That's simple and great. You are my go-to guy from here on out. I was at the end of a painting I needed to know how to pull off the water and Reflections at night, I'm working on a night scheme
Thank you Ameeyah :-))) I can guarantee you that nothing on any of the tutorials I have or I will upload on this channel is in any way photoshopped ;-)))
This had been my dream to paint water and clouds.in 1980's But couldn't do without guidance. I am watching your videos. Thanks for guidance 🙏. From Malawi Africa
I'm about to try this technique. Might have to make adjustments, as it'll be fully acrylic, but your video is on point, informative and well made. Thanks!
Thank you Taressa :-))) You could use dry retarder for your acrylics - basically "simulating" to have oils, that would help you a lot in getting the colour blended. But it will still work with acrylics by layering (at least that`s what I would try to do).
🙏Thank you for all the tricks that you provide are really very detailed, I hope the tricks and your way of painting that you apply in this video I can implement it too and definitely for all painting lovers who are still learning. useful. thanks for the knowledge👍🙏🙋

Thank you Rosalinda :-))) I mix all of my colours out of a pool of 7 colours. And for this painting I used titanium white, raw sienna and some lamp black. And I mixed them accordingly to my reference material.
Thank you for answering so promptly. Love all your work I’ve learned a lot from you , but I’m still learning getting better too the more I paint the better I do. Thanks to you and your tutorials.
Your video absolutely amazing.. loved it.. Can u plz tell how water reflection is drawn .. wha shape should we keep in mind.. coping water shape is quite difficult
Thank you :-))) The easist way is to start with a photo of a nice water scene that you use as a reference. Coming up with a water reflection scene straight out of your mind is something that you can only do with a huge amount of experience, and even then it will not have the same feeling of reality as if you use a photo reference. On your photo of choice you see the basic shapes - and theses shapes you just need to get onto your painting surface. Take your time and follow the photo reference patiently step by step as I showed you in this video - then you should end up with a similar looking painting :-)
Great video! Well I think most of us know (confirmed in PhotoShop), that the human eye judges color and brightness in context as opposed to absolute values. I admire artists that can isolate the exact colors. I guess it's an exercise of seeing shapes oitside their context and back in context again, basically the necessary analysis-synthesis, think-feel back and forth process as in all art forms.
Thank you :-))) But acutally it is WAYYYY easier to seperate the colours ;-))) I got here one of my videos and this one is about this exact topic - if you want to improve your ability to mix the right colour ANYTIME do yourself a favour and watch this video - this trick is SO simple but SO effective :-))) ua-cam.com/video/1GOuKx6M9mU/v-deo.html

Hi Rafa, depends upon the speed you`re able to paint ;-) Oils do work better in this case, you have more time to blend. But you can layer acrylics (several layers of very thin colour applied to your painting surface one after another until you got the colour you need) or you simply use some dry retarders for acrylics.
Love the light and shade. Thank you for this beautiful video . It would be great that you explained what colour of paint you use or maybe I missed something.. That’s the aim of showing a video. Nevertheless you do a great job. Thank you.
Hi Joanne, thinned down means using some medium to thin down the colour. I use mainly linseed oil for this task, this helps to keep the paint from drying too fast. And I get a more or less thick oder thinner glaze that I can work with.
Thank you maureen :-))) But this one is actually not THAT difficult. You really need just to follow your reference material and be patient enough to take your time :-)))
