- ELP live in 1997 Germany concert plays Tarkus from self titled second album released in 1971. Tarkus (Emerson/Lake) is:
"Eruption"
"Stones of Years"
"Iconoclast"
"Mass"
"Manticore"
"Battlefield"
This is so good that it seems ridiculous. The absolute perfection.
Genius immortalized. So incredible.
Anything involving these musicians is worthy of seeing over and over. These are artists at their best
Like fine wine, Greg got better with age.
What great baritonale voice Greg,Simply amazing
Blows my mind when I hear it, His voice got better with age. Big time.
HOT LIKE LAVA. Greg's voice matured phenominally! That changeup @8:49 has always been my absolute favorite.
Thanks for uploading, 10 years ago now.
Brings sweet tears to my eyes and a smile to my face.
Every one of them are incredible Talents. Missing Keith and Greg... Lord have Mercy 🙏🏻
Oh I see, it was 1997 Germany. Astounding. Best version ever.
Jeezus H......... Carl's snare sounds exquisite. Hell, his whole kit does but that snare.
1:40 Their perfect timing here blew me away
God Bless you Greg and Keith ...
& palmer
RIP Greg Lake, the other ELP member who also died in 2016.
Man these guys are on fire here!!
this is the best live version!
My God Greg Lake.. what a voice..
Totalmente! El Frank Sinatra del Rock!
@@Fierrometalpesado way better ;)
mucho mas! Molto meglio!
Well, my first thought was different: whatever happened to this voice? Did you never hear the original vocals on Tarkus - or, say, his voice on King Crimson's first two albums (In the Court of the Crinson King / In the Wake of Poseidon)? The true Greg Lake, that's not what you can hear here. This here are only remains and relics.
Why has this got so few views?what a band and what a voice Greg has. Got better over the years.
Thank you, our dear and beloved.
i love tarkus ever since. this is a real good version :)
The re-done transition at 8:49 is much better-arranged than the original album version and sounds more natural to my ears. It's an improvement, IMO.
the abrupt transition is my favorite actually, because in the context of the story of tarkus, the iconoclast is suddenly killed by the mass before the iconoclast and tarkus could battle.
It doesn’t get better than this! God blessed us with EL&P.
Their music was overwhelming ..RIP Keith.
I will always Love them!!!!
WOW!
São muito bons...

RIP Maestro....and as usual Carl laying it down.

Poor Keith wasn't himself any more here :-(
picardbs luckily in 2010 he was able to punch back.
Where was this recorded? Atlanta?
Battlefield is not included here
Actually the only song I know and like about Tarkus is Mass XD
