This hyper-corporate culture and internet/social media have made this problem sooo much worse, as well as many other problems like propaganda, disinformation, distraction media etc etc. The internet felt free and fun until big business sunk it's claws in and took over everything including all our personal information, our governments our minds and whole lives... It's become like every problem humanity had in the 20th century have all been pumped up on massive doses of steroids thanks to the cheap grifting tools of high tech software, smart phones and online media. Everyone's been thoroughly trained to mindlessly believe any use of technology is somehow a glorious bright new future too. It clearly isn't and is causing enormous increases in every kind of mental health issue as well as eroding the fabric of society so thoroughly and carelessly that the baby is being repeatedly thrown out with the bathwater (as the saying goes) with breathtaking ignorance.
What a fucking beautiful man he is and also was. No one can take anything from what he has done even if you are a complete troll. The story amongst others that he has told shows you how much of a loving and caring person that he actually is. That is a beautiful thing in today’s society. We don’t have enough of that anymore and let’s be honest, Billy Connolly doesn’t have long left on this earth which makes me sad but people like him say things like they are and we need more people like him because if we don’t Then our world is going to fall to shit! anyways my main point is that this video is beautiful because it shows an absolute legend showing his true colours and it is completely courageous but also something that we should all take something away from. I am by no means trying to tell anyone what to do, but this is only my opinion on watching one of my not only childhood but also adult heroes. May he live along and prosperous life, because the day that I go on social media and find out that he has died will be one of the saddest days of my life because he has been a staple within my entire family for decades. I apologise for my rant but I love you Billy Connolly and you have made my life that little bit better because of your comedy ❤️

Those who are not Depressed do not know the experience, I do. We know that cold, dark feeling deep in our gut, but it goes from head to toe. I like to describe it as a "Bubble" in which our lives exist. Normally that bubble is relatively large and encompasses our daily lives, but with Severe Depression, that bubble shrinks, and it can shrink so much that anything outside of that bubble, including help in one way or another, no longer is visible to us. We often suffer in silence, particularly when we're old and alone. I can understand what Robin must have felt, knowing that it would indeed get worse, probably much worse before its end. I can only speak for myself, but if it gets to the point that very little quality of life is left, and I know what is inevitable, I'll leave on my own terms, not drooling on myself waiting for the end in the hall of some Nursing Home.

I see there's a lot of people upset with the interview, but I honestly think this was fine. It's really important to talk about the uncomfortable things, and by asking Billy his own perspective on what happened to Robin, who was another comedian with Parkinsons, he was casually checking in on him to find out if he's okay, and the last thing he did was to make sure Billy knew there's always hope for some medical improvements worth sticking around for.
I couldn't agree more.... this was a very bad interview from a very bad interviewer' ... his line of questioning was so insensitive and unprofessional...it was quite obvious that 'billy Connolly ' was very uncomfortable thru' the whole sorry episode.
