How To Draw Dodecahedron - The 5 Platonic Solids
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- Here is how you draw a Dodecahedron. It is one of the 5 platonic solids. The ancients described the platonic solids as the perfect 3 Dimensional forms. They are said to form the foundation of all the physical world. The others being the Tetrahedron, Cube, Octahedron, Icosahedron.

I love geometric art. Thank you for all of the wonderful videos!!
You are my hero! Thank you for drawing this for us Mathly challenged people. Have a great day!
A lot of help thanks! Can't believe this is the only video about how to draw a dodecahedron!
Awesome Guy there are videos about the cube of Metatron. It's based on the same grid.
Right?! It really is a sacred shape.
Beautiful. I really enjoyed this one. Thanks!
pocket83 did you draw that octahedron?
There's a link to a high-res version of this logo somewhere on one of my channels, but I'm not going to spam post it here. Yes, I drew it. But it's proportioned nearly identically to every other image out there.
Thank you so much for uploading this tutorial! I really wasn't able to find a tutorial how to draw these geometric solids :)
hi there, i am feeling good again. i did not see this stuff since the 70's when i was in high school in metallic structures, i used to enjoy all the drawing class all the technical drawing.
i got lost many years i feel i want to re-learn this i have been watching your drawings and it feels the pleasure again… thanks for doing this.
thats is true isn't it, and thanks to persons like you that love to share knowledge, and the world and the young kids can stay away from trouble and we rebuild together a more relevant world, and not the dysfunctional world of ignorance and poverty, just creative minds can defeat the mediocre and corrupted world.
thank you so much.
I can't believe how precise you are. I have to fiddle with my ruler for every line. Sometimes I make a compass hole just for precision. I'm going to start posting I think; I really admire your work!
Thx for the help now I can get an A+ on my book for this and many others
Thanks For The Help Wang
A work of art.
What an excellent and informative video 🙏💚🕉️💚🙏
Really great. I am going to have my Geometry class draw these! Thanks for the great tutorial.
awesome Mike! Thank you
I love this one !
Drew this in 7 mins. Thanks!!!!!
Thanks you! Very nice technique ❤️
oh god this video is so loud
can't wait for my new compass to arrive, the 550 02, i believe... the micro-adjustment wheel really gets me excited!!
my ruler was delivered in 2 days, stainless/cork-backed/made in china with sticker on cork weeee... just leave the sticker there, trust me. 18x18 drawing board with clips, hand-hole and rubberband to hold paper... electric eraser ftw.... I should look for a really good protractor, but, knowing how to draw anything with just a compass and a straight edge is THE SHIT.
Why??
Because with a compass and straight-edge a person can pretty much build literally anything. It's as useful a skill as knowing how to start a fire.
+JT Truth!
thank you for sharing
hey, great work! but why did u only use circles n that to only in this specific geometry? i have an assignment , please reply
Wow, Awesome!!!!
I must say, this dodecahedron was pure beauty.
Grate Job it's bountiful
When are you going to finish this playlist of the other solids. It's been several years now.
thanks, your videos are brilliant
Tree Beard Thank you Tree Beard
Dearing Wang you are amazing i love your videos!!!! :):):)
Thank you
some tips:
Most of the circles are not needed.
You just can use the center-circle to create theese straight lines in 60° angles and then take a length you like (for sample 4cm) and put it twice as points on each of the six direction-lines.
Theese points are all you need for the following steps (after 2:05) in the video.
Or you can draw a very big circle (for sample 16 cm Ø) and then divide the distance from the center-point to the outline by two on each of the six directions.
So you can use theese points and the intersections on the cricle´s outline for the following steps.
With both of my sample values the finished drawing will be 8 cm high (after erasing all surrounding guide-lines).
it's a demonstration of constructing a platonic solid from metatron's cube, a shape that encompasses all the platonic solids. even though all of the geometric constructions are not necessary for the dodecahedron, the original shape is meant to contain all the platonic solids
@@p0stgravity997
But this video only shows the Dodecahedron, not the other platonics.
Very nice 👍
very nice drawing
Fantastic 😍
Fascinating!
The video was good
I think you searched the 12 dimensions of the dodecahedronic universe for the most annoying music possible, and found it in sector 123 of the 11'th dimension.
Yup, i muted it instantly 😂
Using multiple circles is ok but too much work. I make one large circle, then make a hexagon with that circle. Then I connect each points making a merkaba, and then line connecting each point on the merkaba. These lines dividing the merkaba in half intersect at the smaller hexagon inside the merkaba perfectly in half. Connect all outer points on the outer circle to the halfway point of each side of the inner hexagon. And the final step to get a dodecahedron is to connect the small outer edges of the docecahedron to form a decahedron.
How do you figure out all these methods to drawing geometric shapes? I'm impressed!
Благодарю 🙏
thank you so much
Thank u
Wonderful, my sugestion is calm classic music to inspire us, once that IS Spiritual activicty.
very good
Gracias shalom
I see a couple of comments that the angles are not proportionally correct. Does any one know whether this was a problem for the ancients, or whether the ideal of a form, as an expression of sacred geometry, took precedence over the form as it appears in this world? In other words, was drawing the form in this way a method of meditation on the perfect form?
enossified i believe you only have to add more circles along the 6 starting lines and soon you will have the circles with the proper points. Understand?
wow. beautiful. thanks. do you also know how to draw a nonagon?
WOW
Did you make videos for the construction of the other solids? Looking for one on a octahedron at the moment!

