Thank you for this. Going through it with my daughter I had an epiphani (sp?) about this, and I'm certain that your dodecahedron is incorrect. The three outer triangles coming of the center should be isocoles (sp?) not equalateral, as the depth of field would put their points farther in the distance than the respective edges and points of the center triangle. We dug a little deeper and discovered that you would need the 61 circle version of the flower of life to draw a dodecahedron with correct depth of field. Hope this is helpful, your video was extremely helpful for us.
@@ZKorvin I meant the icosahedron... What I'm saying is that what you drew isn't that. It's an octahedron with a triangle drawn on one face and dividing lines drawn on the other four faces. I also saw this in many other places on the web and it seems important because it's actually incorrect. You can't draw an actual icosahedron using the ninteen circle flower of life, you need the higher resolution version. That makes sense because it's the inverse of the dodecahedron. Anyways take it or leave it. Just wanted you to know that your (really good) video has a major error in it and the error is common amongst others doing similar work in the world and I think an update would be a service to the greater good. I would if it was me anyways.

We need a flower of life STAMP damnit - i also learned that wider tips for writing instruments hide slight misalignments of circles, mostly due to pencil lead changing shape over the course of drawing 19 circles! felt tip pen or sharpie ultra fine point which I find to be perfect - if I’m inking. Thanks for the vid - i was trying to figure out how to color all of them on one flower of life while still having each stand out. I don’t think that’s gonna work.
The largest number of facets that a three-dimensional object can have, where all facets are exactly the same size and shape, is found in a regular polyhedron. Among the regular polyhedra, the one with the most faces is the icosahedron, which has 20 triangular faces. Does that make an icosahedron a Platonic Solid?
Now I have thousands of questions. Can the platonic solid be derived with planar interlocking circles? Are these 3D projections of the five platonic solids? It really gets very complicated if these are just projections in the plane that actually exist in the 3 dimensional space as a section. hmm....
Had no idea you were British too, nice mate 🤟 Question, when I draw Metatron’s Cube from your other video, I don’t know which lines to make darker and keep lighter so that the 5 Platonic solids are clearly visible. Any ideas?
I love to watch you draw... and sometimes i try to draw too. But until now when i draw à flower of life there is always à moment when precision is not right anymore !! Any advice ?? So i can make à perfect one some day??
Flower of no-life cubes, metatron's cube does NOT contain golden ratio. There're no icosahedron nor d(u)odecahedron in it. Perception doesn't even cause this extreme distortion.
Using a similar method as the dodecahedron, you can actually render the cube in perfect perspective. I've actually used that to draw objects within the cube, and have them appear 3-dimensional.
@@edwardholmes91 not really, I think that all regular polygons can create 'platonic' solids and even the existing platonic solids can be modified to create more
@@GUSUMS Yes, I agree, using all regular polygons, of the same type, with convex faces, forms the 5 Platonic Solids, comprising of the following: - Tetrahedron (self dual), - Hexahedron aka Cube, dual of the Octahedron - Dodecahedron, dual of the Icosahedron. These shapes can be stellated, or simply capped, to form other polyhedra too of course. But the next set of polyhedra are the Archimedean Solids, a group of 13 solids, again, convex and made from regular polygons, but this time without the restriction of polygons of the same type, e.g. the Cuboctahedron, combining squares and equilateral triangles. I won't go on to name them all, as Wikipedia has plenty of information about them, but they also include the Truncated Icosahedron, Truncated Dodecahedron, Rhombicuboctahedron, Rhombicosidodecahedron, etc. Then there are the Archimedean Duals, 13 additional solids... plus Deltahedra, Prisms, Pyramids, Antiprisms, et. al.
