    When sharing with other users how can we stop the spreadsheet from changing other’s personal view. Like we filter to our own work save the view but then something goofy happens and the whole personal view resets to the default view.

    Can you link/pull data from one ms tesms excel sheet to another me teams sheet?

    • @gocollectiv
      @gocollectiv  2 роки тому

      Yes! As long as you have permission to both workbooks. You can see workbooks you've referenced/linked by going to the top header tabs and clicking: Data > Workbook Links. Here is an additional resource: support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/create-an-external-reference-link-to-a-cell-range-in-another-workbook-c98d1803-dd75-4668-ac6a-d7cca2a9b95f

      @@gocollectiv this is not for MS TEAMS though. this is only for actual Excel workbooks. I am looking for a reference formula like google spreadsheets have where I can reference multiple workbooks into one workbook over the cloud

    I have an Excel workbook with Vba, Macro's on a shared drive within a company.
    Will the vba code and macro's work as well using Teams?
    When someone enters new data, will it reflect to the other users?

      Unfortunately, VBA code and macros do not work directly in Excel when using Teams or SharePoint in Office Online (the web version of Excel). These features are only supported in the desktop version of Excel. So, if you want to use macros or VBA, you and your team would need to open the workbook in the Excel desktop app.
      As for the second part of your question, if you're sharing the Excel workbook through Teams or a shared drive, the updates will be visible to other users as long as they are also working in the workbook in the desktop version (and it’s not protected by macros). Excel Online supports collaborative editing, but again, macros and VBA won’t run in that environment.

    I've used MS Excel for many years. For single user spreadsheets on a PC, it works extremely well. In the past 10 years, I've started using Google Sheets instead. Google Sheets is much MUCH better at collaboration than Excel. After watching this video, I'll stick with Google Sheets. The setup requirements for Teams and the poor use a screen space makes this type of work impractical. Microsoft really dropped the ball with their Office suite.

      Once Excel is uploaded to either SharePoint or Teams, all the users who have read/write access to the Team site folder, or the Sharepoint folder, can update the Excel collaboratively and simultaneously, just as in Googlesheets.

    Thank you Yusuf! This was a very helpful video :-)
    I was just wondering if its possible to bulk upload external telephone numbers to Microsoft Teams. Just so that when an external telephone number calls we can see who it is because we already have there number saved. I have only been able to add telephone numbers manually for each client. This will be helpful for when clients call our direct line.

      It's great to hear that you're enjoying our content.You can bulk upload external telephone numbers to Microsoft Teams using PowerShell and a CSV file. This allows you to recognize incoming calls from saved numbers. First, prepare a CSV file with the contact names and numbers, then use PowerShell commands to import the data into Teams.

    Hello, can I sperate a primary excel sheet and break it off to separate excel sheets for the individual person it belongs to but will also update the primary sheet at the same time in teams?

    • @gocollectiv
      @gocollectiv  Рік тому

      Hey!
      We do not think there is a way to do that directly in Excel, but depending on why you need separate files for individual users there are a few other options you could explore. If you need to make sure users only view their own data on the Excel sheet, that could be a good use case for Row Level Security in Power BI. If users need to make entries independently that feed into a master sheet they could use Lists within teams and users could set filters to only view/edit their own entries. PowerApps could be used over the top of that list as well. So, a few different options.

    Our company's data on Teams appears as a table and when one wants to update new entries you have to input manually one by one. Is there any way I can use an excel worksheet to add the new entries?

    • @gocollectiv
      @gocollectiv  Рік тому

      Hey! We would suggest looking into using Power Automate. There are templates that you can use to collect data from an Excel table and input it where you want.
