I was hoping to see how to connect your iPhone to enable Apple car play. The manual just says the phone needs to be plugged; but no matter the phone, or the cable used, I always get a message in the car saying “the usb device isn’t responding” (not quite, but the message is in French and that’s what it means)
@@lacombeford it charges, though I’ve had to replace a cable I used in the car as it ate a pet of the cable’s port. Had to pull out the part with tweezers but nothing in the car’s port seemed broken/bent
@@big_b_wolf1236 we would recommend taking it in to a Ford service centre. There is likely something damaged within the port or the system may need an upgrade or reset to get Apple Carplay functioning again.
If your truck is equipped with SYNC3 you should be able to connect your phone. You'll need to ensure the Sync 3 software is updated to its most recent version. You can check online at this site help.ford.com/update-sync/ (just enter you VIN and it will let you know what version you have and if any updates are available).
I'm really frustrated because I got my new iPhone and I can't connect it to my f 150 2015, which is the reason the device never appears in the truck, just like my phone can't find the signal from my truck, can you help me, it's an iPhone 12
Try disconnecting all devices and reconnecting. You’ll have to ensure you enable your phone’s bluetooth as well (in your settings go into Bluetooth and look for your truck’s signal and allow). If it is still not working your Sync system may need an upgrade. You can take the truck and phone into your local ford service centre for more help troubleshooting

This sounds like it could be a falt in the USB port itself. Does the phone charge when you plug it in? Or does nothing happen at all?

Do you have to do it every time?
No you should only have to do it once and you are ready to go!

How on a 2014 Escape ?
This will only work if you have Sync3 installed. If you have Sync 2 you can get an upgrade to Sync 3 but otherwise it won’t work.
