Would you ride your electric mountain bike to work?
I have to, so yes, daily
Electric Mountain Bike Network yes I got a haibike ndoro pro
I'm currently looking into alternative transport to work and an ebike is top of my list, but the one thing that worry's me is how will the bike stand up to the elements while in the bike rack outside
@@smudgasmith1 I can put my bike inside at work, i think that should be possible at most places
I commute daily on my Turbo Levo. The building security guys let me park it in a stairwell inside the building. Then I hit a nearby trail network during my lunch break.
The bike will be the same time every day. And loads cheaper. And more fun. And, as you mentioned, you arrive at work energised.
More so if you just use a regular bike too.
Only bad thing is the weather
Yeah will be tons of fun in piss pouring rain 🌧 🙂
Not only would you save on the cost of running the car, but a) save on time (if you drove you would want to find extra time for keeping fit); and b) possibly save the cost of a gym membership; and c) save on emissions and help save the planet :-)
Most people don’t wanna keep fit and never use gym.
@@KandiKlover tru
Are you going to gym just for cardio? seriously?
I live and work in Birmingham, my average time in the car to cover the 9 mile commute is 55 minutes, however on my E-bike (chipped of course) I can do the commute as fast as 32 minutes. I agree I feel far fresher when I get to work and again its another car off the road.
My god, 55 minutes for 9 miles? That NYC stuff right there
When you say chipped do you mean you've modified it so the motor assist you at higher speeds? I didn't know you could do that 🤔
I love how you showed the commute to work from both perspectives. It usually takes me 30 mins to go 6.7 miles to work on a regular mountain bike (quicker with Giant LaFree e-bike).
What about adding the time for getting ready? Having a shower and changing into work clothes when arriving at work? All that can potentially add another 30 mins onto the trip? I'd love to commute on my ebike, but the time all adds up. But the ebike is obviously better, cheaper, just not quicker.
Limited car to 155mph.. When limit is 70mph..
Now if you had a derestricted ebike... ;)
See what I did there..
PS lucky boy Chris that's a nice journey to work.
For commute the ebike should go mostly throttle only at 25-35Km/h when not at sidewalks.
If you are in a suburb and commuting into a town or city centre in rush hour I'd bet that the e-bike will be the fastest mode of transport. Certainly is where I live. Car 25-35 mins, Bus 30-35 mins (40 - 45mins on a bad day), e-bike 22 mins. A lot more pleasant on the bike (mostly side roads or cycle lanes) plus fitness/wellbeing & environment benefits.
You've obviously never heard of a motor scooter - the ultimate commuting weapon.
I've been riding the e-bike to work since April ... on the way home I'm testing new trails.
In Germany there is the one big problem, especially in a city center: you need a couple of airbags around your body while riding a bike. It's pretty risky to do so. Sad to say :(
That is, hands down, the most frustrating thing. Biking is such a joy, but it's just so scary when you have to bike in a city that doesn't have proper separation. For my commute, I can hopefully take a longer road around the town, nearing the lake, and have a safer and more enjoyable ride.
Fun riding a bike versus frustration driving a car ......... Priceless! I recently started commuting most days on an ebike. I say most days because I am a fair-weather rider. I am 68 years old!
I used to commute on my MTB to work and I loved it, only downside is the sweat but just bring extra clothes and you are good. Now I ride a 125cc scooter and it saves me a lot of time, that I use to actually go to the woods and MTB my way into happiness.
So to conclude, Bikes, E-bikes are a way cheaper, easier, environmentally friendly way to commute aaand the make you happier and healthier so, to me, it is a no brainer. Leave the cars for people that cannot ride bikes. Happy trails:).
Same ;) I using 125cc scooter as a daily commuter and daily shopping, car usually for bigger shopping and long distance travel.
And my bicycle (not a ebike) at least twice a week (depends on weather) for joy trail rides.
If prices will be more reasonable for e-bikes i will buy one.
Id mix up the ride.. but I rode the 6 miles everyday to work down the canal path, got there in exactly the same time and lost 20lbs, my fitness went through the roof..my whole life improved, the way I looked, my enthusiasm, tiredness dissappeared.
That was on a manual bike..I'd easily do 20 miles on my ebike with the same effort and it would be there for me in those 20mph headwind days.
Great vid and I love the Canyon.
I'd love to see a time/cost comparison including motorbike and e-scooter as well.
