... much like where I work on Washinton states part of the snake river and the Columbia river ... very fine gold ... It's there ... Finding those really rich paystreaks
can be a challenge ... I am finding most of mine in the ancient streambed that is above and sometimes up to a half a mile from the now existing river ... most of them around a quarter mile from the wet zone ... they can be very rich by modern standards 2-3 grams gold per 5 gallon bucket ... this stuff is very fine ( like yours ) down to 200-300 mesh

love the view only wish you could have got more gold but that's prospecting sometimes good sometimes not keep digging you'll find gold.🤗

i hope next year ill be able to get out and do some prospecting and build my own little plant to go and have fun. looking around the pembina river area towards drayton, lodgepole, and tomahawk area. anyone been out that way and found some interesting spots? looks like decent panning country to me.

All the gold sitting on the bedrock..not in the mud....disappointing panning first 10 minutes... have hit the like button, In the 1980's knew a pizza delivery guy,panning that river in the middle of Edmonton under a bridge.Always there on the weekends and after work.
He was getting 1/2 oz of flakes a week,Would pan 20 weeks/collect pogie and then spend his winters in Mexico.

There is more than just dust in that river though. I found a nice coarse peice down near Two Hills, it's in my shorts on my channel.

Easy money 😆 my brother and I panned for the whole summer every few weeks for 3 to 6 hours and pulled maybe a 1$ of gold out so far.

those numbered rocks have been there since the early summer. wasn't me but Idid clean a little outta the beach downstream of it.

You need a floating dredge to get enough North North Sask flour gold to make it financially worth it. Dredges would not be legal these days as it causes significant issues with fish. Edmonton had several gold dredges operating in it's history
Nice i dont even actually know that there is Gold here in canada and why people still working in factories to earn just little money rather than finding gold so that its easy money
