+Shawn Ravenfire Or it's just people being irritated because they want to do something against being in pain, and not able to do anything about it. People are generally like that, if they know what to do to make themselves feel better, they pull themselves together and focus on doing that, if not, they wish they did and start to hate everything around them.
I'd conjecture that it's mostly just the unpleasantness of feeling ill. Any kind of stress tends to make us more irritable, and a constant bombardment with unpleasant stimuli is _definitely_ stressful. If that ended up being an evolutionary advantage on top, I doubt it'd be that big of one. You could be right though!
It uses more senses than regular old text books, so that's a plus. It also visualizes the topics in a way that is most appealing and easy to wrap your head around rather than accurate. The presenter and the presentation are also paced in a way that keeps your attention up which is something that, sadly, only few teachers know how to do. It also reduces the topic down to its most important parts without handling the basics of the topic, which most of the time constitutes the boring shit you have to repeat all the time in order to remember. So, what these presentations do is reduce the topic to the things that are most interesting and important about it, which enables you to learn the most fascinating things about science without having to get through the boring shit needed to actually get to the conclusion yourself. This makes it possible for these neat little videos to achieve what many education systems around the world sadly do not, which is make education fun and show how fascinating the things education gets us to knowing can be. Just my two cents.
I think that it's also because, since you're doing this of your own choice, you become more invested in what's happening. I'd guess that's also why jobs become less fun even if it's regarding something you love to do. Let's say you're an artist who loves to paint who sells paintings for a living. However, after a while of doing that as a job, you don't find painting as enjoyable as it was before. Even though it's a thing that you used to love doing, being technically forced to do it all the time dampens the enjoyment in the activity. However, that doesn't happen when you're not painting as a job, even though you might technically be doing it for the same length of time. Not to mention the ability to freely take a break whenever you feel like it isn't really allowed in a job much (especially not in an art-related job where you essentially need to make things 24/7 to scrape by if you're a normal person). Basically, having to do stuff makes that stuff less enjoyable, even if doing it of your own choice results in you spending the same or greater amount of time doing that stuff.

I couldn't keep ANYTHING in so I just lay on the couch until suddenly I went weak and my instincts kicked in and I crawled on my hands and knees to the bathroom and drank out of the sink sip by sip until I could stand. I went from "I just feel really bad" to my brain screaming at me "You're about to die! GO!!" It was an interesting experience.
I loved the graphics! And I learned that sleeping more when I'm sick will maximize my body's natural resources toward recovery. This explains the science behind my old-country Irish dad's advice!
This was actually really helpful! Especially the part of why you feel so tired, achy and completely blah and unmotivated when your sick. Explained very well and in depth.
My theory; we feel awful when we are sick to not only aid in eliminating bacteria/viruses but also so we KNOW we are sick and something is wrong and can go lay down and help our body with medicines/water, also so others know we are sick and will be careful not to get affected as well.
The fever medication is given to prevent overwhelming and dangerous/threatening fever Because your body will try to save you even if life and/or body is at stake
And then there's me with a chronic autoimmune disease and my normal is what other people call a flu. My bad days were compared to the incapacity of a cancer patient. 🌟 If I ever get better I'll be the most chipper person simply for feeling well. I don't even remember what "well" feels like anymore.

I've never been this sick before from the flu. I got a flu shot on Tuesday and felt bad for 2 days but I felt okay the next day. However, the after that I started coughing, spiked a fever, muscle aches, and headache. It's been over a week now and I'm so fatigued and am still coughing.
It always start with a cough. Man i feel the same since Monday. What amazed me in all of these symptoms is the lack of appetite. Since it does hit me i feel lazy and get tired quickly. The only difference between you and i is that I’ve not taken the flu shot.
There's your answer - my Mum was effectively dead 50mins after a flu shot. No pulse, no breathing. Fortunately Paramedics were in the next street and revived her. A week in hospital.
I too am the sickest I've ever been for the longest period of time with this flu. Slowly, slowly going but only after 2+ weeks. I have the flu shot every year, so god knows what this would have been like without it.
Good video. "It'll wipe out the infection before you even notice it." Tune up your symptom detector. As a middle school teacher I got really fed up with being sick at least twice a year from infected germy kids. I instituted COVID level cleanliness procedures (5 years before COVID): Clorox wipes of all surfaces in my class, and then whenever I even thought about it, I'd again wipe down desktops, chair backs and sides (where people touch them), etc. I put a two liter bottle of Purell on my desk and encouraged students to use it. Sick kids I sent to the nurse (on the one day a week she was there) or the office. They'd send them back. And I'd send them back again. But THIS is the big step. While creating lessons on how to tell the difference between flu, colds, allergies, etc. I realized that when I got hammered with the flu I'd woken up that morning and had the thought, "I might be coming down with something, I'd better take it easy." And then at some point during the day flu hit me like a truck. So in the morning instead of my energy level continually rising, it starts to taper off? I call in sick and go back to bed for the rest of the day. The first time I did this I felt like a complete flake - I didn't feel at all sick. But that night I started to get the flu headache. _Uh oh, here it comes._ Nope. Next day I woke up feeling great. I'd just beaten the flu. (Because I have asthma usually when I got the flu I'd have it for about four days and then secondary problems for another week or two.) In Hong Kong February 2020, at the beginning of COVID I had one of those experiences, but in the evening. My temperature was up, it didn't feel like anything I'd ever experienced (two sort of 'knots' on both sides of my chest). Same thing, go to bed. All the symptoms, feelings? were completely gone at 1-2am when I got up to pee. 6 weeks ago I did this again, had to skip a class I'd paid $200 for. Better safe than sorry. Next day, felt great. Hope this helps.
Great points and I'll echo that: be aware of your condition, listen to your body and watch out for early symptoms. Sometimes I'm feeling a bit "off" and YES, it is always worth taking it easy, and staying home if you think you're getting sick. Cancelling your other plans and resting in bed not only can prevent sickness, but imagine if you were about to go to school, or the office, or to see friends ... you might be infecting them!! It's smart to stay home when you're feeling sick or when you feel like it's coming.
"to have you sleep and recover faster" YEAH SURE just skip the common cold enitirely because I can't bloody sleep because my nose is running and I'm coughing so much!
Me: I need to sleep to destroy this virus My brain: yes you do Me: **is close to falling asleep** My brain: **causes coughing fit, making me have to start all over again**
@Ben Blanco make sure you clean your pillow case every now and then and shower every night, you could have pollen stuck to your hair and getting it all over your pillow case. It’ll make sleeping a nightmare
This is a great video. Far too often we want relief from "problems" without knowing the extent of what will happen when we do that, or why they are there in the first place. If you are able to recognize the complexity and organization of the human body, you will have less interest in controlling its processes, and more interest in helping it do the things that it is so innately capable of doing on its own.