Yeah a 125cc Honda CB125F does 188mpg and can filter through traffic and can park for free in many cities, plus costs a lot less to tax than a car (£21 a year).
It’s the fastest and cheapest form of petrol based transport I’ve ever used.
I have done this before, rode to work three days, drove two days so I know the times well. It took me around 40 - 45 min in the car (parked), and around 50 min on the bike. You then have to factor in getting changed and being at your desk - that bit often gets left out of these discussions. Once I got used to it, I definitely preferred the bike.
The main reason people take cars is because you can use them any time. A bike to work is ok if everything is perfect. The second it rains or snows and you are screwed. Plus parking is way easier with a car. A bike you can chain it to something, but are inside worrying if it will be there when you get out.
I work nights 7pm-3am. Get a good workout on eco mode on the way in and on the way home unless im tired i put it in standard mode on the way home. I love feeling energised when i get to work, less stressed, everyone at work think im mad but im less streesed, got more money since i got rid of the car, losing weight (on the e bike!) Get to enjoy nature by taking it all in, fresh air. No brainer for me rain or shine.
Great video I work nights and you've inspired me to e.bike in tonight
WOW, I think the 4-5 minutes difference is well worth the fun you have on the bike. Heck yeah!
I purchased an e-kit last August & I've been commuting every day since for a year. I love it.... Less stressful than driving & my journey is five minutes longer on the bike.
Do u have insurance with it and if so who do u I sure it with
With the kit version?
Really enjoyed the video Chris thinking about getting a hard tail e-mtb 🚴💥💯👍
The sneaky rider charges at work ;-)
That no one pays
I Don't miss using Public Transportation to get to work at ALL! my E-bike is a Blessing!
sitting around waiting for a bus is annoying and it’s always full of disgusting bums and annoying crazy people.
I use both bike and bus...but I don't have an electric bike.
This test is flawed you don't need to stop for fuel every trip to work :/
Yes..but you dont get a clear run everyday either.
Regardless of minor time diffetence and ignoring car ownership costs..£20 a day is a lot of cash....thats a mortgage for us up North.
@@chargeriderepeat7024 Not to mention monthly expense with everything else.
Yeah, the "test" was incredibly skewed in one direction.
Commuting on an ebike is so much fun. I sold my car, got an ebike and I never looked back.
I sold my ebike got a bike and never looked back.
@@KandiKlover Make a video, will you? You too iGameOver, thanks guys
This is my plan
Well done & well told!
Also the bike path you chosed is nice especialy the old raiway part 👍
If you need to commute more than 25mins on car you either work at the wrong place or leave at the wrong place.
54min commute on bicycle is not sustainable for many. A good bike commute should take 30-40min at a nice pace 10-15Km/h avrg.
Work should never be more than 10Km from home. 4-7Km being a good number.
Here's a better idea for a test:
Log your commute for some time say 2-4 weeks irrespective of the mode of transport. Just like you start your Garmin for every bike ride, time your car commute also.
After some weeks crunch the numbers and averages and then do some conclusions.
Like average time spent commuting, heartrate, average moving speed on both or more forms of transport etc.
Now you had so many variables making massive differences like fueling the car which surely does not happen on every commute to work.
Also traffic lights cause massive variance in time and especially if you respect the lights on the bike or not.
I've done that myself and it's consistent over the same distance. The variables average out
one day i was taking a bus to work because my ebike was in the shop for upgrades (new chain, new cassette, new pedals, new ring post after 3000kms of usage) and when i was doing my transfer midway i noticed it was the same time i usually get out of home to work arriving at 7am (it was 6:20 am), I save like an hour+ each day riding
Plus sitting around waiting for a bus is annoying and it’s always full of disgusting bums and annoying crazy people.
Interesting Vid Chris. Good to see the comparison between the two ways of getting to work. When I work in the office it takes me about thirty mins in the Car and only about eight or nine on the bike.
My commute into Wellington, New Zealand is about 10Km, but dropping 800m in the first 3K. Driving in usually takes 20 minutes plus parking time on a good day at rush hour Mazda RX8, 200HP, coupe. Driving in, speed hardly gets above 50Kph. Since October, Ive been riding my ebike, a 300watt conversion kit added to my trusty old mountain bike, but Ive set it up for commuting with more street friendly tyres, fenders and a carrier rack. Riding in takes about 17-20 minutes. However, its the drive home where the bike kicks ass. With the ebike, climbing the massive hill to home only takes me 20 minutes. Driving home in the car is usually longer in rush traffic at the end of the day. Also, when I ride in and home, I don't bother with the gym, so theres another 40 mounts in my day saved.
