Hi Anna, it is good to see you! Inlove the baby sweater and pants! They are so cute! Love the socks and slippers too! I love to crochet at night too. It helps when I am tired but still want to knit or crochet.
I absolutely adore the sweet baby sweater. Its so cute. Congratulations on you little one still snuggled in his developing unit. 😊 I love watching your extatic enthusiasm for your pregnancy. What a blessing. Very refreshing to see in our present world. May the Lord bless you, Mommy, daddy and baby.
Thank you very much! Yes, I am very excited. I always wanted to be a mom. That has always been my biggest goal. I know I won't sleep much and it will be hard work but I am looking forward to it very much! Just recently I saw on the Matt Walsh show what people write in a Sub-reddit about regretting becoming parents. It broke my heart. These poor kids.
Wow, your baby blanket is gorgeous! A true labor of love! The socks for your midwife are also beautiful! You are so thoughtful and kind. Your guest slippers are also beautiful and such a nice welcoming gesture for your guests. The striped baby sweater and pants are so adorable! Your son will look so cute and cozy in them! Your Christmas is July sock is very beautiful and reminds me of Christmas sweets and colorful tree ornaments. The sock for your husband is also really beautiful! As a twin who was born on our uncle’s birthday, I’ve always enjoyed sharing our birthdays. Your granny stitch shawl looks beautiful and comforting.
When I use Sugar n Cream, I get 2 coordinating colors (like variegated and solid) and I can make 3 cloths from those 2 balls, 1 of each color and 1 striped or half and half. When I make a corner to corner cloth, I increase to 49 stitches, so a little bigger than what you are making. Just so you know, their solid colors have more yarn in the ball than the variegated. It’s a decent yarn, but I have found that the colors fade quicker than some others with multiple washes. Your baby knits are adorable!
Glove box is another name for glove compartment. Many times when we see a cute puppy (young dog), we will call it a doggie to express how little it is. Love your baby blanket! What a wonderful keepsake it will be. Blessings!
We use the word gosling for a baby goose and duckling for a baby duck. I'm sure there are probably others. I just started watching Gilmore Girls for the first time. It’s quite good- no violence. My husband even gets a kick out of the humour.
Love the channel! Quick tip for smelly dishcloths: after using, rinse it, squeeze out most of the water, then toss it in the microwave for one minute. That will kill the bacteria that causes the smell. I do this with kitchen sponges as well (however, I have mostly given up sponges ).
@@KarlaGustafson-vq1ch Are you doing that after ever use or by the end for the day? I use sponges for washing the dishes but dishies for lightly used dishes, the counter tops, the stove, cupboards etc.
@@annaknitter Hi - I usually do it at the end of the day. I still occasionally put the dishcloths through the wash - but on a daily basis I put dishcloths I've used and sponges I've used in the microwave (wet) for 1 minute.
Thank you! I am always amazed when people think about my podcast the way I think about others podcasts. When I see a new episode of my favorite hosts I am so happy!
“But that’s not how I roll” 😂😂😂 I have never heard you say that before! 😂🤣 I get frustrated with my knit dishcloths, or baby blankets, because they shrink more in length than in width.I wish I knew how much MORE they would shrink so I could accommodate that with knitting a bit longer. Your baby blanket is so beautiful!
Now I had to double check if I understand the saying correctly. 😅 I do. What a relief. But my husband explained me that the origins are more from street life? Is that true? When it comes to sewing fabric I think cotton shrinks usually about 30%. And it always shrinks they way it stretches I think. But ifknitted fabric stretches in all directions. So I have no idea if we can know in advance how it shrinks.
@@annaknitter Oh yes, you are correct in how you used the phrase. In the US, many young people say it. I would consider it a slang expression. I just didn’t expect to hear it from you, as you are more of a proper English speaker. And it was quite cute how you slipped it in there!
Have you ever watched a crime show called Monk? He is a detective who has certain peculiarities like germaphobia and OCD but notices everything so he solves the most difficult cases. It is very funny.
@@barbpassalacqua3257 oh yes, I have watched single episodes in the past. That’s a great reminder. I am sure it would be fun to watch it from start to beginning. Thanks 🙏🏻
Hi from Beausejour Canada. I’m knitting through my sock stash this summer and a scrappy blanket. Great job on your blanket. Have you watched father brown and miss marple based on Agatha Christie books. Cozy crimes. Plus there is home fires which has amazing knitwear based in the 40’s
@@christinefunk3591 My husband and I are reading Father Brown currently. We could watch it when we are though the stories. Thank you. Yes, I have watched Miss Marple several times and I watched them once with Tommy. My Mom watched the movies with us when I was little. The entrance melody is her ring tone. 😂
I find Sugar and Cream Cotton yarn has a bad odor after one day. I think it could be the color in the yarn. My knitting friends have said the same. Have you found the same.
In English words ending in -y or -ies or -sy often make another word diminuative. Such as ducky, kitties, footsy. And as for police, “cop” can go either way. It is more polite to use police or officer, but a “cop show” is very acceptable. I love all your excitement to knit baby things! I wish I were in the same country, it would be fun to have a knit group together. We’ll have to settle for podcasts and Telegram, I guess. Continued prayers for a healthy baby!
I love detectives. White Collar is a great show! And I can watch it with people who don't want to watch murder crime shows. The stories of Father Brown is the book my hubby and I read at the moment. 😃 The other shows you mentioned I will check out. Thanks a lot!
