    Never out ride your field of vision e.g. if approaching a blind corner make sure you are at a speed you can stop at any time. Bike riding 101 , although i appreciate this was a show with the camera person spotting for you , it is so easy to forget that simple rule . Ignoring it , it does eventually happen that someone steps out at the exact wrong moment , if you are in the right or wrong it still hurts and damages everything.

    Chris, your point about observing red traffic lights is well made. Mind you, section 129 (miscellaneous summary offences) of The Roads (Scotland)Act 1984 sets out, amongst other things, that it is an offence to ride a bike on a footpath. It could be taken that riding down a public road whilst pulling a wheelie is riding recklessly.
    I am sure legislation in other countries, including England, makes similar provisions but I am also sure you wouldn't condone committing traffic offences so perhaps English legislation permits that style or riding.

    • @knoxieman
      @knoxieman 5 років тому

      The offence of riding on a footpath only covers footpaths that run alongside roads, unless there is specific sineage or local laws riding on a footpath is permitted in many places including through alley ways, parks etc including probably some of the scenes in this video, this has been tested in court many times and is explained in this article here.

    i have noticed in my daily commute to work and to home that my battery life sucks when i have to stop for lights and corners and stops and cars (going to work @ 13kms)...it takes me longer too, BUT when i go home i use my local trail , which is almost 15kms away and uses almost 5% less battery...so when i am riding almost non stop i get optimum battery life, coincidence?! by the way i have to use the road bike to work because light conditions do not let me see the "black ice" in trails and renovations in the earlier mornings, can't wait for sprint daytime to start earlier already (Canada), cheers . I am saving almost 40 minutes of my life each way compared to transit

    I'm thinking about getting an electric mountain bike for riding to school. I currently use a street bike, but would like to use an electric mountain bike instead so I can go faster and do some trails because there are good MTB trails along my commute. I don't want to where a backpack while I ride, and I have panniers on my street bike. If I'm mostly using it for commuting, would it be all right to put panniers on an electric mountain bike? I'm putting off buying because of the coronavirus, but I'm waiting to buy a used 2014 Haibike Xduro RX 29 for $1400 (It originally retailed for $4000) I'm only concerned that the battery my be too old, and I might end paying a ton to replace it. Is it worth buying it? Or should I pay more for a newer bike.

      @@scottpratico1315 Looking to get my first Ebike ( just finished paying off my Yetti SB150, which cost me my left kidney), would you recommend the Kenevo or Levo or Pivot Suttle. Just an old cross country guy that found his passion for mild to mid enduro trails and having time of his life

      Steve Hofsaess got a focus jam 2 with tec pack, upgraded the front fork to a pike 150, and its a nice bike to ride and does a 100 miles with tec pack on, also easy to ride switched off as well

    Good vid but hardly a realistic commute.... my old 5 mile (each way non e-bike) meant dicing with death over a major roundabout or taking the scenic route that passed a dodgy estate- neds with psycho dogs, paths covered in glass and dogsh*t and despite being a Sustrans route and a shared bike/pedestrian path(...in theory....) you had to watch out for the pedestrians and their stupid dogs....Commute to work like in this video and a collision will be a regular thing, more reckless than sticking to the road and fitting a dongle lol!!!

    There's a difference between having fun and being an absolute prat. Don't do wheelies and kick flips on the road, don't ride down steps on the pavement because if you hit someone at speed you're gonna be in serious trouble.

    I was like wow, until he shows up for work....at a bike shop. Uh, not really doable for the "office worker". But cool bike

    Trails, bike paths and skate parks all good, kids playparks, pavements and sets of steps not so good