For the last five years i have used between one and two tanks of gas per year, I also own two e bikes.
It took me decades to achieve this lifestyle and i love it. For me cars and the whole driving scene suck so much.
I can hang one hundred dollars worth of groceries from my handlebar on my weekly supermarket run.
One e bike is throttle only and one is throttle and pedal assist. In my opinion there is no contest, pedal assist and throttle together is the way to go, sorry European lawmakers but we disagree concerning a throttle.
Having a throttle is way safer than pedal assist. Here in San Diego i love riding the dirt trails in our many canyons and i just turned 77.
Your throttle and pedal assist ebike, is it torque sensing? I've never used a throttle ebike but if I need more power from the motor I really put some force onto the pedals which the motor then detects and increases power output.
I can see a throttle being better than cadence detection on/off pedal assist because it's the only nuanced control you have.
These results are incredible, I'm biased but I'd rather take the bike anyday! 😀
I like this video as it has a similar theme to mine: comparing travel time by bike vs other modes ( mostly cars). In cities, bikes are usually as fast or faster than cars in morning or evening peak
Will be commuting on my ebike as soon as the office reopens in September. It’s going to be really interesting how it goes. Car commute is around 45 mins and I know bike will be longer (estimating an hour) but I can either choose a road route over some huge hills or off-road along an old railway line. And then variations on each. Looking forward to comparing the different routes.
When you do the cost analysis, you should do it for the bike too. As you say, depreciation of the bike, maintenance, etc. Also, if for the car case not only include the trip cost, but also you consider depreciation: it means you imply that you don't use the car for anything else, or in other words that you are willing not to have a car at all.
I love all kinds of bicycles. I will never understand how someone can drive a car.
AND I AM FROM GERMANY
Clarkson & Hammond did a very entertaining race similar to this challenge. I forget how it ended, but Hammond was spent at the end because he was on a pedal road bike. He SHOULDA used an. E-BIKE! 😜
Great video
I ride to work every single day last 5 years. No e-bike, hardtail or fs mtb. Love it! It is as you say. More energetic into work.
But the biggest problem in all this is the urbanization of our lives.
And on that bombshell it's time to go...
Got my Explore E+4 Hybrid back in January & got it purely to commute to/from work. Takes me on Avg. 29Minutes.
I used to do it on a 50cc moped which took on Avg. 18Minutes.
Honestly the Ebike is more enjoyable, keeps you fit the battery helps with any incline & of course maintain a decent speed. Ebike are fantastic as i've now sold my moped & i won't be renewing my driving licence. If anyone is thinking of getting an EBike, Do It!
Great real world test- just shows if the weather is guaranteed and it was flat enough think we'd all give it a try, myself on the iom there's too many hills , for a non electric bike that is- the future is electric!
"The dreaded brake lights"
I feel you buddy.
Time is money. Just factor in the time you work for the fuel and car wear. OTOH, riding bike to work requires a shower in summer and dressing up properly in winter/rainy season. But still, I bike to work whenever possible, even with wind, rain and child. And I also agree that travel time is more predictable, provided a good flat protection system.
My drive to work, is 10 mins and 99% of the time no traffic, i fuel up once a month and parking is free, i get work clean and wide awake because i go bed early and get up 90 mins before i start work. If i go on my bike it takes 20 mins going and and at least 30 mins to get home due to more hills. It usually rains in the uk or its windy which are not ideal conditions when you have to work at the end of the journey, plus all the things i need to take to work, and my bike has to be left outside and loads of bikes get stolen so most people just by a cheap £50 bike of ebay for that reason, everyone's journey and circumstances are different, i have tried driving, cycling, walking and a motorbike, buses aren't a option, car wins every time and i would say the bike is a better option than a motorbike, this video was best case scenario for the bike, also it was a nice sunny day which doesn't happen to often in the uk. Also what about people who travel to work at night, car is a much safer and convenient way to get about, good luck if ya want to go the suppermarket after work if your on a bike.
