to critisize is very easy, the combination of guitar, piano/organ and drums is not easy at all, making it work is amazing! Making it sound great is a matter of great skills.
@RandomPerson56789 could be he was referring to technique?Dunno. I'm sure my piano technique is shoddy. @Marc René Yvon What even is creativity? I remember attending art classes and my teachers would insist on giving us nebulous and vague criteria that we were expected to interpret and define our own way, but of course our work didn't stand up to the undefined criteria, so they got to judge everything subjectively while claiming there was some objective standard of judgment. That's when i quit pursuing the "artsy" end of the arts and pursued more technically grounded art courses. @Frans Schmitz Amen.
My poo was a strictly classical guy, he didn't like or get this music (or any form of jazz) but he did understand the brilliant level Emerson played from. I always lived him for this.

Keith was amazing - but Carl and Greg had to stay inside his head to keep up and that couldn’t have been easy. They are (were) all fantastic musicians.

This meant to me so much 50 years ago, this mean lot to me now. Am I so stupid? I wouldn"t say, just the music is so powerful, they were so good. Thank you Greg, Carl and Keith.
I'm so thankful that my older brothers had me listen to ELP constantly as a child (I was nine when their first album was released). Later in life a maths professor told me that my thought process is deeply geometric. I had my daughter listen to ELP, and now she's a behavioral analyst helping children on the spectrum. We hear "STEM STEM STEM" as the most educationally important. I disagree: STEAM, is the most educationally important. There is a great loss occurring with the art in music, and with the loss of art, we loose science.

ELP The Show That Never Ends 🎹
Keith Emerson was a monster keyboardist, unparalleled.
Three musical geniuses at work and play - so brilliant!
Greg Lake was so handsome and talented! What a gorgeous smile too
ELP was my favorite band when I was a teenager saw them live 4 times!
Such an Iconic ELP number..!! They were really having so much fun on stage.!! RIP Keith and Greg
What's truly amazing is Keith was 26 here, Greg was 23 and Carl was freakin 20.
Been listening to this since I was was 6 52 years ago one of their most underrated songs
What an amazing voice what an amazing band what an amazing song what an amazing time in our lives thanks ELP
i have to say they are by far one of the greatest bands of all time, if not the very greatest. their combined musicianship and artistry made for many of the greatest songs ever written. rest in peace keith and greg, the world is a lesser place without you both. this is truly incredible beyond measure and i feel eternally grateful to be able to hear it for myself. no words can describe it, but the emotions felt whilst listening to elp speak louder than words ever could.
I spoke to both of these musicaly genius men.
Sadly, they were gone not to long afterword...
And not just another guitar-band...
What an awsome song...ive seen these guys play back in the 80s...incredible talent.
I am still loving this trio today. Talented musicians who take risks are rare today.
WOW!! You listened to ELP as a teenager?!! I knew not a single girl who listened to ELP. You're part of a rare breed of Ladies. Kudos!
@@harrychapin808 Really? One of my favorite songs is "Closer to Believing" surely a song that appeals more to women, no?
I did too, at age 17. My boyfriend introduced me to ELP. The relationship didn't last, but my love for the music did, to this day. I'm a keyboardist myself and Keith Emerson was/is one of my all time idols. So sad that he passed. I doubt that there will ever be another band like ELP. They were in a class by themselves.
@@Carol120454 I agree! I am glad to hear that you are a musician. I am a singer/songwriter with two channels on UA-cam. I wouldn't be one today if it was not for groups like ELP. There is nothing better than inspired musicianship. I am sure you are a wonderful keyboard player. All the best to you!
so clear and beautiful singing from the master Greg...a truly great trio
Keith Emerson is as talented a musician this world will ever know!
Probably the most underrated band of all time.
Nah, we rate them quite highly :)
Not underrated . The were "THE" supergroup in that time !
This is SO COOL, and in November 1970 I turned 20 years-old! TAKE A PEBBLE is perhaps my #1 EL&P song, and they are STILL my #9 All-Time Band here in 2023!!! 🎹🎵💖💖💖
Imagine if this raw talent were unleashed today!
My piano teacher told me Emerson was no good. (strictly classical teacher) Needless to say, I quit taking lessons with him.
A friend of mine at the time told me about the same words. "Fast but non-creative". Aaaah, pardon me Bob ? We never spoke again.
One of Michael Jordan's HS coaches told him he was OK, but he'd better forget about basketball and get a job. So much for "experts".
to critisize is very easy, the combination of guitar, piano/organ and drums is not easy at all, making it work is amazing!
@Frans Schmitz Amen.
RandomPerson56789 Excellent decision! He was completely oblivious to talent.
My poo was a strictly classical guy, he didn't like or get this music (or any form of jazz) but he did understand the brilliant level Emerson played from. I always lived him for this.
Greg Lake was gorgeous, sexy, great guitar player with the voice of an angel. Oh to go back in time and have a chance to meet this legend...
You and me both!!
So good it hurts. Today's music hurts but not in a good way.
These guys, ELP, are truly missed as musicians/composers. All 3 were virtuosos in their own rights!
They make it look so effortless. We will mist their talents. Thankfully we have video. Prog Rock at its finest.
I could listen to him count to four all day, he even makes that sound great. What a voice, what a talented group of guys playing some of the best music ever ❤🎶🎸
As always beautiful vocals by Greg.
Keith was amazing - but Carl and Greg had to stay inside his head to keep up and that couldn’t have been easy. They are (were) all fantastic musicians.
I'm back for another listen to this masterpiece. Greg Lake's voice was in it's prime and so was the work of Keith and Carl. I was fortunate enough to see them at the Cal Jam concert with a bunch of other heavy weight groups of that time. And I was close enough to see them clearly. This is historic footage of one of Prog Rocks greatest bands. RIP Greg and Keith.
They were an awesome and talented band!!!!!
Greg Lake had a hauntingly beautiful voice and spirit. There will never be another like him.🌹🥀
Makes me shiver watching this video! omg... how those great musicians end up.
This gets its own single playlist. Thank you angels. \m/
Just being able to listen to their albums and hear the quality of their music, more than satisfying
How does a little country like england produce such talent .amazing 🏴
their children actually get an education
INSANELY TALENTED ALL
Omg ! Simply Awesome !! Thank you ELP. RIP: Greg Lake. RIP Keith Emerson. 🇧🇷❤
This meant to me so much 50 years ago, this mean lot to me now. Am I so stupid? I wouldn"t say, just the music is so powerful, they were so good. Thank you Greg, Carl and Keith.
a talent long before I was of age.... Thank you, Greg Lake.
Such a great performance, to see the three of them having so much fun with it.
that a masterpiece I don't care what anyone has to say especially done live so well
This is so beautiful to watch.
I bought their first album when I was 15. Now I'm 51.
Thank you for your amazing music gentlemen.
I bought their first when I was 13 and I'm now 65. They have been good companions in Life.
Listening to Take a Pebble on NY radio (probably WNEW) during a sleep out in a tent pitched in my mate's backyard. What is this grand sound coming from the tiny speaker?! Buckle up, you're going on a musical journey.
My first concert . My oldest brother snuck me out of the house when I was a 8 th grader . St. Louis checker Dome . Five rows back in wooden folding chairs 1977 . I was awestruck . ELP played as the only band for 3 hours . Had an intermission .
In seiner Art immer noch unübertroffen 🎉
May of 2024 listening to this AMAZING trio. Still love them.❤❤❤
YOU JUST CAN`T HELP YOURSELF BUT ENJOY THEM STILL