Louuuuuud :)
I wish I could listen to the music while I draw it, but can't possibly keep up haha
Ah yes, dodecahedron

Can you teach how yo draw a dodecaedro un two planos
Best
Super. How can I થેન્ક this
Woah mans thumbnail lookin like an engram from D2

I want to bring to everyone's attention that I do not think the perceived perspective is correct; like Jim has mentioned. I understand that this drawing is meant to make it easier to draw a perspective from regular shapes. Obviously this has the appearance of being a perspective made from an isometric layout of spheres and triangles, but this is not a true, natural perspective.
This natural perspective contains distortions which means the angles are not correct. The pentagons do not line up with inner pentagons. If this were a true perspective of a dodecahedron, a series of inverted stars inside those pentagons at angles would have the same center. Think of it as a hand drawing that doesn't quite line up; even in software.
I am actually going to draw the shape out in some 3D cad software and see if I can't constrain the angles to the point of having them line up properly so the resulting pentagons have center points in common with their inner inverse stars. I know that sounds obnoxious, but that's why I love tinkering with drawing software. It would surely be easier to make a 3D solid and just render that out, but what's the fun of that?
Drawing representations of 3D objects in 2D, accurately, is a real challenge.
You are correct. People usually draw both the dodecahedron and icosahedron incorrectly. it all came from Drunvalo's "Metatron's Cube", which is an innacurrate teaching. Iv'e spent the past year figuring out how to accurately draw all 5 platonic solids from each perspective of face edge and vertex using only straight edge and compass technique. Furthermore, I have determined how to place them inside of their circumsphere. This is not as simple as drawing a circle around the perspective so that it appears to touch the vertices, as most of the solids won't appear to touch the widest cross section of the sphere from the given perspective. I'm about a month or two away from publishing an e book. I'll send you a free copy when it's complete.
@@traviscrisp7136 did you finish the e-book? I'd like to see it

This drawing is proportionally incorrect. If you create an actual three dimensional Dodecahedron you can see this for yourself.
This is an isometric view, which is indeed not true to reality, though often the easiest and best way to geometrically construct a shape
Booooooooo
@@felixnewhouse2685 so is it correct or not

If this drawing isnt even perfectly in perspective, why bother with the compass construction?? Why not eyeball it, and have a rough method?
Что за музыка играет в видео?

from the thumbnail, i thaught, it´s drawn with a 3d-pc-program like Sketchup.

This one was too easy .
kyber momand Don't worry Kyber. There will be plenty of complex ones coming up. :) . Some people just like drawing geometric art a bit less complicated. Stay tuned. :)
Whats up with that music 🔇
It's OUT of golden proportions. This drawing is WRONG. NOT even perspective creates such distortion.
he lost all credibility with that goofy ass music