Found this funny....he made everything to do with the car so slow and was proper trying to do everything quick on the bike and the car was still faster....I love EMTBs but so obvious what you was doing....I mean, what was the petrol station all about 😂😂😂
Not sure it’s all about how long it takes. Take into account the high cost of the car v the bike and the added bonus of enjoying the bike and getting incidental exercise at the same time.
I worked about 5 miles from where I live and I got talking to a guy who I worked with who just happened to live down the road from me. Most days id beat him home on my ebike as traffic where I live can get really bad at times. It took me about 15-20 mins to get back and he would usually go same route ect but take about 30 mins. Only time he'd beat me back is if I came out work late or if traffic was free flowing but he would only be about 1 or 2 mins ahead and some times we made it back home at the same time 😂. He's in a few of my videos on my channel drives a Hyundai i30 in grey for anyone who's interested in watching the vids usually pass him going up the hill about 2 mins into the video
Hey Chris. Love the video comparison. I will commute every day, weather permitting. My path is most road and some light trail. I have much more trail available if I feel up to it. By car is takes me about 12-15 minutes (6 miles). By eBike it takes me 30 minutes (10 sweet miles(20 mi per day)). I am 64 years with a modified old Trek Mamba 29er hardtail with a Bafang BBS02. Today is a bit rainy 8(. Can't get enough of my eBike build. My wife said the other day, what are you going to do when winter sets in? I said "honey, get a fat ebike..."
I love being warm and I can safely say that I LOVE CYCLING IN WINTER! 😀
Electric Top Gear Network
Early viewer :) I feel like I've watched this video before
Hi what bike sat nav is that ?
i was on the fence with e-bikes but they seem to be better/faster than DH bikes, trail bikes, enduro bikes, gravel bikes, running and now cars! i am struggling to think of anything an e-bike isnt better than.
Taking away some hype, I find them real game-changers. The real deal are e-assisted cargo bikes. They really can replace a whole car in urban e suburban areas.
Stopping for fuel was cheating a bit, that hardly happens on the "average" car commute, so the realistic difference on that "one" run was likely 10 minutes.
Great video, gets the point across well, hopefully will get a few people cycling in to work. Can’t help but think the route would have been quicker on something lighter with faster tyres though, maybe a gravel bike (electric, obviously 😎)
yup though such a bike, possibly with a route change, is likely to be spending a lot more of its time above the assistance point so a E-gravel bike may not make much difference if at all, though the short sharp climbs of that area if commuting may not appeal!
I do agree with the point that bikes are very uniform with very little variation in time unlike most other forms.
I do... Same distance, but from Roundwood in the wicklow mountains to Bray, about 20k south of Dublin, Ireland. I've a straight drop of about 300m on the way in where I can do the same speed on the bike as in the car. The journey takes 20 mins in the car and 45 mins on the bike (Giant fathom e3 400wh 36v). It's the journey home where the bike comes into play, getting back up the 300m in one go.... I've a choice of different routes and some routes I'm down to first gear and boost mode. The good part is that, I borrowed 2 grand over three years to pay for the bike and if I cycle to work twice a week then the offset of petrol costs actually pays for the bike!
I did my 29 km commute in Japan by Van Moof S3 ebike. Using setting No. 3 which seems to cap the speed around 24 km/h, I got to work in 75 minutes. I rode at a very leisurely pace enjoying the views of the river and surrounding farmland. I could probably save five minutes by using setting No. 4. By car it would take about 37 minutes. So the bike took double the time of the car. We have great roads in Japan and the road I use is a four-lane with no toll. In the video it seems like the bike and car are roughly the same commute time. I think the reality for most people is that the car is twice as fast if your country has halfway decent infrastructure.
I've recently started e-mtbing to work, previoisly doing a mix of cycling and driving. E-bike takes 50 mins (15-20 faster than nornal bike) plus 10 mins to go shower, get changed etc. Car takes 35 mins plus 8 min walk from car park plus 10 min shower at home. So bike is about 15 mins slower return trip per day but I get 1:40 exercise for that and it is WAY more enjoyable. The costs are far less clear cut and it would have been good to see a realistic comparison. A new £700 battery pack every 2 years, insurance on the e-bike (unless you can afford to replace out of pocket in case of accident or theft), electricity (probably negligable), depreciation on e-mtb, servicing and maintenance (including chains, cassettes, lubrication, inner tubes, tyres, cables etc.) and even clothing worn out on bike. I would have been genuinely interested to see a comparison. I dislike cars and see them as a necessary (in rural areas) evil to be minimised as far as possible, but it's a pity that this video isn't really a very balanced argument.