I loved the graphics! And I learned that sleeping more when I'm sick will maximize my body's natural resources toward recovery. This explains the science behind my old-country Irish dad's advice!
I wish i could sleep more, but unless it's the flu i end up sitting on the sofa rather then sleeping
Or life gives up on you for a while.
This is really interesting.

TCO Gaming no offence but the reason the body temperature goes down again after taking the medication is because the disease or sickness is goneeee ;)
@@eshithakk145 things like ibuprofen dont do anything but cool you down or make the pain go away, it doesnt actually cure anything.
@@eshithakk145 No the medication just lowers ur temperature, it has no effect on the illness. The medication for fever is just for comfort.
The fever medication is given to prevent overwhelming and dangerous/threatening fever

Can’t believe I used to be able to go to school then play sports while sick.
Now if I have a slight cough I take the day off work haha
I love this thank you! With panic disorder this helps me when I'm sick and just learned it can mess with serotonin levels.
I lost a friend who had autoimmune disease. For years upon years doctors thought that he had kidney problems that comes and go away. He only had several months to live after he finally found out about his disease. It hasn't been studied and applied well in my country. If it had, maybe the disease could be diagnosed sooner and my friend could still be here.
it’s been 3 years and i’m your first like. Rest in peace to your friend.

is it possible to give AK-47 to my immune system to help them win the battle?
The it's more likely to work like auto-immune disease since your body will be caught in crossfire with AK-47 bullets all over your body lol
Nah, it is too big. But if you make tiny robots holding tiny AK-47 and put them into your blood, this may work
They already have a better ak-47 , its called antibodies , the last line of defense. Although you can give them nukes tho , its called antibiotik , but it also kills some of your comrade .
In America immune systems have AR-15’s. To fight those terrorist viral invaders.

I've never been this sick before from the flu. I got a flu shot on Tuesday and felt bad for 2 days but I felt okay the next day. However, the after that I started coughing, spiked a fever, muscle aches, and headache. It's been over a week now and I'm so fatigued and am still coughing.
Must have been a different strain.
takes a couple weeks before the shot is effective.
I’m currently sick and am trying not to feel sad this video helps a lot thank you 🙏
Hi me too I already cried
me too & i cried yesterday
Despite how bad I physically feel when I'm sick, I still love being sick because you get an excuse to sit around all day and do absolutely nothing.
It's fun for the first couple of hours but after that I just get bored.
Unless you're REALLY sick, to the point where you even promise to not ever slack in school again if only the pain went away...

It honestly makes me feel better
This is a great video. Far too often we want relief from "problems" without knowing the extent of what will happen when we do that, or why they are there in the first place.
If you are able to recognize the complexity and organization of the human body, you will have less interest in controlling its processes, and more interest in helping it do the things that it is so innately capable of doing on its own.
“our immune system lead us pain” I’m shocked! But, when i’m sick, i’m able to appreciate about my immune system working for me.
I am sick. No coughing, just sore thorat. After it was going away, I felt so awful and didn't want to move! That's where I am right now. I MISS MY HEALTH AND HATE MY IMMUNE SYSTEM RIGHT NOW
Who else here also is sick but also resists painkillers. I just feel like my body knows best…unless I get to point of a dangerous temp I just allow the feaver to do it’s thing
