Been hammering schoolies in the upper bay, pure chaos. Some guys said they saw lice but I personally haven't caught a migratory fish yet. One things I've done that I feel has been a huge improvement for my enjoyment on the water, was swapping out all the treble hooks on my plugs with inline single trailer hooks. I haven't had a single issue with hooks since doing that after I caught one in the hand.
Nice man! I’m willing to bet some of those were migratory seems like we are getting the first wave of fresh bass. And yea definitely want to start swapping out all my trebles they are a pain in the ass to deal with
@johnny, you’re close enough to make a trip to the Cape Code canal right? Thatd be interesting to see you hook into some monsters in the current there.
Yea I’ve fished the canal a handful of times with varying degrees of success lol. I think I’ll plan a trip for this season it’s not too far of a drive for me
I recently just started watching your videos and fell in love with fishing. where would you recommend for a person to fish as a beginner by the shore in rhode island
That ending could of been really bad, I glad your ok and I agree, I feel having two tremble hooks is just to dangerous, I’ve considered just putting a single hook on the back, especially after ending up in the ER last year after catching a huge Bluefish and battling getting the hook out,Jonny any recommendations on a single replacement hook??🤷
Great video. I was using a whole live mackerel this one day when I was after a 40 plus inch striper but I hooked a great white shark instead while fishing fom my kayak. Part of my video was used on the Discovery Channel episode called The Great White North. Toss me a subscription if you like, I only need a couple more to get 1000 :) Cheers
Another sick video. Great work Johnny will definitely have to come back to RI soon! That top water blowup was money!
Thanks man give me a shout if you’re back in RI!
I've had my Okuma Cedros CSX for about 10 years. I friggin love that rod.
Dude they are awesome surf rods they are my go to
NICE beautiful ones 🤟🐟🐟🐟
Would you mind giving directions to Boston to any fish you happen to see? Thanks for the video.
I'll try sending them your way lol
😂😂😂
Very fun stuff..
Thanks for watching man!

Would you say you’re at the same hookup ratio with the inlines as you had with trebles? Any negative diffidence worth mentioning?
great video
definetly a good plan... could also add a much larger single hook on a big split ring too. thanks for sharing dude. stay safe.
Yea honestly I really should swap out my trebles for singles… rainy day project. As always thanks for watching Tim!
@@Fish-RI test in a pool or a shallow spot, some plugs swim different with different size / kind of hooks.

Yea treble hooks are nasty… I really should get most of them swapped out. I like the VMC in-line single hooks they are solid
Is this ocean road?
What’s your pb bass for 2023 Mr.Jonny?
Currently a schoolie lol, been doing mainly tog trips though I have some more striper outings coming up
@@Fish-RI have fun & let me know when It happens! My first one ever was 42.5 inches !! & tight lines love the channel 💪🏽

Rust or blood stains on that lure? Your videos are always enjoyable to watch.