Now we know where all the ad money is going....
This guy really just said E350 AMG 😂😂
I was wondering, how can there be an E350 AMG, ha ha ha.
My wife and I tested me driving to her on her eBike. 6 miles in the city. She won. But her bike does 30 MPH with throttle.
That eBike costs more than my van I've had for 15 years and done >140k miles in since I got it. And I need a car/van anyway so have to pay its tax and insurance regardless. Bike to work is far more fun and good for you so still wins regardless of any costs or time on paper though (even though I currently have no e-bike, it's all pedal power and have to shower at the end). The biggest killer to stop bike commuting is always the snooze button on the alarm clock (or the rain). So for me the best trick is have my bike in the van if I drive, leave the van and ride home, then you have no option to snooze the alarm clock the next day as you can't drive! Still no bike journeys 'lost' either as I need my van to get to trails after work on wednesdays to go riding with mates, so the van is already there when I turn up on my bike. :)
sack that off 54 minutes i'd be moving closer to work then again it depends what type of work you do and how much the pay is.
My last commutes by bike werde awesome. About 200m up in altitude and all the was down again, it takes about the same amount of time, but i get some free riding time. Ps.i just Ride my trekking bike, fits the purpose
EVERY TIME there is a clean and clear commuting route without cars, even if it is 8 Km (5 mi) longer (maybe more) than car route, it is far better for me to ride it instead of any other option of commuting. I will go there permanently.
Slightly hilly or flat terrain riding with clean air is a key factor to get bike riding addicted.
Best one way urban daily route commuting might be no longer than 60' to 80', 15 to 25 Km (max. 16 mi) for most of the people; I guess.
Right daily food/drink ammount and quality makes things possible and lighter. There is no need to add sleeping hours beyond regular person need.
4 minutes?! THATS IT?!
That’s the only difference?!
….. WHATS THE POINT OF A CAR?!
Included the cost of the bike but not the car, add sticker price or monthly finance of the car to those outgoings as well as a car's maintenance costs and that 4 mins is even more economical
Don't even own a car or want one. I've weatherproofed the e-bike I built so it's how I commute rain or shine. I actually like a bit of rain when riding, it keeps me cool.
I have health issue like seizures where I can not drive a car. But with the electric bicycle even it cost me a lot of money to get one this allow me to travel back and forward to school as well to the food store to get food without needing Uber or Lyft which cost more money. Thanks for letting me know about this the only down side of riding a electric bicycle or a regular bicycle when it rains that the hard part.
Having to pay for a parking ticket at your own work takes the mickey a bit really
And then a five minute walk to your office makes it even worse.
SeanP7195 folding bike in the trunk. Brompton/dahon, problem solved. Good for exploring too.
Now that's a fair comparison. Fully motorised vehicle vs semi motorised.
Whats the bike route called from Frome to Bath? I live in Frome just off Clink road.
Great Video, nice Workout
My Bikeway ist 5km and its so much fun😃 way better than drive a car to Work👍👍🚵
Do the same thing with an old Nissan Leaf or Renault Zoe and the cost comes down dramatically, especially if you don't need to pay £15 a day parking. Also, you need to add in the time it takes to store the bike, have a shower and make yourself look pretty.
Had to be a 'E' car of course!!
holy cow... £500 a month for the car just to get to work, that cost over a year would get you a very tasty emtb
The only Big downside to cycling to work and back is this dreadful wet weather, but when fine weather a bike is much better for you health and general well being. Don't know what you take for breakfast to give such energy but stay with it. :) :)
Virgin Car
Very expensive to maintain
Insurance is also expensive af
Breaks easily
Not enviornment friendly at all
Takes ages to clean
Getting a semi decent one will require you to rob a bank
Will likely end your life
Runs on fuel which suprise is expensive and can run out
Will make you fat
Chad bike
Cheap and also cheap to maintain
Runs on your muscles which makes you stronger and healthier
Can access more areas easily
Can be converted into an ebike
Annoys pedestrians(makes them jealous)
Has a cute little bell instead of an obnoxious horn
No need to pay any tax for it
Doesnt get stuck in traffic
Felt he was biased towards the bike. Took an age to get his ticket and the time jumped from 38 minutes to 50 minutes by time he got to the office - he did state that it was only a 5 minute walk from the car park so I don't know why it took 12 minutes. Also, there was some pretty hairy riding in that and I'm not saying it was dangerous, but certainly not 100% safe (rattling through dark tunnels with no lights with joggers oncoming etc) and he looked to be gunning the bike the whole way. Also the point as made below, he should have had fuel and not had to stop. I think the comparison could have been made had it been fairer; that while the car is going to be a good deal quicker, you'll still get there in reasonable time on the bike (without having an accident). Liked for the entertainment and effort though.
This needs to be tried in the us where the motor cut off speed is 20 mph and with my bike it's 25mph with pedal assist
Great vid comparison, Chris! My 12 mi e-bike Commute is only 12-13 minutes longer than a car (most on a scenic shared-use path), but with all the intangible physical benefits. Hello, fun..!
Bike is a way better option to commute with, notice you did this when the kids are on summer holidays.
Nice mix of country and city for your commute (mine is pure city)...I ride my bike every (commute) chance I can😎
Summers here in Florida are a bit rough though...it's all ready hot and muggy by 6:00 in the morning 😰
Still ride though, love it...
Great ebike especially for the price
my way to work is about 35km one way. it akes about 40min in the car and 1.30 to 1.40h on the bike.
You're living too far from home, this is a problem on many "modern cities" that are not actually modern, no person should commute more than 10km.
i am looking into a ebike for my commute too. The ride is 18k. Currently using the train / bus to get there and it takes me 1h15min. The trip is 90 % flat road ( can make the ride more interesting tho) i think i can probably cut down on time as well :)
25kph limiter when you are off road? also if you are driving this commute regularly & rarely going over 40mph perhaps a smaller more economical car would be better, even an EV.
@@purpleturtle8841 really? high end cars are not that practical, who'd of thought it... Well enjoy your oh so important flexing while you commute to work.
Refuelling the car makes this an unfair test. Full battery, full tank.
My commute is only 2.9 miles , takes 11 mins in the car 13 on my ebike , and the engine isn’t quite up to temp when I get there ,,hence the reason why I got the bike initially, I save 40 quid a month on the journey , unless it’s raining heavy then I whimp out
the bike commute looks way for fun than driving through traffic!!!!
Brother, no lights in the tunnel? Bad example;-)
Agreed, crazy. Save the MTB for the weekend?
My commute is about same distance but in Country Australia. On my loaded ECR it takes just under an hour. An ebike would be ok on the way home to help fight fatigue on the 4th ot 5th day. If I drive my 36 year old V8 Land Rover it takes 18 minutes. I ride most days. I would like ebike prices to come down and the limit go up for commuting. For me it would make more sense to buy a motorcycle
Ebikes for life
A 50 min commute! I would prefer to live closer to work as I couldn't hack 50 mins each way on a car or on a bike.
do pracy dojerzdzalem tramwajem, miesieczny bilet sporo kosztowal, samochodem wychodzilo jeszcze drozej, kupilem e bika wyjezdzam na nim z domu 15 minut pozniej i bez stresu na spokojnie dojade na czas,do pracy mam okolo 20 km :)
You missed the chance to draw attention to the link between the speeds - 155mph and 15.5mph
Here in the states I figured it costs me about 30 dollars a day to drive a pretty decent mid level sedan. Essentially a 1000 USD every month and I have a much shorter commute than yours. That’s just too much money. I have an e-bike being delivered soon so hopefully I will feel the savings
Nice way to think about it Sean! Good maths!
That's not a commuter bike and the selected route wasn't either. Because of that you have to add to total travel time cleaning and changing clothes at work place.
Of cause enjoy fresh morning air and getting stress released at afternoon the e-bike always wins there!
An e Bike would be fine. With normal bike it takes 1h30min ro work, but 2h 30 min. BACK, because I live higher up, so car takes 40 min. Each way.
Sometimes I take the car for the first 10 km and the bike on the flat. Thos is better, but ab E bike would be an option.
ebike vs motorcycle,
my motorcycle cost 1k, fuel $2 per 200km, $50 for 5 year tax, 30 for monthly maintenance
i sometimes cycle to work, is e bike still worth for me?
The price of maintenance on a bike a few dollars a year for lube, tires, Electricity and brake pads. That would be cheaper. The most expensive part would be the tires.
